Please help me find a Scotland elopement wedding dress....!

Hello!
Due to a change of wedding plans I’m looking for a fabulous dress to get married in, hopefully on the beach, in December, in Scotland - just the two of us. I’m having another more weddingy dress made which will be used for a big party next year - an Angelina Colarusso design. I don’t want to spend a huge amount as the other dress is expensive - maybe up to £5-600. I love the idea of a colour - green/blue and something that will waft gracefully in the force 10 hurricane we’ll most likely have on the day Grin. I’m 5’9” and size 14/16. Short waisted so prefer no waistbands. You lot were so helpful in persuading me to go with the “main” dress and I’m hoping the fab S&B bunch will come up trumps with a stunning, wafty number!

@Pigeon - yes I like the idea of a Scottish shawl/cape and simple dress but I still want a bit of waft/or train/something to make it feel a bit weddingy

@Goalpost - mustard velvet sounds lovely!

As others have said it will be freezing. Whatever dress you choose you'll want it to be long sleeved, high collared and long so you can wear max thermals underneath. It will be amazing though, Im every jealous!

@ForthPlace - love the colour of the purple Silk Fred but it’s not available in my size.

@ItsAllGoingToBeFine - your name sums it up! I will be fine! I won’t be outside that long and am very stalwart.

If you are sailors then you already have suitable clothing to wear on a Scottish Beach in December Hmm.

I’m sorry but waftiness, chiffon and velvet isn’t going to work. You can have the outfit and indoors or a dry suit and the beach. You need to choose.

S00LA · 03/10/2020 11:26

Have the wedding INSIDE here and waft all you want. There’s a lovely beach too in case it’s hot and sunny.

@Updownin that cloak is gorgeous!

Phwooooar · 03/10/2020 11:34

@SOOLA yes we have lots of wet weather gear Grin but I think I can manage a bit of velvet or something

I used to have a full length velvet evening dress with an asymmetric square neck and long sleeves with pointy bits that came down over your hands.

I’m imagining something like that, with the gorgeous cloak

NW2SW · 03/10/2020 11:35

Or a two piece

I also really love the chunky knit and wafty skirt combo, would work well.

@supercatlady - they’re too bare! Capes have slits so need something to cover arms!

Sorry forgot to check sizes 😊

Silk Velvet acid green Brora dress - fantastically cheap in the sales!!! Wear with boots and wine red wrap or a cape?

Phwooooar · 03/10/2020 11:38

@NW2SW - love the knit and wafty skirt pic - where’s that to be found?
