Hello!
Due to a change of wedding plans I’m looking for a fabulous dress to get married in, hopefully on the beach, in December, in Scotland - just the two of us. I’m having another more weddingy dress made which will be used for a big party next year - an Angelina Colarusso design. I don’t want to spend a huge amount as the other dress is expensive - maybe up to £5-600. I love the idea of a colour - green/blue and something that will waft gracefully in the force 10 hurricane we’ll most likely have on the day Grin. I’m 5’9” and size 14/16. Short waisted so prefer no waistbands. You lot were so helpful in persuading me to go with the “main” dress and I’m hoping the fab S&B bunch will come up trumps with a stunning, wafty number!

I’ve found this cashmere cape which could help with the waftiness over a suitable dress... what do we think?

@Updownin - just posted the same thing! It looks absolutely amazing doesn’t it? What colour dress underneath? Suppose it could be ivory with that over the top

Smile it will be lovely...I think it's very romantic
I know you don't want ivory but thought the tartan might work?

Those bombshell dresses are stunning - velvet would be lovely

Phwooooar · 03/10/2020 09:52

@NaturalBlonde - yes love the top half of that and the colour but really want long

The cape is lovely but a word of warning , you may not get it in time if it is shipping from states
Would try for a U.K. brand To be sure

@Articulate - what a beautiful dress - I really want long though

Made of wetsuit neoprene so very insulating.

How do you feel about mustard velvet with navy cape? I've seen a beautiful mustard long sleeve maxi recently but I can't find it now!

catsareme14 · 03/10/2020 10:40

@habibihabibi gorgeous dress ! I'm fascinated by the material it's made from , how ? Why ?

cataclysmiclife · 03/10/2020 10:44

Bombshell have some lovely velvet dresses

Pigeon31 · 03/10/2020 10:57

How about a shetland wedding shawl and then go for something more simple with the dress.

Atalune · 03/10/2020 11:04

@habibihabibi that scuba dress with the embellished sleeves in gorgeous. I would wear with cape over and then a fur stole/shrug over the cape. So basically layers. But gorgeous ones.

Wear thermal tights and boots and you’ll be warm and gorgeous.

Phwooooar · 03/10/2020 11:08

@MrsRoger - love the style of that dress and the idea of leather gloves... but it’s only available in a size 6 and there’s no way I’d get one thigh in that

Phwooooar · 03/10/2020 11:10

@MrsRoger - and the scuba dress! Could go for a swim after! However that is even smaller than the other one
