Ooh now, that's a good price for the 2019 Glossybox for anyone short of a multi-brand calendar. I had it last year so wouldn't want to open the same run of things but if not I would be snapping it up.

I had glossybox too last year. Definitely a good one. Great price.

applecatchers36 · 26/11/2020 23:27

Have just ordered the glossy box 2019 thanks Xmas a treat to myself, as missed out on the Nordic one on John Lewis, now sold out earlier in the day...

Salcara · 26/11/2020 23:30

LF are a shower of shits - placed a big spend order last Black Friday with them which had bonus gifts included with various products - didn’t get a single one of the gifts Chased and chased, they blamed everyone but themselves My family live not far from the warehouse / office in Wrocław so when I visited in February I went into the site. Never got the free gifts and was offered a 10% discount code

Never ever again They’re part of the Hut Group whose CEO just raked in millions

But I’ve just had a satisfying spend at Cult Beauty, Feel Unique and CT 😁

Butterymuffin · 26/11/2020 23:38

Latest in Beauty have Black Friday offers on their collection boxes too and you get an extra 15% off on top of that if you are a subscriber:
www.latestinbeauty.com/collections

There are some good items available on the subscription counter at the moment too that might work well as part of presents / stocking fillers. I do like Latest in Beauty for allowing you to pick your items - my selections always skew towards skin care and it means I don't end up with yet another black eyeliner / red lipstick etc that I'll never use. They aren't faultless but they do answer messages with apparent honesty.

One more story while we're going over poor service issues (I am still looking forward to my LF calendar but I'm not keen on spending more with them now). I know many subscribers aren't as keen on Birch box but their service for me has been great. One box arrived damaged and with missing items: I contacted them and they said they'd send a replacement. That didn't arrive within the window suggested so I told them and they said they'd send another. Next day the replacement box turned up and I thought it only fair to tell them and say they needn't send the third box- they said not to worry, it had been ordered and just to keep it after all the delays. No excuses at any point and understood that I wanted the products. It's one reason why I continued my subscription. The Hut Group are far less helpful when anything goes wrong.

@XmasLockdown Thank you for the link! I remember watching unboxings last year and Glossybox was one of the best IMO so I've ordered. Three advent calendars now... I wasn't even going to get one this year!

Beadley · 27/11/2020 00:18

Thanks for the tip-off - I caved on the Glossybox bargain.

ashmts · 27/11/2020 00:31

Glossybox 2019 now showing as sold out. I got my order confirmation through, hoping I got there just in time.

justconcedealready · 27/11/2020 16:56

ButteryMuffin I've also had good experiences with Birchbox. Last year I got the special offer with the November/December box/Christmas makeup bag 2 for 1. So I decided to sign up for the 6 month half price subscription they were offering as a black friday week special ... looking forward to half a year of very reasonable surprise treats.

I was debating between the Birchbox and the LF calendars back in september. Should have gone for Birchbox....
thelegohooverer · 27/11/2020 19:44

@OchonAgusOchonO
Could you dm me the LF executive’s address too please?

thelegohooverer · 27/11/2020 20:05

Can anyone recommend a replacement for the LF calendar. I ordered it for my dsis who has had a really tough year and wanted to pamper her a bit. I’ve no idea at all what’s what in terms of beauty products, or what’s available at this stage. Kicking myself for not jumping shop earlier. It’s not even the first time I’ve been stung by the Hut Group so I can only blame myself!

XmasLockdown · 27/11/2020 20:50

@thelegohooverer There are very few left but google beauty advent calendar and you will see some that are available. Selfridges has several (expensive) calendars still available.

Butterymuffin · 27/11/2020 21:07

@thelegohooverer Try this link on remaining calendars. It's from 2 days ago so some may have gone but it's a starting point.

Also look at the Black Friday deals to see whether there's a box you think she might like.

@thelegohooverer - I dm'd you.

If you're not committed to an advent calendar, the cewuk beauty box looks great. I ordered one as a replacement for my calendar. It is £168 though. Alternatively, the Hearst Magazine red beauty box is reduced from £60 to £30 and also looks fantastic.

The Lumene advent calendar is still available from their site but it's all one company so I don't think it would be a good substitute.

You sound like a lovely sister. I hope you get something for her.

thelegohooverer · 27/11/2020 22:30

Thanks @OchonAgusOchonO

justconcedealready · 28/11/2020 12:24

Sadly for anyone who was thinking about it, the Hearst Red Beauty Box is back up to £60. It was a BF deal.

AliceinBunniland · 28/11/2020 13:19

Charlotte Tilbury has mystery boxes for 50% off. Bit of a gamble but it says it has 9 full size products on so thought I'd give it a go so ordered the "Hollywood" one.

Orcadianrythyms · 28/11/2020 15:27

I need to hide this thread!!! I bought the Iconic Mystery Box and justified it by hoping it has the Pillow Talk lipstick that I was going to buy. I've got a problem Grin

Ponks · 28/11/2020 15:35

Really Ree's website says the Iconic box has pillow talk in, so you're in luck @Orcadianrythyms 😊.

Also 20% off Harper's Bazaar beauty box (Hearst magazines), it's £100 but has 18 products including full size Strivectin eye cream , which is amazing.. my credit card is twitching!

Housewife2010 · 28/11/2020 16:23

Are they still giving away a free palette with a £95 Charlotte Tilbury spend? They were giving three different palettes away this week in my daily CT emails. Yesterday it seemed pretty good value to get the £99 box if you liked the lipstick and palette that had been revealed and the free palette. They made up more than the £95 so the mystery items would all be a bonus. If the lipstick hadn't been Pillow Talk ( which I have and am not keen on) I would have been very tempted.

AliceinBunniland · 28/11/2020 17:14

@Orcadianrythyms @Ponks Yes the website tells you two of the products so each one has an eye palette and the iconic one has PT lipstick. I ordered from CT on Monday as well!! It came on Wednesday and I ordered the set of three lipsticks where you can choose the colours and I ordered pillow talk medium as one of them so I wasn't as fussed for that but I hope at least half of the products will be ones I will use. I also got the iconic eye palette in a good deal on Monday so I thought the iconic might have duplicates for me but I don't really know what to expect. I may give some away as gifts if they're not for me.

@Housewife2010 No it doesn't appear to be on now. I did well with my Monday order as I basically got two free palettes.

cologne4711 · 28/11/2020 17:25

Well here we are, finally nearly 1st December! My Lumene calendar arrived weeks ago and I finally took the outer packing off it today (good thing they'd sent the right thing as I'd not checked until now!).

Roll on Tuesday and I can start opening the goodies!

AliceinBunniland · 28/11/2020 17:34

I'm looking forward to opening my calendars too but haven't decided which one to open. I am tempted to open both in December (H&B and LF)
