AARRGHH! Discontinued favourites 😡

I’m SO annoyed! Just went to the Lish website to reorder my Queen Bee hair stuff and found it’s gone. Replaced by a cream which just won’t be right for me - it’s the addition of beeswax that stops my hair from fluffing up and releasing all moisture.

So I have two questions. What favourites of yours have been discontinued and what did you replace it with? And can you recommend anything to replace Queen Bee? 😭 I guess technically that’s three questions but still....

I am also annoyed that I bought a lipstick from Mac (it was a limited edition to be fair) which was discontinued with no equivalent replacement. It was perfect.

Jean Paul Gaultier - Fragile

Still devastated

Sexnotgender · 12/12/2020 22:02
@Sexnotgender, what Black Honey? The Clinique website has it, or did in September when I bought one.
No the gentle light foundation.

iwasacceptableinthe80s · 12/12/2020 22:38

Mac Paints cream eyeshadow in the little metal tubes. So good.
And another one still mourning Clinique Gentle Light powder😢

Commonwasher · 12/12/2020 23:52

Another vote for Very Valentino here.

And just this year the mint & tee tree Alberto Balsam conditioner has vanished from the shelves (great for head lice prevention).

What’s happened to Soap & Glory Orangasm scented range???!! Grrr. The new lime one smells like kitchen cleaner.

I loved the original Benefit Cheekies cream blush in a little tube. That’s looooong gone now... along with Fuzzy Peach and morello cherry lip balm in the little glass pot from Body Shop.

BusterGonad · 13/12/2020 01:21

Oh yeah, Benefit blush in the tube was great, the apricot shade suited 90% of people.

BusterGonad · 13/12/2020 02:33

I'd definitely buy a Lancome lipstick again called Rock on Fushia. It was a beautiful fushia shade that had a oil sleek look to it, not shimmery or frosted but had a beautiful sheen that made it look different at different angles. I loved it and panned it which is very rare for me.

WhereToMissToTheStars · 14/12/2020 21:10

My favourite perfume Ralph Lauren Blue for Women- this was absolutely stunning scent, they discontinued about 10 years ago.

Nivea cream with Vit C- I forgot the exact name but it was amazing for a face and wrinkles, discontinue about 12 years ago.

Also there was Armani perfume Sensi which smelled amazing and it’s gone more than 10yrs.

Chocomel · 14/12/2020 21:31

Benefit don't do the Dream Screen sunblock anymore. I haven't found a strong sun cream that is liquid yet 'powdery' rather than greasy and making me look like a ghost. Anyone got a secret stash?!

Bluejeantreefrog · 14/12/2020 21:57

I loved Clinique Wrapping perfume in the 90's I wear Baby kiss lipstick have done as my day lipstick off and on since 2002 ish didn't realise it was now discontinued! I'm on my last half now, haven't bothered with much lipstick due to wearing masks probably why I'd not realised.
Also Tigi fast fixx hair protector spray was the best ever.

Housewife2010 · 14/12/2020 22:15

Clinique's Simply scent was lovely. I've still got a couple of samples from the 90s and they haven't spoilt.

thenightsky · 14/12/2020 22:37

The L'Oreal Elvive anti dandruff shampoo

Is that the one with the orange lid? I miss that too Sad

justgeton · 14/12/2020 22:54

Dior.. Escales de Pondicherry. WHY. Why when I get to my 40s and finally find my forever perfume do they discontinue it.

AngeloMysterioso · 14/12/2020 23:20

So many!
Neutrogena clear pore foundation
Bourjois d’un coup de pinceau liquid concealer
Bourjois rose coup de foudre blusher which was a great dupe for Benefit Coralista
Valentino V perfume
Thierry Mugler Womanity perfume
Ted Baker Woman perfume
Boots Henna and Horsechestnut shampoo and conditioner for brunette hair- it smelled amazing
L’Occitane Jasmin and Bergamote everything

IRememberMySpaceBabe · 14/12/2020 23:27

Body Shop Brazil nut body butter. My friend introduced me to it in 2001 and it cost £6 a tub, I was looking on the website the other day and it’s gone

nahdenmardybum · 14/12/2020 23:40

Another vote for
Gucci Envy
Boots botanics BB cream

This is really random but does anyone remember Marks & Spencer's Fern bubble bath from the 80s? My mum used to buy it and it's so nostalgic to me. I used to always give it a sniff every time I went into the bathroom as a kid. I loved it.

I do.. I think Boots did one too called Fern, and a whole range in yellow wrap, but it's driving me mad trying to think what it's called.
KatnissNeverseen · 15/12/2020 09:21

I used to love the Body Shops Coconut Shimmer body butter. It was discontinued so I used to buy it from Italy and now they don't have it either. I don't understand why certain companies discontinue popular products.

Chocomel · 15/12/2020 21:21

Boots had a range of trendy products around 1994 - I remember a
carrot and witch hazel toner that smelled AMAZING.

ChrissyPlummer · 15/12/2020 22:08

Boots had a range in the mid-90s that was based on sweet things, may have been called something like ‘Sweet Sensations’. I had a mint choc chip body scrub, a shower gel with bursting beads and a body cream that was like a cream and gel swirled together that were strawberry scented. Loved them and I’d buy that body cream again now!

Also Body Shop Dewberry & Fuzzy Peach. Why they changed and got rid of their best stuff I’ll never know.

Livpool · 15/12/2020 22:27

Gucci Envy
Chloe Love Story
Gucci remix (lilac)
Body Shop Moonflower

Boujois (sp?) blusher
Urban Decay Book of Shadows - had the best green shade ever that was great on my hazel eyes

dalrympy · 15/12/2020 22:39

Lancôme flash bronzer gel for face.

Gutted.

Yes it was called Forest Fern. Here is a photo of their range in 1985. I loved lemon stuff - why do they not do that anymore? Lovely lemon shaped soaps. Think Bromley might still do them at a price.

nahdenmardybum · 15/12/2020 22:56

Oh wow that's amazing! I think my mum had the matching talc too 😍

twilightcafe · 15/12/2020 22:57

I still miss the Sweet Lemon body butter from Body Shop.
Brilliant for dry skin without making you smell like a boiled sweet.

skeemee · 15/12/2020 23:11

L’Oréal lipstick shade 337. Sort of purpley colour. I am eking out last one of three I managed to order online a few years ago. Can’t get them at all now.

Calvin Klein Downtown perfume. Recently spotted at the checkout of my local coop for £9.99. Woohoo! I almost bought some in Geneva airport for £130 but balked at the last minute.
