I saw these lists online but I'm not sure I agree with all of them :

Famous Summers
The Queen. Yes
Duchess of Cambridge. Not sure
Jennifer Aniston. ?
Jenny Agutter
Helen Mirren. Probably
Samantha Cameron
Saoirse Ronan

Famous Springs

Marilyn Munroe. Summer I think
Goldie Hawn Yes
Cameron Diaz. Yes
Gwyneth Paltrow Summer perhaps
Siena Millar. Yes

I can't remember where I got the list.
For those of you interested in Seasonal Colour Analysis, what do you think ?

According to any of this wisdom I should be a warm Autumn. I have dark brown hair with some red through it, hazel/green eyes & skin that tans but also freckles. I look terrible in Autumn though?

littlepeas · 15/02/2021 14:36

I always struggle a bit with this - I’m almost certainly either a soft autumn or a soft summer, but find it hard to decide between those two. I think I suit the autumnal colours better - salmon/coral is one of my best colours, for eg and I think I suit gold jewellery better - but I burn very quickly in the sun and gave quite rosy cheeks.

My veins are mostly green, but are blue in a couple of areas.

I’m very fair skinned, burn easily (light golden tan with some effort), have rosy cheeks. Freckles in the summer, but they disappear in winter.

Dark mousy hair - golden blonde as a child - lots of red highlights when the sun is on it.

Grey/green eyes with a bit of brown around the pupil. Dark eyelashes and eyebrows.

lazylinguist · 15/02/2021 15:23

You and I are possibly a good illustration of the differences between soft autumn and soft summer then, @littlepeas! You have more warmth than me - rosy cheeks, red highlights in your hair. Both blonde as children, but you golden blonde, me pale ash blonde. I would look like a zombie in coral/salmon. Grin

Just went back and read your post - I also suit navy and burgundy but look terrible in white. I think it’s quite a subtle difference between soft autumn and soft summer. I can’t wear any pastels - they wash me out - and have to be very careful with grey, some work and some really don’t. Can wear most darker shades of green. My skin is also quite yellow toned, but I do go red quite easily (exercise, hot bath, embarrassment...).
Volcanoexplorer · 15/02/2021 16:38

@LadyEloise after doing a bit more research I’m starting to wonder if I’m a soft summer so maybe you are too? I read on one website that soft summers often have a mixed eye colour and mine are blue on the outside and green in the middle with a small goldish kind of fleck/splodge near the pupil. Plus my hair was a light brown/gold colour as a child. The only thing making doubt it is my current hair colour. It’s a shade 4 so definitely dark brown. I’ve also seen soft summers described as having a mousey tone which I don’t think I am. Or maybe deep summer?

Little peas you sound more like one of the Springs.

Madam- you sound more Clear Spring

LadyEloise · 15/02/2021 17:02

I am light spring or light summer.
My hair colour is lighter than yours @Volcanoexplorer

@LadyEloise oh sorry, must have missed that.

PaulHollywoodsLowHangingFruit · 15/02/2021 17:07

Volcano - you sound like another clear/bright spring.

Darklane · 15/02/2021 17:16

House of Colour few years ago. Blue Spring.
Pale skin, very pale blonde hair ( own colour) turquoise eyes.
Said can wear both gold & silver equally. Lots of blues, turquoise, warm, yellow based greens. Cream instead of white. Basics navy, grey or brown rather than black.
Blue reds, pastels & anything remotely maroon/ magenta make me look ready for the mortuary.

LadyEloise · 15/02/2021 17:21

@Volcanoexplorer
What quiz did you do online ?
I've done another one and it says warm
spring. So I'm either Light or Warm Spring or Light Summer 😩

@PaulHollywoodsLowHangingFruit thank you. I’d not really considered this, but I e just had a look and I think you might be right. I was just having a look on this website (not sure if it’s totally reliable) and my eyes are very similar to the blue ones shown, with a bit of the green thrown in. Right down to the dark rim and goldish splodgy bit. theconceptwardrobe.com/colour-analysis-comprehensive-guides/bright-spring-a-comprehensive-guide
Thanks very much

That's really interesting - just had a look a look and there's a possibility I am warm spring.
Whatiswrongwithmykid · 16/02/2021 09:59

I came out a summer but I feel like I suit high contrast colours more so perhaps a spring?
I’ve cool pale skin but with a definite yellow undertone. Both green and blue veins so I believe this makes me a neutral. My eyes are green but some people mistake them for being blue. Hair is naturally mousy brown.

PaulHollywoodsLowHangingFruit · 16/02/2021 11:04

What - sounds like you could have soft summer colouring - they have more depth to their colours and a smidge of warmth.

Ponoka7 · 16/02/2021 11:23

I'm a bright winter. I don't agree that you don't change as you age. I found past 50, I had to drop some greens and a darker navy, a true grey now suits me. I've gone from a spring to a winter.

PaulHollywoodsLowHangingFruit · 16/02/2021 14:43

Pon - did your hair change?

Spied · 16/02/2021 14:50

@PaulHollywoodsLowHangingFruit
Thanks

LadyEloise · 17/02/2021 10:25

@Ponoka7 you say ".......I don't agree that you don't change as you age."

I agree with you. It's bound to have an impact.

I also don't believe that you go by your natural hair.
The present hair colour, eye colour and skin tone interaction must all play a part in what season you are.

Some color analysis methodologies like house of colour ignore hair color. It's your complexion, cool or warm skin, and eye colour and undertones as well as contrast between them.

I want to say I don't recommend house of colour. It was very expensive and not very good. It's a franchise as well.

A few good sites

2021manu · 17/02/2021 10:36

A useful tip for choosing good colours is to see if you look at your face first or the top colour. With a colour that suits you you will look at your face.

2021manu · 17/02/2021 11:12

To a pp, winter is the only season that can wear black however that doesn't mean black is okay as a top. It may only be okay at 25% of your outfit like a pair of trousers.

SwedishEdith · 17/02/2021 11:13

@brunetteonthebus

According to that link, Light Summer. Which is weird because I wear a lot of black and quite deep colours Confused
Me too. Have never considered myself to have summer colouring at all and would look really washed out in the suggested colours. Confused I might try and work it backwards from colours I like/wear.
