Op I am sure you bear no resemblance to spuds. How old are you? What would improve how you feel about your looks - hair cut and colour, some new clothes, new shoes? Tricky arm but still sort of possible!

I have a 62 year old neighbour who I am agog at whenever I see her. She is sooooo cool. Really tanned, gorgeous curly asymmetric hair cut, tan leather accessories, leather wrist bands, voluminous skirts/dresses with teeny tiny cropped leather or denim jackets. Cross body bag always. Stompy boots. No make up to speak of except a statement lip.

I just turned 58 and I’m looking the best I ever have, not ground down or harried. No stealth boast here. I’m able to eat a healthy diet so have lost 10lbs; stopped eating refined sugar after a lifetime’s addiction so lost my jowls; left a key worker job which was so stressful; left my DH and I’ve let my hair grow in lockdown style. If I could tolerate wearing a bra (34k), I would feel positively Amazonian.

I think it is harder to look stlish when you are short, unless you are doing that elfin thing.

My NDN is nearly 70 but still works nearly full time.
She's also a biker.
She's a size 8-10, olive skin & long dark hair, wears mini skirts or long floaty hippy skirts with biker boots & vest tops; or skinny jeans, or leather trousers, cropped denim or biker jackets & plenty of silver jewellery.
She always looks great. She always has men chasing her...
I would be jealous despite being 30 years younger but she's a really nice person too!

Hardly overweight medically and im not complaining much but it takes a lot more thought and trying on and sending back to the shop and trying with a different belt or higher heeled boots etc

I shamelessly rubberneck at anyone I spot looking great - and if I get caught, I smile broadly and tell them I couldn’t help but look at their fab’ outfit - never offended anyone yet!

I’m short and, I like to think, still stylish. I’m also over 50. I think enjoying getting dressed and having fun with your clothes is the place to start. A little more than ten years ago I was carrying too much weight for a shortie and dressing in various versions of a linen potato sack. There was a day of reckoning when I thought ‘what I project is what I’ll be’ and promptly started wearing more fitted clothes, acting as if I felt confident even when not. I did lose weight and, post-meno’, seem to be keeping it off. I think my (rambling) point is wear what makes you feel great and the rest will follow.

Yes, i enjoy clothes and make up and earrings. Not in a vain way, but it's an expression, a signature.
One of my favourite times of my day is making my coffee and the putting on my makeup! 😍👸💃

this was me in Aldi the other day....women in front of me feeling the apples looked so bloody good I almost crooned over her. Iron grey hair, light tan, fab lipstick, trench coat, gorgeous silver earrings and battered brown leather boots

The women I know who look great when in their 60s-70s are all massive fitness fanatics. If you're in shape and have a great posture then that makes a massive difference when getting older.
