Please help me find a Scotland elopement wedding dress....!

Hello!
Due to a change of wedding plans I’m looking for a fabulous dress to get married in, hopefully on the beach, in December, in Scotland - just the two of us. I’m having another more weddingy dress made which will be used for a big party next year - an Angelina Colarusso design. I don’t want to spend a huge amount as the other dress is expensive - maybe up to £5-600. I love the idea of a colour - green/blue and something that will waft gracefully in the force 10 hurricane we’ll most likely have on the day . I’m 5’9” and size 14/16. Short waisted so prefer no waistbands. You lot were so helpful in persuading me to go with the “main” dress and I’m hoping the fab S&B bunch will come up trumps with a stunning, wafty number!

@BasiliskStare and everyone else - you know, I’ve had such a laugh with you lot and have spent many delightful hours looking at dresses and all sorts. The time and effort some of you have put into helping me out is amazing. I’m getting there!

Can you all just keep fingers crossed that Scotland and England remain open so I can get there on 19th and do the deed!! I’m not getting any more dresses for another occasion!!

@LadyEloise they look amazing - love the description which states they are good for dog walking... I have a Great Dane. Today he got scared by some kites people were flying and took off, pulling me over and dragging me into the mud. Think the cape is more for a different type of dog walker

This one has a slightly smaller chance of getting muddy, I suppose. Plus, I bet the graphite grey would look stunning on the Lily dress.

The Ballroom in The Plain, Oxford does beautiful long sleeved velvet full length dresses.

@LadyEloise @BasiliskStare yes the wedding has actually taken place! Last weekend.. was fab. We had sun, hailstones the size of golf balls, rain and freezing wind. Our clothes were so soaked my dress looked ombré - even better! Trying to sort out all the pics but here’s a few to show the outcome of what I eventually wore - everything as I was so cold 🤣

Oh and we had a double rainbow... and I just about managed some wafting before my veil blew away. My dress was too wet to waft

Scotland, Beach, December????

I live in Scotland- it's bloody freezing just now. Driving sleet, rain, wind and it's dark most of the day.

Oh @Phwooooar - just stunning - just lovely - the many investigations have paid off. Beautiful. Remember this in times to come as I am married 25 years - so probably why I was rather interested in your dresses - but you look beautiful. I wish all the best to you and your husband & you still have the lovely gold dress. Oh - just perfect - all best to you both .

And @Phwooooar the waftage well certainly in that photograph - just lovely - perfect all round. It tipped down on my wedding day - but they do say - raining on your wedding day is good luck .

@SirVixofVixHall thank you - I got the dress made by a seller on Etsy called Stylishbrideaccs. If you or anyone else ever wants a dress or anything made I thoroughly recommend them. The workmanship was stunning and they made the dress so I didn't have to wear a bra (so not much flappage 🤣).

You've all been so amazing helping me with ideas and offering advice - that I suppose is the wonder of Mumsnet when it's good!
