Carrying on the great tradition of this thread - where those that are addicted to beauty products come together and support one another!

No worries @Experiment627! It’s something I’m passionate about. There is so much misinformation out there and it’s frightening if you don’t know. I am happy to discuss my own experience by pm if you wish.

ememem84 · 04/08/2021 06:51

Binned some lip masks and some eye drops yesterday. Both our of date.

Also ditched a benefit highlighter. It’s been opened used once and then has gone all ick.

ememem84 · 04/08/2021 08:41

also just used up a sample of a jo malone blackberry and bay perfume. not my fave but its not unpleasant.

and have had to throw away my clarins foundation. it's separated and also gone all weird. thanks lockdown...i haven't been using it as much as i should have really. . . .annoyed because it was expensive. but hey ho. its also about 6 years old....so probably waaaaaaay past its best.

Experiment627 · 04/08/2021 09:42

I have some empties to report:

  • Loreal Elvive extraordinary clay rebalancing shampoo: I tried this a few years ago - but I used with the conditioner too and actually this works much better for me when I just use it. I have NO shampoo in the stash!!! I have bought some Kerastase online but it has not arrived yet.... I feel naked! Thank God I have a Body Shop hair scrub shampoo so can get by for a few days!
  • Superdrug vitamin E almond moisturising shower cream: this got used up in a couple of baths as Kwicklet got hold of it!!! That said I am not sad for it to be done with - the smell is not quite right and I am ready to try something else... however I have NADA in the stash Shock Shock Shock... again waiting for an order to arrive
  • Imperial Leather foamburst pomegranate & cassis: not a fan of the smell but this stuff is fab for shaving
  • Eucerin Urea Repair Plus 5% urea hand cream: this is bloody brilliant - HG - really helps with hand situation and with KP!

I just want to take a moment to pause here: yes I still have so much makeup, yes I still have many products in my stash but to be sans shower gel and shampoo is a mahoosive step forward. Brava!

Well done @Experiment627 on the stash reductions! 👏 And @ememem84 for decluttering. I should do same with some of my old stuff.

Finished Prai neck creams , both day and night. Like these and have repurchased.
Also finished Strivectin anti wrinkle eye cream, very nice and would consider buying again (after running down the eye cream stash).

But frustrated with myself that I've bought several new things unnecessarily. Wouldn't mind if I had great skin as a result but I don't. So it's "no buy August" now.

ememem84 · 04/08/2021 13:07

i have been good and hadn't bought anything for a while - then i ventured onto feel unique yesterday and bought some things for dh's birthday and because i spent over the £120 i got a free summer goody bag....

HeySeamus · 04/08/2021 22:00

Finished this Filorga sheet mask today - got 3 uses out of it. Love the smell but not sure if it had any effect on my skin.
Was a total bargain though at £2.99 in TK Maxx. Bargains make me happy Grin

@ememem84 I have quite a few Benefit highlighters, I’m surprised yours went off so quickly.

I was looking at my stash yesterday - I could apply body cream morning noon and night for a year and not get through it.

Ponks · 05/08/2021 08:19

Finished:

  • No 7 Restore and Renew night cream, I had forgotten about this while trying lots of other moisturisers, came back to this and realised I really like it. It's thick and soothing and my skin feels nice in the morning- great.
  • Skinceuticals Silymarin trial size, didn't get on with this, thin and watery and same smell as CE Ferulic.
  • NIOD FECC, unfortunately the dropper seal split and although I decanted the remaining product to another bottle , I think it oxidised. Seems ok product but I don't like dropper bottles particularly.
clary · 05/08/2021 08:55

Ladies I caved last night and bought enough new stuff on CB to get the GWP...lots of bits I needed tho like hair and bath. Also a new serum by Aurelia, hope it is good!

No empties but has anyone else noticed a big improvement in their skin? I am slathering on the serum and cream, face and neck, it's really made a difference :)

roastedbroccoli · 05/08/2021 12:04

@Experiment627 nothing in the stash is amazing! Must feel really odd. I am the same way with food, the idea of having nothing in the cupboards feels very uncomfortable. Even though things are so available nowadays?

I'm getting very close to finishing a couple of skincare items and I'm getting excited! Also doing a house declutter and have 3 binbags of broken hangers and other tat. Feeling good.

To be fair I had had it for about 6/7 years….

Experiment627 · 05/08/2021 13:25

@roastedbroccoli just no shampoo or shower gel... loads of other hoarded products!

Experiment627 · 05/08/2021 13:27

That is the fantastic thing about decluttering- makes you feel amazeballs!! I am planning to a power 15 minute declutter 4 times a week - wish me luck!

Caggie09 · 05/08/2021 16:04

Feel like ive not posted an empties for ageeees! I am still ploughing through my stash.

-Declutters.

  • Mark Hill heat protection Eeek! Makes my hair crispy and crunchy. Hate it!! Only heat i really use now is my hair dryer. So jas been sitting around for a few years, so time for the bin.
  • Lacura Charcoal mask Smells like cough syrup, which i do not want on my face. I found it quite drying too, only used a few times. Lacura do some good bits, just not this.

Empties!

  • Drunk Elephant Slaai butter cleanser 🧡 I love this stuff. I love how thick it is and not like the typical balm. Takes my makeup off easily, skin feels nice and soft too. It melts perfectly as you rub it round your face. Will RP, have other balms i want to try out first though.
  • Oskia Cleansing Gel Similar to the REN jelly cleanser, but far more superior to me. I prefer the milky texture to the REN one, as it feels easier to work with. Smells lush too. Have a huge 200ml and another mini to use. Would RP.
  • Sunday Riley CEO cream Doesnt knock my HG SR Ice off the top spot, but very close. This smells more like fresh OJ, but the oil didnt. I wasnt expecting it to be a thick cream, maybe a gel. But i do prefer a thick texture as it feels more moisturing on my dry face. Gives a glow without looking sweaty and didnt feel to heavy on my face. I have bought 2 full size tubs. Im thinking CEO for summer, and ICE for winter.
  • Olympēa perfume 10ml Was im a gift set i got gifted. Not something id choose myself, but still gave a lasting scent.

That is all for now!

@Experiment627 nothing in two categories is still great in my book!

@Caggie09 I too absolutely loved the slaai cleanser. I was very surprised as I'd heard several underwhelming reviews but it's just so smooth. It's how I wanted The Inkey List Oat balm to be, but I hate the graininess.

Experiment627 · 05/08/2021 17:06

Oh crap... @roastedbroccoli the Oat Balm cleanser is grainy? I have that in my stash 🙈🙈

OP posts:
roastedbroccoli · 05/08/2021 20:01

@Experiment627 oh golly hope I haven't put my foot in it. I think it has some oat flour in so there is a slight graininess. Not at all like you could call it an exfoliator, but it's just definitely not smooth. Annoyingly it likes to separate in the tube too. I also find it just really doesn't like to emulsify, definitely needs to be followed with a second cleanser (for me). I really really wanted to love it as it's so reasonably priced (and hawked by every influencer ha), when it's finished I've got my eye on the Simple cleansing oil!

Experiment627 · 05/08/2021 20:09

Not at all @roastedbroccoli !! I will let you know how I get on but may be a while before I use.

Experiment627 · 06/08/2021 14:29

I have an empty to report:

  • Superdrug soft pink (peah, violet & rose) anti-perspirant deodorant: this was fine - did the job. Maybe just a tad too sweet smellin for moi.

Also a make-up chuck:

  • BBB London ultra slim brow definer indian chocolate: not sure where I got this... much prefer the Catrice brow wand thing I broke out the other day & definitely do not need to keep something I will not use. Also the lid does not fit properly which drives me INSANE!
OP posts:
Ponks · 07/08/2021 20:47

Today's empties:

  • Aldi Q10 day cream, this is very good basic moisturiser for the price (£1.50?), would RP but of course I do have many other moisturisers to use up.
- Erborian CC Dull Correct sample; I like the CC cream but not so keen on this version which was a bit orangey for me.
  • Drunk Elephant Protini Resurf serum sample. Wasn't enough to feel the benefit I think. Interested in this as a peptide / lactic acid serum so would like to try a bigger sample.
ememem84 · 08/08/2021 07:54

Summer beauty bag received. It was chock full. Yay.

I didn’t purchase anything for myself either it was all for DH for his birthday.

ememem84 · 08/08/2021 10:09

Finished a dove deodorant. Nothing special. Meh.

roastedbroccoli · 08/08/2021 23:30

Three empties to report!

Clinique TTDO balm love this, will repurchase in the future at some point.

Eucerin sun gel-cream dry touch suncream SPF 50 like this body sunscreen. Slight scent but quite inoffensive. Got on quite a good deal but think it works out a fair bit more expensive than my other favourite, the altruist cream.

Paula's Choice 0.3% retinol + 2% bakuchiol trial size Well. Got this as a freebie GWP. Would never have bought it as hyped ingredients turn me off BUT this is a lovely light cream and my skin absolutely loved it. Very gentle. Think it's an excellent starter retinol.

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 08/08/2021 23:45

Empty

M&S Rose and Lychee body wash - this was lovely. If you shower in the evening and don’t want the citrus ‘wake me up NOW’ smell, I highly recommend this. The smell was not at all ‘old lady rose’ but rather faintly exotic non over powering loveliness.
