Carrying on the great tradition of this thread - where those that are addicted to beauty products come together and support one another!

This weeks empties, there's a lot of make-up this week, I don't wear that much, but it just happened that they ran out at the same time.
Dr Sebagh Serum Repair Hyularonic Acid - great product, someone earlier in the thread commented on how they like this as it is quite thick, therefore feels feels better quality than similar runny products, and I agree. Already have another one on the go.
No7 Foaming Cleanser - alright, nothing special.
Clinique Superbalanced Makeup - Absolute HG for me, every couple of years I buy a new foundation (tried some Laura Mercier earlier this year) but they are never as good as this. I always have a spare.
Clinique Quickliner - Love this, no faffing around trying to sharpen it (I think DS1 thought I was losing it when he kept finding eyeliner in the freezer, until I explained I put them in there before sharpening). Got loads of eyeliners to use up from GWPs so won't be RP for a while.
Bobbi Brown lipstick- always a good product
Sisley lipstick- the colour of this one didn't suit my lips so I used it as a blusher.

Hmmm my SIL gave me a load of eyeshadows yesterday... she does not wear it feel really bad about all the palettes I gave her as stocking fillers at Christmas now

One empty:

  • Garnier Nutrisse restoring conditioner: this is really nice on my ends - just the one that comes with the dye (first time I have used).

An empty from my travel/mini/sample stash. (When are we ever going anywhere again?!?!) Biossance Squalane & Vitamin C Dark Spot Serum. Light, milky serum. Felt lovely. Certainly not irritating, but not as brightening as other vitamin c treatments I have used. I looked at the price and nearly fell over. My 10ml sample size retails here for $55.00. I can assure you it’s not worth that. It lasted less than a week, and I only did my face with it, not my usual face, neck and chest. Can buy more effective vitamin c products from the chemist.

PomRuns · 11/08/2021 12:19

@Experiment627 great using up achievements

@justilou1 thanks so much for all that info, so useful.

@Caggie09 putting that cleanser on my want list.

My empty and old produces for the week.
Old - neals yard face oil, smells bit odd now.
St Ives scrub and mask - used up on my legs (random purchase in America in the days we could travel -sob).
Pixie tonic - wasn’t sure it did anything.
Finished:
Venn all in 1 - liked it but not enough to repurchase.
molton brown bushukan shower gel. Loved it, summery slightly lemon fragrance. Made me think of sunshine.

@SlatternIsMyMiddleName like the sound of that shower gel.
@laselvar agree re the serum. It’s normally in the Liberty advent calendar, but I might go for a different calendar this year. Can’t remember who mentioned the pixie eye pencil but I completely agree- impossible to sharpen. Disappointing as the colours are lovely.

A few more empties!

Head & Shoulders conditioner No idea why i bought this, as i dont have scalp issues. But, its a pretty good conditioner. Left my hair smooth amd untangled. Wouldnt rush out for it though.

Upcircle body scrub I hate the tube its in!! Totally understand its better than plastic, but no. Its a pain to squeeze out, and all the oil goes to the bottom so its dried at the top. This is my last venture with coffee scrubs. To messy. Didnt leave me feeling that descaled either!!

Armani Si body lotion Came in a gift set. The scent was quite sickly, so used sparingly. Doesnt smell like the perfume either i think? Done the job. Wouldnt RP. Does anyone ever buy the lotion you get in perfume sets or?!

Oskai cleansing gel Already mentioned this in my last empties. 🧡 it!!

Omorovicza moor cleanser Used once or twice a week as a "detox cleanser". The light clay texture doesnt dry my face out, and the light menthol scent helps wake me up in the morning. Skin feels smooth amd clean without feeling striped. Id RP this for sure.

Fresh Rose Hydration Serum Had high expections as i love the toner! But i found this pretty basic and lacking in that wow feeling. Light scent of rose, wasnt sticky and did sink in nicely. I just think its pretty basic. Think its discon now anyway, so wouldnt rp!

Justilou1 · 12/08/2021 10:29

I am not sure if I need to retract what I said previously about the Biossance Serum, but I have started a second sample size and my normally bullet-proof skin is NOT happy. (Perhaps it’s this batch?) I have a visible, raised, itchy rash all over my face. Binned.

clary · 14/08/2021 08:53

Couple of empties - Moringa cleansing balm from GWP, nice smell, was OK. Have RP a Lumene one I loved from the advent calendar.

Also have finished loved vit c oil from (I think?) the H&B advent calendar which I loved and will RP when I have finished up a few other things.

ememem84 · 14/08/2021 14:56

Oaui body wash done.

woodhill · 14/08/2021 14:58

Found you all again. I'm doing quite well with using up products this Summer

CommanderBurnham · 14/08/2021 19:21

Hi all! I've been following, just not a lot to report. But I've been away and I've got lots of empties!

Here goes.

Aesop camellia hydrating cream - a bit thick and stinky.

Biore aqua sunscreen - really good. Need to RP ASAP

anthelios factor 50 face. I broke out on the first application so it was used on the rest of body.

Accra kappa body cream 15ml - ok nothing special. Still searching for HG body cream.

Pharmaceris face cream 15ml - really soothing. On par with LRP toleraine.

Color Wow shampoo and conditioner 30ml each. This was surprisingly good, left my hair frizz free. Really want to buy but have just purchased 2 x 1l shampoo and conditioner so maybe next year!

Ritual of dao body scrub. This was lovely will RP but I've got others to use up first.

Smash box highlighter stick. This was lovely - one I may RP after I've used up others.

Rituals Sakura body foam mini. This was lovely, and doubled up as shaving foam on holiday.

I've just started skin + me and it's been really effective but it's rendered a lot of my skin care redundant. Not sure what's going to happen if I stick with it long term, which, if it continues to work as it is doing, will be my ultimate HG. I've always struggled with retinols and this was my last bash at it but this very low dose is working brilliantly so far.

I love reading everyone's reviews but literally have to sit on my hands trying not to buy!

ememem84 · 15/08/2021 18:24

Baylis and Harding unicorn bath bubbles gone. Smelled so sweet.

Ponks · 16/08/2021 08:20

Finished:

  • Medik8 R-Retinoate Intense serum. A blend of Retinal and peptides I believe. Lovely feeling serum but very very £ . I didn't feel any extra benefits compared with the Crystal Retinal so would not repurchase.
  • Skingregients Skin Good Fats moisturiser. Nice but not wowing.
Caggie09 · 16/08/2021 18:13

@commanderburnham Skin+Me worked wonders for me. My face has took abit of a funny turn, and came out in a rash though. My tret is only 0.009% so very low, letting my face settle then will try again. It 100% is the ultimate HG, i just hope it wasnt what set my face off!

ememem84 · 16/08/2021 18:44

Cotton pads gone. I hate these. Much prefer my cheeky wipes.

ememem84 · 17/08/2021 19:49

Clark a gentle exfoliating cleanser finished. This was a full size. I love this. So think I have a replacement in the stash.

ememem84 · 17/08/2021 19:50

Also feel unique have their advent calendars on ore order. £119 I think for £350+ worth of products.

I’ve ordered. Because it’ll be my treat to myself for Christmas.

Caggie09 · 17/08/2021 22:17

reallyree.com/space-nk-advent-calendar/

Very tempted by this!! Wasnt going to get one this year. Id use all of it, apart from the eye shadow. Was going to get the GWP, but this seema fab!!

PomRuns · 17/08/2021 22:40

Space nk looks great but also like the look of fortnums and waiting for Liberty - released 6 Oct.
Fortnums sold out quite quickly last year though.

ememem84 · 18/08/2021 05:17

Anyone have any ideas for men’s ones? Last year DH and I had the clarins ones. But I feel that if I’m getting a “big” calendar so should DH.

PomRuns · 18/08/2021 06:53

I might be repeating myself. I make one for DH using an old Library calendar. Fir items too big (ie book) I just pop behind with a gift tag in the drawer. He likes L’occitane so I do a mix of books/dvds/toiletries/chocolate.

daisyjgrey · 18/08/2021 11:34

Hello! I'm new to this thread/board but I'm working my way through a sizeable stash, built up from ad hoc shopping, Beauty Pie and a Glossy Box subscription (which I've now paused so I can catch up!).

The last month's empties have been:

Beauty Pie Superluminous under eye genius concealer - Really like it, it last a LONG time, like nearly a year and the consistency was good. Not too oily but it didn't dry out either. Only complaint is that it sometimes gathered in my slightly crinkly eye corners (I'm early 30's so they're not really crinkly but...). Would purchase again.

Avant Supreme Hyaluronic acid moisturiser (via GlossyBox) - This was good but not outstanding considering the full retail for it £100+. Consistency was nice and my skin felt good but the smell was quite 'medical' and I don't think it was any more efficient than moisturisers that are a tenth of the price. Wouldn't buy.

Nuud deodorant - I LOVE this deodorant. I have been buying this for a while and nothing else I've tried comes close. 10/10, I buy two at a time.

Beauty Pie Uber volume boost mascara - This was ok. Bit of transfer to under eye by late afternoon/evening. Not remarkable. Wouldn't repurchase.

Beauty Pie Super healthy skin ultralight UVA/UVB spf 25 - The Beauty Pie spfs are great, go on well, don't pill and don't make my face feel greasy or cause a breakout. I have repurchased a similar one (Featherlight UVA/UVB sunscreen and primer), but in a higher spf.

I've just bought a new Paula's Choice exfoliant, as I ran out about 6 weeks ago and my skin hasn't been the same since. I was trying to put it off and maybe find an alternative as it's not the cheapest product and I do seem to get through it but nothing has come close.

Ponks · 20/08/2021 09:06

Empties:

  • Fresh Kombucha essence, not convinced about essences, and not 100% sure how to use ( on a cotton pad or splashed on? Where to use in your routine?) , didn't use it consistently enough to see benefits. Like the other Fresh Black Tea range but wouldn't repurchase this.
  • No7 Hydraluminous overnight gel cream. Was in a gift set, and I was pleasantly surprised, face felt plump and smooth the next day.
  • Lumene Fresh Skin tint , from last years advent calendar, I liked this on and off, depending on my skin and how it felt. Wouldn't repurchase as have moved on to Eborian cc and bb creams.

Did a quick audit and I'm down to 7 day creams , 2 night creams ( both of which I love) and 13 cleansers ( eek - but I love cleansers). A lot of other things I am struggling to get through though.

Caggie09 · 20/08/2021 17:44

This weeks empties!

Coconut hair perfume Really regret this purchaswe, i now realise they are a huge waste of money. Made my hair crispy too. Decluttered!

Chantecallie Rose cream Disappointed i have to admit. Not right for my skin type, didnt feel any benefit from it and it was quite light. I need moisture on this dry face!

DDG Stress serum A small sample, so unsure on my thoughts. It was a lovely thick serum that went on smooth and didnt disturb any other products or makeup. It helped with the redness of a spot, so not blown me away.

Laura Mercier Ambre Vanilla body cream Summer in a jar🌞 Makes my body silky soft, and i smell lush too. Quite thick, not greasy, but left with a little glow. Made me feel wonderful! Would RP, only in a gift set as its better value! Worth the splurge 100%!

I have had the grand idea of making Advent calendars for my DDs with my many, many samples and sheet masks. I’m going to buy some cheap plastic storage drawers and some wee gift bags and number the bags with tags on the ribbons and just leave the ribbons hanging out of the drawers.
