I saw a thread about what we accept we cannot wear, so I thought a thread about what looks great on us would be nice as well!

So far today, I look amazing in my pyjamas!

A really deep Teal blue/green. I look all glowy in it. I once had my colours ‘done’ and was advised to wear it. Not super practical to have your whole wardrobe in one colour (though I know at least one person who has).

BabyItsAWildWorld · 07/11/2020 13:28

Hats.
Pink.
Mini skirts

That sounds like a terrible combination Grin

I am 5 3' size 8, slim but with big boobs and not much of a waist, so I look best in fitted clothes, can't do floaty or over size.

Although looking at comments here I might give the midi dress look a go, I was presuming I couldn't do it!
I'd love to look like a prairie women!

dhisreadingmypostsagain · 07/11/2020 13:37

What a lovely thread, I'm the gym gear woman, just casual but quality gym gear, great trainers, hoodie.

Deathraystare · 07/11/2020 14:15

Dark eyeliner makes me look sultry, I even fancy myself when I have it on.

With dark eyeliner my eyes have no definition. As I have aged, my eyelashes have got very pale (I have dark golden brown hair) and also my eyebrows as well. Without brow pencil and eyeliiner I might as well not exist! Ghost woman!

gower4 · 07/11/2020 14:27

Fitted dresses and shirt dresses, because of my waist. I'm slim, but I don't look good at all in jeans.

Passthecake30 · 07/11/2020 14:43

Skinny jeans, jeggings, gym leggings. I’m 6ft, 10-12 with 36” legs so the length and slimness of my legs are my best asset. They are better wrapped up however due to veins.

ThoroughlyForumed · 07/11/2020 14:46

Mom jeans/boyfriend jeans. I'm quite tall with no discernable hips so tomboy type clothing works well. Jumpsuits too

LunaNorth · 07/11/2020 14:49

Skinny jeans with big clumpy boots.

Orange.

Denim jackets with a flowery frock.

Lily193 · 07/11/2020 16:17

Accessories - mainly hats and scarves. Black velvet flares but must be exactly the right cut and length. Essential to anything looking amazing is glossy, well moisturised skin.

Separatedandabitsad · 07/11/2020 17:05

Accessories look good on me too. I find earrings and necklaces look amazing as my neckline is one of my favourite parts of myself.

I'm size 10 5ft6 with big boobs but a very toned physique (I do 2 hours of training a day)

Gym kit looks good, swim wear and dresses

Things that don't look good are anything floaty not fitted and anything baggy

Lily193 · 07/11/2020 19:17

@Separatedandabitsad I love admiring other people's jewellery and how they pair different pieces.

Frumpypigskin · 07/11/2020 19:32

@SilentLamb1

Skinny jeans. Dark plum red lipstick. Winter woollen hat.
silentlamb1 can you recommend a dark plum red lipstick? I had the perfect one from Bobbi Brown which they have discontinued. I have been searching ever since.
Pinkandpurplehairedlady · 07/11/2020 19:41

Bright colours and dungarees, I have several pairs of Lucy & Yak ones and I always get complimented when I wear them.

Make up wise I suit nude colours and brown eyeliner.

Palaver1 · 08/11/2020 07:47

Jumpsuits and jeans size 12

Separatedandabitsad · 08/11/2020 10:15

@Lily193

That’s the lovely thing about jewellery — it makes the wearer feel better but it’s also very pleasing to look at for others. I love wearing nail varnish in bold colours too & it sets off the jewellery nicely.

I find a fairly plain outfit can look much more individual with the help of nice jewellery, even costume jewellery.

I have a lovely wedding ring & engagement ring that I no longer wear as I’m separated but I loved looking at them while I was married and they strangely made me feel happy! I’ve no idea what to do with them now.

I have a similar body type and I hate that I have to wear very fitted clothes or look as big as my boobs all over. I'd love to be able to wear more loose-fitting, androgynous styles.

Separatedandabitsad · 08/11/2020 10:18

@GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal

My boobs are average size but I have bony yet broad shoulders — I really like my shoulders but I’m the same. If I try to wear floaty tops I look waaay bigger than I am.

I sometimes wear one particular floaty top purely because I love it! I wear it for the style and forego looking slim that day!

@Monkeytapper

I find jumpsuits on me are flattering, I’m 5ft 7 and size 10/12.
Interesting. I'm a similar size to you, but shorter and they tend to look awful on me. Not sure if it's my height or the fact I don't have much of a waist.
Gwenhwyfar · 12/11/2020 19:12

I thought I couldn't think of anything at all, but then I remembered I found a leather jacket (my first real one!) this year in more or less the same shade as my hair and I think it looks good.

Onedropbeat · 12/11/2020 19:27

5ft4 size 12/14 (depending where I shop), dark haired, pale skin
And I suit...

Skinny indigo or black jeans
Ankle boots (preferably chunky with a heel)
White or black fitted tops
Blazer or leather biker jacket
And either a statement scarf or long necklace
I wear dark eyeliner, blusher and nude lipstick but have red nails

ZowieCavie · 12/11/2020 22:02

Slash neck tops they make my hair look longer too!

Separatedandabitsad · 15/11/2020 09:17

I’m going to root out some clothes I haven’t worn in a while to wear this week to work - just to give me a little bit of a boost! I think clothes can have a big effect on us!

I'm short, would love to find the hat for me. They all make me look like a mushroom or a flump.
I wear fitted coats all winter. Bit formal but I get loads of compliments and I just like them.
Not like anyone is going to see the rest of my clothes for quite some time!
