Last two dresses are great!

MiriamMargo · 06/03/2021 19:16

its not your shape, its the way your dressed and your posture that needs sorting x

EmpressSuiko · 06/03/2021 19:20

There’s nothing wrong with your figure, I think this is fully down to what clothes you wear.
The pink tights/leggings don’t go with the dress, it all just clashes and doesn’t look very flattering.
You nice a nicer fitting dress that will flatter your figure and better bra to give you the support you need and it will also help lift your chest.

I think you’d look wonderful in a jeans and cardigan combo, also A line skirts, you’ve got lovely legs so don’t be afraid to show them off!

When you wear larger looser clothing it tends to make you look bigger or distorts your figure, have a look for outfit ideas on google, you can even download apps onto your phone and upload photos of your clothing to create outfits so if you ever feel a bit stuck you can have a look at what you’ve already put together.

mynameiscalypso · 06/03/2021 19:32

I've definitely seen those last two pictures before on here. Have you posted a similar thread in the last OP?

pinkandblueflowers · 06/03/2021 19:32

@mynameiscalypso yes

Not keen on the stripes in the last pic although the neckline suits you from what I can see (hard to tell when bending over!).

Can I ask how old you are?

DianaT1969 · 06/03/2021 19:40

Can I ask why you posted twice OP? Not to police you, just wondering if it's becoming an obsession.

ShrikeAttack · 06/03/2021 19:47

Hi OP, you had some really good advice on your last thread and I seem to remember you got quite a few good dresses.

Can I make a little suggestion? Why not give your wardrobe a really good sort out and de-clutter, get rid of anything that's not working for you, and I'll bet there's loads of stuff in there that suits you.

I think you probably have loads stashed away, the only thing I'd think about now is a really decent bra.

DianaT1969 · 06/03/2021 19:47

I think your navy blue dress looks great. It's a shift dress with flutter sleeves I think. I'll try to look for similar. Not so keen on the striped dress. You could get rid of all pattern and stripes and stick to darker block colours in my opinion.
I'm learning something here. I'm going to ditch my cardigans.

DianaT1969 · 06/03/2021 19:54

I'm not sure if this link will work, but if you go to H&M for Tie Belt Dress Petrol, it's similar to the shape of you navy one. Although bI think the navy one has some elastic at the waist? There's also a small pattern version in black/cream.

Sittingonabench · 06/03/2021 19:58

@pinkandblueflowers I’m not really sure I think she has bought some things from joe brown though

TomorrowsPrincess · 06/03/2021 20:00

I think you should stay away from low cut tops. A higher neck line and sleeveless.
Go for one colour with the dress..... no patterns, and try a wide belt to cinch in your waste. Some height with shoes would help and also look good.
I don't think there is anything wrong with your figure.... I just think you need to dress better for it (don't mean that in a catty way) we all learn to dress better for our figure at some point and the internet is great for teaching us.

Sittingonabench · 06/03/2021 20:00

A belt cinching a plain tunic or dress is very flattering as it accentuates the bust and flows out at the stomach but hides any bulges you don’t want seen

JollyGreenGiantess · 06/03/2021 20:08

I am getting loadsa valuable tips here. Thank you. I hardly recognise my post baby figure. I’ve ditched most of my wardrobe and don’t know what to replace with.

PickleASturgeon · 06/03/2021 20:15

What about something like this OP?

www.next.co.uk/G5776s11/303673#303673

Maybe not this exact dress (although I think it's very nice and could be tempted myself!) It might be a wee bit too long on you, but I think the plain colour looks better than a pattern and the v neck is more flattering on bigger busts. (Although maybe your bust isn't that big and you just need a better bra). Good luck anyway!

sanfranfibber · 06/03/2021 20:20

Use boob or bust, or Bravissimo when shops reopen.

And tidy up ;)

Notanotherhun · 06/03/2021 20:26

Molke bra for the bust. Sensible and boring healthy diet for everything else and a daily walk. Boring advice, I know. Smile stay away from tight and frilly things, high waisted jeans and nicely cut tops.

Notanotherhun · 06/03/2021 20:43

Oh god, that should have read as stay away from tight and frilly and go for high waisted jeans and nicely cut tops. But mostly, stand up properly, pull your tummy in and smile. Also, decent pants. I can't feel comfortable unless I've got nice pants.

pinkandblueflowers · 06/03/2021 21:01

@DianaT1969 I've just ordered that dress size 14 thank u. But isn't it a similar style to the first photo the pink dress?

OP posts:
DianaT1969 · 06/03/2021 21:08

Haha, I just ordered the petrol blue dress in 14 too. Plus a pair of beige platform trainers. Your thread cost me £45 OP 😄

DianaT1969 · 06/03/2021 21:10

I'm hoping the petrol blue dress will be more like your navy one than your first one. Not a low v at front and a little loose on the waist and hips.
I think your 1st dress looks a bit empire line.
We can always return it if it doesn't work.

DianaT1969 · 06/03/2021 21:13

@Coriander - your experience on boob or bust seems similar to others. You could choose the sister size in 32 band as you won't be used to wearing a snug band. Basically, all the breast tissue at the sides will now be in the cup.

hellosummersun · 06/03/2021 21:17

H and m do T-shirt dresses in summer that have elastic under boobs and then bag over tummy making you look slimmer they are great for a casual day outfit !

pinkandblueflowers · 06/03/2021 21:25

@DianaT1969 I ordered the petrol colour too. We are both gonna have to post photos in a few days once they come

pinkandblueflowers · 06/03/2021 21:27

There's lots of those tie dresses from h&m so if a good shout I'll be ordering more lol
