I saw these lists online but I'm not sure I agree with all of them :

Famous Summers
The Queen. Yes
Duchess of Cambridge. Not sure
Jennifer Aniston. ?
Jenny Agutter
Helen Mirren. Probably
Samantha Cameron
Saoirse Ronan
Grace Kelly ?

Famous Springs
Meg Ryan. Yes
Nicole Kidman - perhaps Autumn
Marilyn Munroe. Summer I think
Goldie Hawn Yes
Cameron Diaz. Yes
Gwyneth Paltrow Summer perhaps
Siena Millar. Yes
Mary Berry Summer perhaps
Reese Witherspoon. Yes

I can't remember where I got the list.
For those of you interested in Seasonal Colour Analysis, what do you think ?

@onlyconnect thank you for that link.

Apparently I am a warm Autumn. Mindblown! It recommends to avoid cool crisp and icy colours, all colours I always get complimented in🤣
I have never dyed my hair, it is brown, have brown green eyes and ghost skin with definite yellow undertones until I hit the sun then I brown very easily.
Always assumed I was some kind of cool....

I've never been cool😂😂

BeaLola · 23/02/2021 01:50

I find this fascinating subject and wish I knew what I was ! But the more I read the more confused I am ..... I don't think I look at any colours on me and think they suit me. I'm not drawn to brown unless its sandals or a handbag and I'm not a yellow person as such .

Fwiw I have blue eyes - bluey grey, I think my skin tone on my face looks yellow undertones - I'm an extra light or warm sand in Bobbi Brown foundation and my hair is brown -I always say mousey my DH says mid to dark brown . I would burn very easily if no sunblock but I do tan well - when I try and work out vein shade I'm uncertain ... I think I'm either a Spring or Summer maybe ?

Hopefully before I'm 60 I will get there Grin

BlueThistles · 23/02/2021 01:59

I am warm Autumn.. I had my colours done decades ago 🎉

onlyconnect · 23/02/2021 07:59

Pinkywoo I'm a deep winter too according to the link I posted. I have pale skin, blue eyes and auburn hair, now faded to strawberry blonde. I saw some pictures of deep winters who all seemed to have darker skin. It made me think I'd got it wrong so I'm glad to hear others with pale skin can be deep winter too. I do love the colours and they are the colours I tend to wear anyway.

onlyconnect · 23/02/2021 08:00

Queenpaw I'm a cool red head too and have come out as deep winter which I'm really pleased with.

Pinkywoo · 23/02/2021 09:38

@onlyconnect this page makes it slightly easier cardiganempire.com/2017/03/best-worst-colors-for-winter-seasonal-color-analysis.html, although on that one I'm a cool/true winter.

IlonaRN · 23/02/2021 23:27

I am a "Sweet Pea Summer", which I think is True Summer in other systems.

I was fairly certain I would be a Summer before I went for my consultation - I look ill in beige or khaki, jaundiced in yellow, orange or salmon, and like death warmed up in black!

I had light ash blonde blonde hair as a child, which is now dark ash blonde.

My eyes are a very dark blue with light around the irises, but no warm colours at all.

My skin is fair, usually one of the lightest foundation colours, and I have been told I "positively fluoresce"!. I tend to burn easily if I'm not careful in the sun. I go yellow in the sun rather than brown, and have very little contrast between skin and hair when I do spend time in the sun (skin goes darker and hair goes lighter).

LadyEloise · 26/02/2021 09:37

What would a Spring verging towards Summer be ?
Soft Spring ?

I always knew I was cool toned, but because I don’t have dramatic contrast thought that meant I would be summer. However none of the summers looked right and always looked a bit insipid on me.

Had my colours done a couple of years ago. And turns out I’m a true winter. Those colours really pop on me. I’d been wrong all these years.

It was worth the money just to get the makeup recommendations for my season. A lipstick that truly harmonises with you is a thing of wonder!

The person I went to doesn’t base it on your hair or skin. It’s all about how you skin reacts to the colour. My session was 4 hours where we compared all the seasons systematically. She didn’t just look and guess based on hair and eyes. In fact, hair and eyes don’t feature in working out your season.

Company is called Chromology if anyone is interested. Best money I’ve spent in a while.

Mycatismadeofstringcheese · 26/02/2021 10:12

The other thing that was good about the draping was seeing the subtle differences between adjoining seasons.

So at one point we looked at a Bright Winter Bright blue and I said how gorgeous it was. How I would feel good in a dress made of it. But then we compared it to a True Winter bright blue which was a really near shade and yet the difference on me was amazing. There was a dramatic difference between “close” and “harmonising” which you just won’t get from a computer screen.
She showed me how to spot the difference.

It can be quite annoying because I’ll see something and think it’s close, but it’s not wow so then I have to decide if I’m willing to compromise!

Mollyy · 26/02/2021 10:45

I am summer:-)

CruCru · 26/02/2021 12:43

Interesting. I think I’m a deep winter in winter and a deep autumn in summer (I have streaky, dark blonde hair that gets lighter and warmer in summer).

Sep21mum · 26/02/2021 21:27

You don't change seasons like that crucru esp as autumn and winter are almost polar opposite

Sep21mum · 26/02/2021 21:28

Ladyeloise at least with house of colour, you would still wear all the colours of the season but just have different wow colours.

Lanique · 26/02/2021 21:36

I've had my colours done and I'm a light winter. It was spookily accurate - the colours I wear are by far and wide best in that palette. That chart at the beginning of the thread doesn't strike me as at all accurate - according to that I'm a warm autumn.

It's definitely worth paying to get it done properly!

@LadyEloise

What would a Spring verging towards Summer be ? Soft Spring ?
Light/Pastel Spring I think www.kettlewellcolours.co.uk/seasonal-blog/2018/the-seasonal-sub-types-spring
CruCru · 27/02/2021 14:20

@Sep21mum

In that case, I am a deep winter (based on the link that onlyconnect sent through).
woodhill · 27/02/2021 14:31

Originally done in 1989 - colour me beautiful - spring flowing in to Summer. I have bright blue eyes but my hair is now grey.

I end to wear a lot of blue but have a coral jumper on today. My skin is pale and I freckled when I was younger

CruCru · 27/02/2021 14:40

I'm so confused. Ive just done a Kettlewell test and it says I'm a summer.

CruCru · 27/02/2021 14:41

Maybe I'll get my colours done once lockdown is finished.

Handsnotwands · 27/02/2021 15:03

I’m a leafy autumn. When I got analysed she covered up our hair and said it was to do with skin tone rather than hair etc

UtahGirl12 · 27/02/2021 15:30

I think I'm a Spring, but have no idea what type of spring. My hair is dyed blonde at the moment, but has also been red. People often comment that I really suit both shades, and that I'm lucky I can change so easily. My skin is quite pale, light-fair foundation in IT cosmetics. I can't tell if my veins are blue or green and I think I suit gold or silver jewellery. My eyes are grey, but can often look green or blue depending on what I'm wearing. I tend to burn first in the sun, but then can go brown, but not very brown. I find it difficult to tan evenly.

My favourite colours are teal/turquoise. I had the most compliments ever when I wore a turquoise satin dress out one summer evening, when blonde, but I also had compliments when I wore a deep forest green satin dress out on a Xmas do, when I had red hair. I look awful in nude colours like camel, and never really go for pastels. I do wear black, but I think that's because it's so easy rathe than I look good in it.

Any ideas or advice?

Sep21mum · 28/02/2021 18:13

@pinkywoo winter sounds right to me

Sep21mum · 28/02/2021 18:14

@bealola spring could be a good bet
