Bought this cardigan yesterday from fat face and it is perfect petite length for those shorter in body! www.fatface.com/women/clothing/knitwear/heather-marled-cardigan/958905.html Very warm and goes with everything (I got the Ivory) thought I would share!

Ps. I don’t tuck mine in 😂

@icklekid I looked at that cardigan but ended up getting something similar from H&M conscious line which was recycled stuff and only £24.99. I really like it . It's labelled beige but really isn't, and it's soft and cosy, great for over dungarees so far! And it sits just a bit below my waist which for me is perfect here

mirage937 · 30/10/2020 08:24

Ive just found this thread after searching about Didriksons parka, what size would you say the 170 youth version is? 10/12? and is it 3/4 length

I was wondering this as well, also been looking at north face children’s parka, has anyone come across black ankle boots with laces & maybe a buckle or two in a size 35 -35.5 preferably but without being too clumpy looking as I start veering into Olive Oyl/Max Wall impression territory.
mena51 · 30/10/2020 13:15

Just reporting back. Seasalt petite trousers fit me (5 f t1, petite 4-6) very well and are true to size, the length is perfect too. I'm delighted.

Sezane - Depends on the style, I tried on a couple of jumpers and the XS generally fit like a S. Quality is good.

dontcallmelen · 30/10/2020 16:22

Ooh Mena that’s good to know, glad you are happy with them it’s a blinking mission getting trousers that fit, how are they on the hips that’s where I find the issue is with trousers, I have no hips & so many clothes appear to come big on the hips.

Stumpedasatree · 01/11/2020 11:51

Hi fellow petites. I'm looking for a jacket / coat that is both practical, warm and slightly stylish if possible. I'm 5ft3, size 6-8, short torso, long legs, inverted triangle shape i think.

I got this Columbia jacket which is warm and waterproof, and fits well, but definitely not stylish?! Keep or is there a better option? I don't normally buy specific petite sizes as I have long legs for my height, but a coat for a tall person would probably swamp me.

@Stumpedasatree, I actually like that. It's slightly fitted, so definitely not duvet territory. Navy a good classic colour.
I just wonder (my old lady character coming out here) whether it's long enough? Wet thighs not a good thing. (That sounds like I've veered into another kind of thread).
I've got one of these and really like it - I am similar height to you and it's a bit longer. But if you don't mind a damp thigh, don't worry www.trespass.com/faithful-womens-parka-jacket?gclid=CjwKCAiA-f78BRBbEiwATKRRBGnkdtiMVfirDZNLLoKg7BDkfhYBPxfub5U1Cz-NxYRgV2tK2YMDghoCOK8QAvD_BwE#color_code=Dark+Grey&size_legacy=S

@mirage and @dontcallmehelen, I tried a Didrikson's 160cm. The quality was fantastic but it was too short for my taste - I wear lots of knee length/slightly shorter dresses, so want something knee-length. Also the waist sat too high, even for me. But I think it might be worth trying if you like a different look.

So, my solovairs have arrived. They are only 3.5. But I'm not sure I can get away with them. I wore DMs as a young thing and didn't bat an eye. But now I'm not sure they look too much?

Completely understand. When I first got them I made my husband pause his movie and sit through my fashion show as I modelled different outfits to go with the boots Grin. I had never owned any type of chunky boots before so it took me a whole weekend to decide to keep them. Even after I wore them out the first time I still wasn’t completely sure!

I think it looks great on you but you need to feel comfortable.

dontcallmelen · 02/11/2020 14:41

@Stumpedasatree I think it looks really good you👍🏼 From me.
@popularinthe80s agree with Coffee I really like them & don’t think they look clumpy, maybe wear them indoors with different outfits & see how you feel about them.
The coat conundrum, I was think the same about a children’s coat could be a bit short/waist in the wrong place, I’m after a knee length, really warm but not to heavy, water repellent would be a real bonus & not black I think I’m looking for something that probably doesn’t exist.

Stumpedasatree · 02/11/2020 14:53

@popularinthe80s the boots look great! How do they look with midi length if you wear that length? You're lucky to have small feet, I'm barely 5ft 3 and have size 6 feet!

Argh I don't know about this coat now. I have it all packed up to return it and have been thinking about the Uniqlo down one instead. I'l have another think.

popularinthe80s · 02/11/2020 16:20

@Coffee4Queen, @dontcallmelen and @Stumpedasatree. thank you for vote of boots approval. I think I need to get used to the look (again).

@Stumped, your feet look perfectly in proportion in that photo. I definitely didn't look at your photo and think JESUS that woman's feet!

Re: coat dilemma, I think it's neat and nice. But if you're wavering, can you go back to first principles: what do you need it to do?

I really would rec looking at Trespass ones - not because I work for them. (I actually work for the NHS, ha ha). But because their XXS/XS/S sizes seem to work for me and two petite friends. I think the XXS is really teenage size.

First time trying faux leather bottoms and I’m really not sure. I want to check if the folds around the crotch area look odd. They are trousers not leggings so maybe I should try leggings instead for a smoother look.

I got faux leather leggings from Topshop and find them really flattering. High waisted, bum sculpting and they come in petite length. Plus slightly fleecy lining so they are nice and cosy!

TooMinty · 06/11/2020 12:52

I think those are too loose/big on you x

Coffee4Queen · 06/11/2020 13:59

Thanks TooMinty the size down is out of stock but will have to keep this one anyway. My bastard cat decided to attack it when I was repacking. There’s a scratch on the side so I can’t return it. Bloody cat! Oh well will just have to wear it with long tops.

TooMinty · 06/11/2020 15:14

Pesky cat 🐈

Sooverthemill · 07/11/2020 14:28

@Coffee4Queen try yanking them up so they fit higher on your waist. I can't see the waist at all but is there a waist band you can put a belt through? I really want a pair of Baukjen leather trousers but I cannot justify the cost . I have faux leggings which I like but actual leather would be awesome

Just posting a pair of Baukjen jeans to show that even though I'm 5'1 I can make them work for me in case that helps!

Great thread!
My contribution is Noisy May petite on ASOS. I've had really nice black skinnies from there that fit really well and have really lasted. The blue ones were a bit more iffy though.
I've been trying to buy their coated skinnies but they are always sold out.

Coffee4Queen · 09/11/2020 09:23

@Sooverthemill I tried that & my belly does prevent it from slipping down Grin but the folds are still there. I do have plenty of long jumpers so will get a lot of wear out of them.
