Did they offer you any compensation?[/quote]
No, of course not. And I only subscribed to the beauty box to get the reduced price on the calendar. I should at least get that back.

I've asked them to call me again and I will suggest that. Like you, it's the lies and deception that annoy me the most.

BuffaloMozzerella · 24/11/2020 19:16

Just realised I misunderstood about the new thread. I thought you meant setting up a separate one where we can bitch about LF 😆.

The CEW box looks lovely but I don't think I'll buy it. I'm only new to beauty and one of the things I liked about the LF one was the range of products and relatively low cost.

OchonAgusOchonO · 24/11/2020 19:22

Just ordered the CEWUK one. Hopefully I will have it by dec 1st but if not, I can put the other bits in the earlier days until it arrives. It should be with the redistribution centre on thursday and An Post are generally pretty quick at getting it over after they receive it.

The offer's still there if you change your mind!

Thank you. I really appreciate that but with the run around they gave me, I don't think I would enjoy it at this stage.

I'm thinking of ordering a LF voodoo doll at this stage...

I've just seen the Birchbox Black Friday deal, valid for this week: 50% off a 6 or 12 month subscription plus a free beauty crop pallet with the code BEAUTYFRIDAY. Caved and ordered a 6 month subscription for myself as a present, as works out to just over £6 a month. Can cancel it in the last month.

justconcedealready · 24/11/2020 22:14

Very sorry to see that LF failed some of you so badly. Really poor on their part not to try to do better by you, especially knowing they'd been rather dishonest in the run up to cancelling your calendars entirely.

Stirmecrazy · 24/11/2020 22:49

Sorry to hear LF has let you both down . If you have a spare empty advent calendar around or are looking for another beauty fix. Hearst Magazines are doing their beauty boxes half price the RED beauty box looks quite good and is 17 items for £30

That does look good. I've just ordered the CEWUK one though and plan on filling an old calendar with that.
OchonAgusOchonO · 25/11/2020 10:32

The CEWUK beauty box will be delivered to the AdressPal (smiler to Parcel Motel) depot tomorrow. Then it's see how long An Post takes to get it here. They're usually pretty quick, although a bit slower at the moment with everyone and their mother doing online shopping. I may have it for the 1st, but as there are only 20 items in it, I have to fill 4 drawers with other stuff so I'll be fine so long as it's here by the 5th.

beautyboxaddict · 25/11/2020 11:26

Ochon I promise you that even if it is late it’s worth waiting for. It’s a really great curation

OchonAgusOchonO · 25/11/2020 13:14

@beautyboxaddict - I'm really looking forward to it. Dh has been instructed in his duties in filling the box for me.

OchonAgusOchonO · 25/11/2020 15:55

Update: I have finally spoken to a customer relations exec in LF who agreed they were a disgrace and I was treated appallingly badly. Apparently, me and one other person had a worse experience than everyone else in terms of getting the run around but I suspect that is simply I and one other person persistently harassed them to get updates.

The long and the short of it is I have been offered a small sum of store credit. She did ask me not to mention the amount on social media and I agreed without really thinking so I won't say the amount on here. It's nowhere near the price of the advent calendar but will buy a couple of bits I need.

I'm still annoyed with their appalling service and will not be buying from them again but I do feel a bit placated that she did agree that the service and the treatment by their customer service team was appalling and that they will be looking at their processes to improve them.

@BuffaloMozzerella - if they haven't been in touch with you to offer you compensation, get on to them. Ask to be put in touch with a customer relations exec.

AliceinBunniland · 25/11/2020 16:16

That's good Ochon but it really shouldn't have been such hard work. At least they acknowledged it

OchonAgusOchonO · 25/11/2020 16:43

No, it shouldn't. It's still left a bad taste but acknowledgement reduces that slightly.
BuffaloMozzerella · 25/11/2020 17:18

I'll give them a buzz tomorrow. I'm glad you have received some sort of compensation for their terrible service.

I can't believe though the only two people who have been treated especially badly have somehow ended up on the same thread. I'm sure there are loads out there. What a load of BS.

OchonAgusOchonO · 25/11/2020 17:32

Total load of BS. Although she did say lots have been treated badly but I and one other especially badly....

I reckon everyone was treated equally badly but her measure is based on the frequency of communication so less persistent people are considered to have been treated less badly as LF had less opportunity to be gobshites.

I ordered the Lookfantastic Beauty chest last month which contained 11 products. I ended up getting a three month beauty box subscription too to get it cheaper. When I opened it the Natasha Denona palette (worth £41) was smashed. I got in touch with LF. They told me that because their products come from an overseas warehouse rather than a shop they can be "dirty, dusty or have minor damage to the packaging". Apparently that was what was wrong with my smashed palette. It was just "dirty" which was ok. I sent them more photos and complained again. They offered me a £3 partial refund for an unusable palette which had been the item I was most looking forward to. They also said I could return the whole chest ( which I hadn't used) for a full refund. I was tempted but they refused to cancel my final beauty box so I would have paid £45 for three beauty boxes which I only ordered to get the chest cheaper. ( The October one was very good but the November one was rubbish). I would also get just £85 back for the chest rather than £100 due to the beauty box offer. They offered to send me a replacement palette but it would take "at least 30+ days" as it would be sent from the stockists despite the fact it is available on the site. I don't know why they couldn't just have sent me a replacement straightaway. I've been waiting ten days for the palette now. I can't use the other products incase it doesn't turn up and I have to send the whole chest back. Lookfantastic are not definitely NOT fantastic! - Rant over.

That is absolutely awful. I would suggest taking to twitter and demanding to speak to a customer relations exec
MiaN · 26/11/2020 05:42

that's terrible.

I did few makeup orders recently from Space NK & Selfridges and Pat McGrath and all were slow or still waiting for delivery. Understandable around Chrismtas. However Cult Beauty have been amazing - they will be my prefered company to order from going forward.

Cocopogo · 26/11/2020 09:22

I’m looking for an advent calendar with a range of skin care products, like the M&S one to gift to someone who usually uses Clarins but wants to change to another product but isn’t sure what so can try different brands in a calendar

OchonAgusOchonO · 26/11/2020 09:39

@Cocopogo - there's not a lot left. Lumene is still available but is a single brand www.lumene.com/new-in/beauty-advent-calendar---24-nordic-beauty-surprises-2020-82880.html

There are a couple of beauty boxes though if they are of interest. The Hearst magazine red box (£30) and the CEWUK box (£168) mentioned upthread are both available and look really good.

BuffaloMozzerella · 26/11/2020 09:50

@OchonAgusOchonO Did you just phone LF yourself or did you ask for a customer relations exec to call you?

AliceinBunniland · 26/11/2020 09:58

Charlotte Tilbury eye palettes are 2 for the price of 1 today

I ordered some things on Monday and they arrived yesterday, which I thought was really quick.
