We used to have one of these and it was fab!

It was vaguely for size 18+, but I know a 5 foot size 16 is not the same as a 6 foot one, so don't think it needs to be strict.

Anyway, if anyone would like to join me they'd be v welcome.

FWIW, I'm a tall size 18, apple shape.

Still in my PJs Blush. Then going out for a walk / run (stating C25K again).

Oh lovely colours alpha! Thanks, I love these trainers too. They are ridiculously comfy and were quite cheap in the sale. I'm a bit bored of white trainers all the time, (although I still like them a lot), so thought these would be a good alternative. Also, my white ones are getting destroyed in the mud and wet weather!

Grin Charlotte! Hope you get on with the jeans.

@alphaechokiwi That outfit looks really good. And I really like the shape of that top.

Divebar2021 · 25/02/2021 06:54

I’m going to need some intervention soon with my shopping addiction. I’ve just bought two tops from Cos ( reduced) - one of which is going back. A pair of Monkey boots from Toast. A pair of trousers and Jacket from eBay and apparently the 5 pairs of trousers from my mum are winging their way to me. Last night my DH also got down a box of clothes from the loft and it was another Holy crap moment of discovery. The worlds “ black trouser mountain “ - all size 16’s. Mostly I can get into them which is good news although I need to lose another 6 pounds to lose the attractive camel toe I had going on. I’m just going to have to be ruthless and bin them off. I’m so tired of clothes everywhere. It’s making me feel claustrophobic.

Divebar2021 · 25/02/2021 06:55

Sorry to rant... I know this isn’t the diary room

UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme · 25/02/2021 07:40

Maybe thete should be a regular posters' clothing swap-shop Divebar ! I'd bet someone is looking out for some black trousers but has, say, dresses or skirts they never wear... Would have to be UK only due to postage costs sadly... and regular posters only to stop fly by nights after free stuff Grin

bemorewithless.com/project-333-challenge/

I'm doing this at the moment @Divebar2021 and also not buying any new clothessover Lent! I may even extend this, if it goes well.

I think a lot of us are buying more for one reason or another, during lockdown. Some reasons are legit, like you need stuff for lockdown lifestyle, or you've changed size. But also, I think I can fall into a trap of buying things, just because I'm bored. And lockdown is more boring than normal life. I send a lot back, so I haven't actually ended up with a great deal of stuff, but still, I'd like to see if I can do without so much. I've put a load of stuff away, leaving 33ish things, including shoes, bags and coats (not jewellery, because...fuck that Grin. I don't have much anyway and what I do have has sentimental value mainly). I've tried to leave better quality pieces and put away cheaper stuff. May end up donating all or some of it at the end, depending on how it goes!

Ok I’m off to the office today so wearing real clothes. Now I was actually feeling like a fox until I saw this photo.... new high waisted wide leg trousers from Cos that I LOVE! They’re very flappy. I’ll be wearing them with T shirts and trainers but I thought I’d go a bit classic so I’m wearing a pre loved silky shirt in pewter. I can’t take a decent photo to save my life. ( that box next to my feet was full of trousers!)

Speaking of clothes swaps my friend and I were planning on running one before COVID hit. We’d even found a venue. We went to one in Sutton that was really well attended but it takes a lot of organisation... maybe one to reconsider in the future.

@ParisJeTAime

I do know that project 333.... I’m not really interested in the numbers but I’d like a really honed, smaller wardrobe. You know I’m really keen on shopping my wardrobe ( horrible expression) so I think a period of not shopping is great. I follow A Small Wardrobe on You Tube who I guess is a minimalist and love her creativity with her clothes. My weight is in flux so I really need to get shot of that and see where I am. I’m also reading the Curated Closet trying to find my style.

ParisJeTAime · 25/02/2021 09:29

Oh god, the dreaded Turner Mullet 😱😱😱! She is a horrible woman as well, based on her Tweets. But that's by the by, probably.

Yes, I know what you mean Divebar. They say, the more you have, the less you have to wear. You DO look like a stone cold fox in that outfit though!!! So that is clearly bollocks! Again, Envy of your trip to London, which is totally unreasonable, as I remember working in London and it isn't as fun as it sounds, due to commute, but, but, but, London 😩. I am really regretting the times I didn't go when I could now. As soon as we are allowed, I'll be all "meh, I'll stay closer to home" of course Grin.

alphaechokiwi · 25/02/2021 09:51

@Divebar2021 I love those trousers - very classy and the blouse looks great with them. I'm so jealous of you getting to wear your 'real' clothes and actually having somewhere to go where people will see them.
I sympathise about the clothes mountain. I am similar except most of mine hasn't been worn. I spot bargains in sales or on eBay that I love the look of, but it often doesn't fit and sits in my wardrobe for years while I wear the same few things that do fit on rotation. Now that I've come down a size or so I need to wear the stuff I have, not buy any more and get rid of what doesn't suit me (now that I can actually try it onGrin)......

I had some highlights put in pre Christmas as a treat but my god they look terrible now with the grow out :(
TaylorSwaft · 25/02/2021 11:16

@Divebar2021 I'm having a bit panic about my hair - it looks EXACTLY like Anthea Turners now 😬 shit a brick. I've made the mistake of taking the kitchen scissors to the fringe and had a hack and I've Turnered it. I'm going to have to get my kids to hide the scissors so I'm not tempted to 'even it out'. Bloody hell roll on April.

StCharlotte · 25/02/2021 11:19

Dentist this morning which required proper dressing (in my book!). Will reply more fully when I'm back at my desk...

alphaechokiwi · 25/02/2021 11:42

@StCharlotte I like the colour of that dress and those boots with it.... So jealous of those of you with some kind of purpose for getting out of the house, even if it is the dentist Grin

Zebracat · 25/02/2021 12:03

Alpha, definitely can’t be jealous of a trip to the dentist!
My boots came, and they fit , if somewhat snug. But I just don’t know. My Dh hates them, which I m fully prepared to ignore ,as he knows fuck all about clothes. But they are calf length, and I do think that might be very unflattering. Also , I would clearly still need tights to wear them with dresses and I hate tights, and they are so snug that I don’t think even skinny jeans would fit underneath, but they are lovely. Sorry the photo is so poor, I was so excited that I tried them on in my pants, and the then threw the nearest thing on for decency

Plus size chat / what are you wearing today sort of thread?
Zebracat · 25/02/2021 12:07

God sorry for the essay, but Dh says the soles are too thick and that they make it look like I have fat legs. . I like the thick soles but less keen on thick ankles.

Zebracat · 25/02/2021 12:14

I have bought a lot of stuff lately. I have a clothes mountain, but I am also losing weight, and just not sure what to do. I think I will try to sort some out today. I have never sold anything, and I’m not great at returns. I bought a dress this week and took the labels out before discovering that I hated it. Grr.
At Charlotte, you look lovey in that dress.
Divebar, total fox, but share your Anthea Turner horror. My hair veers more towards the Tina Turner when it’s overdue a cut...

ParisJeTAime · 25/02/2021 12:17

Oh nooooo @taylorswaft!

Hahahaha "turnered it". So tempting though to cut it yourself! Mine also had a bleaching, first last spring (JUST before lockdown, when I also got a partial buzz cut 😬). It grew out VERY weird indeed, but at least everyone was in the same boat. I dyed it a bit blonder myself last year as well and it's not happy...quite dry. I've grown it to mid neck sort of length and I'm not dying it myself again for fear it will break off! Was due a cut in March, but obviously that's now going to be pushed back. Oh well. At least it's long enough to scrape into a teeny ponytail now.

alpha I know! Even the dentist sounds like a laugh at the moment Grin.

I love that dress Charlotte! Is it one of the ones you showed us last week?

zebra, oh I like those! I also love the soles. Funny that my DH didn't like my lace up black boots either... I've kept them and they are great.
But yes, the acid test has to be, I think, are there a few things you can wear them with? I'd wear with knee lengthish skirts, like one I did the style challenge with the first time.

I'm in the same thing as yesterday, so won't post a pic.

Want to see my super sparse wardrobe though? Ok, it doesn't look that sparse, but it is much less full than it was. I've ordered another one of those bags from Loopster, so I can sell some more of the best bits (which I don't want) to them.

@ParisJeTAime it's so tempting to mess with hair! I think, like shoes, it's something I can control and make look nice - as opposed to my body!
Love the styles today. Love the boots @zebra send more pics perhaps so we can see them properly?
I've just had a huge clear out of my wardrobe prompted by this thread. Although I also had a large delivery from John Lewis - eek. All keepers 🤷‍♀️😂

alphaechokiwi · 25/02/2021 12:41

@Zebracat I like what I can see of those boots, nice chunky sole, and your ankles look fine. I am 'substantial' of calf, and calf length boots are tricky....I can't see from the picture where yours end - perhaps try with a shorter length skirt or some jeans? From what I can see with the longer length they look pretty ok...

StCharlotte · 25/02/2021 12:49

Thanks for the nice comments on the dress. Yes @ParisJeTAime it's one of the new ones from last week.

The bad news is that I need several more dentist appointments. The good news is that I need several more outings appointments Grin

I had changed my mind re the Lent thing from the rowing machine to no new purchases for the duration. Until those jeans yesterday... In my defence, we still haven't had pancakes yet! And perversely now I want a sparse wardrobe!

Va va voom! @Divebar2021 You looks amazing! The clothes swap you attended, was that Sutton in Surrey (not wishing to out you if you'd rather not say)?

I am also going down the Anthea path. I would normally cut it myself but I thought I'd see where we go with it this time. Longer hair doesn't really suit me but I could employ a tight (now achievable) pony tail as a "Croydon facelift" maybe! "Fortunately" I grew out my grey in my 30s (after I started reacting to the the dye) so at least I don't have to worry about roots.

ParisJeTAime · 25/02/2021 13:00

Oh sorry about your teeth charlotte, but yes, at least you get to go out again soon Grin!

Tbf, you sometimes do have to buy the odd thing to make a small wardrobe possible...or so I'm told! One pair of jeans you love could replace 5 pairs which you find meh.

I've gathered a good few things together to sell. Realised too late that the lululemon leggings I bought at the beginning of the thread were no good, as I hadn't bought the right size! I've barely worn them, so they're being sold. Various other bits being sold too. I've got a list (naturally 🤓), of what I'm hanging on to. The rest is going to be sold (good stuff) and the rest is going in to a big storage bag in the loft, temporarily and eventually will go to charity, unless I am desperately missing anything.

Yes.... it runs particularly regularly I think in normal times. Do you know the area? I’m a little bit further out but still inside the M25.
