babbaloushka · 06/03/2021 17:17

High waisted jeans and a nice jumper over a supportive bra.

pinkandblueflowers · 06/03/2021 17:18

@babbaloushka that's the plan I'm gonna hopefully find my tape measure today or tomo and get measuring with the online site someone earlier mentioned

What jeans do you currently wear ?

pinkandblueflowers · 06/03/2021 17:21

@glitterelf don't wear any at the mo but usually love skinny

With high waisted jeans is it a rule that they have to be with tops tucked in? Or can tops be worn however

OP posts:
applepineapple · 06/03/2021 17:26

I would do a french tuck Smile

pinkandblueflowers · 06/03/2021 17:27

Can I not just wear a loose top? As I don't really like tucking tops in tbh

OP posts:
glitterelf · 06/03/2021 17:27

I'm 42 and don't follow fashion rules, if I did I wouldn't wear skinny jeans which are the only jeans in my wardrobe.
I mainly wear tops / jumpers over.

diddl · 06/03/2021 17:29

I think if you have a bit of a belly anything tucked in at all, just emphasises it tbh.

Sittingonabench · 06/03/2021 17:31

Just my opinion but I think with your figure you might suit legging with a tunic style top or a-line/50s style dress and a cinching belt under your chest (with a good bra). It’s kind of about personal taste but I have a friend with a similar shape and she always looks lovely!

pinkandblueflowers · 06/03/2021 17:33

@Sittingonabench where does she get her leggings from? I like the idea of this style I think

EllaPaella · 06/03/2021 17:33

High waisted skinny or slim jeans will be ok with top not tucked in but Mom style jeans definitely need the top tucked in.

MiddlesexGirl · 06/03/2021 17:34

I thought your dress looked great actually.
I'd be worried that jumpers would be accentuating the top heaviness and that if it was me I'd be going for V necks and more tailored styles .... whilst still being comfortable fabrics if that makes sense.
But the key to any of these looks is getting your boobs in the right place Wink

pinkandblueflowers · 06/03/2021 17:36

@MiddlesexGirl I'm 100% gonna measure my boobs at home over the next few days

MoltonSilver · 06/03/2021 17:41

All I'm seeing is a bad bra, not a bad figure.

Mumof1andacat · 06/03/2021 17:43

Use the boob or bust website and do an at home bra measure. It makes a hell of a difference for comfort and look.

MiddlesexGirl · 06/03/2021 17:43

I'm also with you in the not having worn jeans for years. I have lost weight recently so they're beginning to come back into consideration now but previously, with a big belly, they were too uncomfortable and not flattering at all.
Dresses, tunics, leggings all made (and still do really) me much more confident in the way I looked. The lumps and bumps were disguised but not squished.
I also wore long skirts but this probably worked better for me as I have smaller boobs.
I can see you looking good in short skirts though as you've got great legs.

sabrinathemiddleagewitch · 06/03/2021 17:46
@sabrinathemiddleagewitch any suggestions as to what shop?
Bravissimo, John Lewis?

Do not go to M&S they use the "old school" method and poor fit.

Ilovewillow · 06/03/2021 17:49

I think maybe a better bra and a better cardigan would help enormously! Other than that you look very lovely!

pinkandblueflowers · 06/03/2021 17:49

@MiddlesexGirl thank u and when shops were last open I was eyeing up some fab mini skirts (not too short tho) in river island but it just won't work right now with my big belly

pinkandblueflowers · 06/03/2021 17:49

@Ilovewillow thank u ☺️

Ditch that cardi in favour of a cropped style one.

pinkandblueflowers · 06/03/2021 17:52

I love this kind of dress photo below but it's hard to find that style Altho I did find the exact same one on eBay but in green which I've ordered and am very excited about. What are these type of dresses called?
