Are there any perfumes you absolutely hate?

Reason for asking, I ordered blind ( stupid I know) a Liz Earle perfume. Even wanting to try them, no chance of testing at the moment, so picked one that loads of reviews said was gorgeous, favourite perfume, ever, signature scent, always getting stopped & asked what it was etc. The description sounded ok. It came & I hate it, it actually makes me feel sick when I smell it, couldn’t wait to scrub it off. It’s so persistent though!

Alien. My sister had it for a time and I couldn't stand it.

I've found Jo Malone perfumes smell dreadful on me - somewhere on the spectrum between cat piss and toilet cleaner. I like them on other people, I just can't make them work for me.

Alien and Angel. They're so synthetic and strong.

What's the name of the one that all older ladies seem to wear? Very potent, overly floral and feels like it sticks in your throat? It almost smells like dusty old cushions, potpourri and rose amplified.

Regarding your perfume, you could list the perfume on Ebay? I got a perfume I didn't like for Christmas one year and listed it on Ebay as "Unwanted gift, sprayed once" and it sold for just under the retail price!

Oh, a limited edition Duran Duran one with some swanky perfume house. Rave reviews. Smells terrible

But it was very reduced and took me over the minimum cost for a Liberty GWP so it's not all bad.

All horribly heavy and sickly, can't understand why anyone would want to smell like that!

One used to smell of stale piss. Think it was a Chloe one,

Angel. A really lovely friend at work used to have it as her every day perfume and it honestly made me want to vomit. Cloying and sickly.

Is Angel the one that smells like chocolate?

I don’t like Chanel No 5. Also J Lo Glow smells like wee on my skin.

Anais anais, very over powering ( however I may be biased as it's the one MIL wears and it suits her personality )

Yes, Clinique Aromatics is my MIL's dreadful signature scent. I can detect it from miles away. Whenever she visits, it takes weeks get the smell out of our guest room.

Yes to angel. I tried it in a department store and it made me so queasy. It's vile on me.

Ditto poison, Lou Lou and most Chanel ones except the main coco one.

I loathe Clinique aromatics and a woman at work used to wear Charlie, which was utterly horrible.

I can't get on with Jo malone pomegranate noir either, although I really like it on others.
