I should have taken a pic @Niftythrifter ! But thanks so much for the recommendation I think I was feeling sorry for myself a little as I've obviously put on the pounds over Christmas ! They were great quality and such a nice colour!

@Roxie99 ah no! I think you can ask them to do a search for items in other branches and ask for the item to be transferred to your local branch.

@Roxie99 agree about the quality. I think they have straight leg jeans in the newest Any Day range just with a proper jeans hem rather than a distressed hem.

Thanks @Niftythrifter I will continue a search but I got some F + F jeans ages ago as PP mentioned and they fit so well but are skinny but I still wear skinny jeans (slim just don't seem to suit me or the mom jeans!) so all good but they are flattering and nice length so with boots etc look great so went and got the black ones so I have both now. Obviously in the Short option! Also got a pair of coated jeggings that I never thought I would buy (tried on many pleather, leather, you name it) but these ones I tried on today regular might need a little folding at the bottom or you could even do without (I am 5'1/2). I've linked the jeans I have in blue and black.

Also this winter marks and Spencer have been brilliant with their shorter and petite length midi dresses. They had been a disaster for the past few years with terrible petite offerings. I've three midi dresses now and zero alterations needed and getting loads of compliments. Hopefully they will do summer versions

@SparkyBlue The thing with the petite length in M and S is that it all seems to be online rather than in store or at least in my experience.

@Niftythrifter we don't have any M&S where I am so it's all online for us all unfortunately

I got jeggings in m&s last week in short and they are properly short. I'd say 26"
Also got 7/8 length leggings which are perfect. Plus a lovely jumper. Good shopping experience especially as I didn't plan to buy woops.
