Empty- Molton Brown 100ml showergel ( Cedar something , it was blue) Sitting in the bathroom, part used and abandoned .
I'm having that ...gone now

I quite like a hairmask, I do the -dampen hair -apply mask- faff about an hour -shower .
Using a Superdrug Argan Oil one or a Hask oil (tiny bottle , only need a 5p size ) Towel wrap to keep the heat in. Swan about indoors .

I don't dye my hair now so I'm FREEEEEE of all that malarky but the trade off is grey hair which is hard work in itself .

Caggie09 · 11/10/2020 13:49

I do like a hair mask, but i found i would save them up for an occasion, and the truth is, i dont have that many events in my diary.. I use them every other week, i need to keep a routine with them as they would just fester..

Talking of hair products, Grow Gorgeous end split ends serum. I dont believe any product stop split ends. Just a good ole' haircut.. Meh, im not fussed its gone.

SportFX body build dry shampoo. Crap, it made me itchy and made my hair look worse🤢

Rodial Glamolash mascara. Was okay, overpriced i suspect. Started smelling abit off.. so bin it is.

Elemis Pro Collagen Eye mask 1ml. Im not a fan of this.. was sort of like balm texture, i thought it was going to be like a gel. Found it abit heavy for me. I have a 15ml pot to use up too.

Glow Recipe Avacado eye sleeping mask. I really enjoyed using this. Was nice and cooling, i thought my under eyes looked brighter too. Id possibly repurchase thidms again.

ememem84 · 12/10/2020 06:36

I’m not convinced re hair masks. I’m all for the throw them on wet hair and then rinse off 5 mins later” kind as I can do those in the shower. But the “leave on for an hour” ones? No. Too much faff.

Emptied:

Child’s farm bubble bath - raspberry flavour. I loved the smell but the kids hated the fact there were hardly any bubbles!!! Bottle says use 3 pumps and get loads of bubbles. I swear I had to use 30 and even then the bubbles didn’t last long!! Will probably only buy again if I take ds to the shop with me (this is how we ended up with it - hes 3 and we bought all the bubbles in the shop. One of each...!)

Also done is a bottle of lavender oil. Staple in our house as it helps for bath and bedtime. Must buy more.

Costacoffeeplease · 14/10/2020 10:41

Several empties plus perfume samples of L’interdit and My Way and a lip pencil, but I’ve sharpened it so much I can’t see whose it is, maybe Lord and Berry?

Impressive empties again Costa! What did you think of the Estée Lauder cleanser? I am a big Estée Lauder fan and I have three of these in the stash from various GWP.

Costacoffeeplease · 14/10/2020 13:02

I liked it, it was the first time I’d used it and would happily re purchase if I didn’t have about 8 cleansers to get through. The night cream was lovely and I’m using the night eye repair

WellTidy · 14/10/2020 13:57

Glad to hear that Costa. I use the night cream regularly and have just bought a massive advanced night repair serum to use with it.

I’ve used loads and loads of brands this year (100+ items from the stash used this year) and Ive found that I am coming back to Estée Lauder pretty much every time for skincare, save for Elemis cleansers and masks and Garnier micellar water.

Experiment627 · 16/10/2020 11:20

Ooopsie! Fell of my own thread again 🙈🙈🙈

@Caggie09 am well jel of your haul!

Welcome @BookSkark !!!

😬😬😬😬I really don't have a methodology for using up my stash - although I try to not have things open for too long.

@stepmotherofone I am very intrigued by your disguising of greys method - please give more details.
I am trying to dye my hair less but there comes a point where the spray cover up just does not cut it and I have to go in with the dye.

I have two empties:

  • Botanics tripe age renewal eye serum: this was ok, sank in fast
  • Umberto Gianni Grow Scrub scalp scrub: I liked using this - the way the salt dissolves is very satisfying but this did not help with oily roots not make my hair grow faster. I also was not too keen on the smell.

I like the idea of hair masks but find it hard to find moments to use them or ones that really do anything good for my hair. That said, I once went to a Hammam spa day and my hair was washed and then a honey mask applied - I desperately wish that I had bought it as it was so so so nice. I am always on the look out for honey hair masks but have yet to find anything that compares.

God.. I could so do with a spa day round about now. Has been over three years I reckon.

One more empty for me - a Clarins exfoliating face wash. And very disappointingly, despite my huge stash, I haven't got any more exfoliators. Buying a new one seems to go against the "using things up" principle!

WellTidy · 16/10/2020 11:55

Always willing to clutch at straws - an empty: 750ml sea mods bath foam from Waitrose essential. Such a bargain, this at about £1.10. Great for everyday use and I don’t mind the Dc being extremely liberal with it at this price.

WellTidy · 16/10/2020 11:55

Sea moss

LivingDeadGirlUK · 16/10/2020 13:38

I've been awol, but I'm finally getting to the end of some products that have taken ages to use (mainly Soap and Glory, such good value for money).

I have finished a Calcot manor shower cream, 150ml which didn't really smell of much tbh. Now using up a Bayliss and Harding mini from last Christmas.

However I did have a little superdrug splurge, some bits from the vitamin E and Vitamin C range and a few face masks.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 16/10/2020 13:40

@BookSkark is that the one that smells like orange blossom? I love a bit of Clarins, once I get through the final throws of my S&G body butter I have a body lotion in the orange blossom scent to use and I'm so excited :)

LivingDeadGirlUK · 16/10/2020 13:49

Oh I've also just finished a 60ml Fuji green tea body shop moisturiser which I've been using as hand cream. I decided to use up all my little size body lotions this way so will move onto another mini of something next. The Fuji Green tea is a lovely light scent but I don't think they do it anymore. I think that is my last Body Shop moisturiser but I still have a lot of body shop products to get through considering its been a year since I started my MLM boycott.

BookSkark · 16/10/2020 14:04

@LivingDeadGirlUK, yes, that's the one. I'm a bit hit and miss with Clarins, but this is definitely one that I'd buy again.

I might just buy a cheap one for now though - the reason I have such a large stash is my tendency to only buy the more expensive products when there's a gift with purchase opportunity, so it seems a waste otherwise. Just annoyed that I did one of these recently and didn't think to check what I already had - that's why I need my spreadsheet!

Big haul of empties!

BookSkark · 18/10/2020 14:47

@Costacoffeeplease, I've got the Nuface Prep N Glow in my stash - would you recommend it? I was saving if for if I'm away for just one night, but can't see that happening any time soon!

Costacoffeeplease · 18/10/2020 14:54

I wasn’t overwhelmed to be honest so I’d just use it up, sorry

Ponks · 18/10/2020 22:17

Couple of empties:

  • Ameliorate body lotion, this is such good stuff for smoothing orange peel lumps on the back of the arms and legs. Got another couple of tubes ready to go.
  • Superdrug lactic acid , meh, wont replace as prefer Alpha H liquid gold glycolic.
  • Skinesis overnight facial, not finished but going to throw out as I just cannot stand the smell of it on my face, it is vile. Also has no discernible effect. Thank goodness it was only a 5ml trial bottle.
Caggie09 · 19/10/2020 13:52

Nivea micellair water- my HG now. Have already repurchased.

BS pear body butter- Not my fave scent.

Feather & Down breathe well bath milk. Meh , was okay. Would rather something that packs abit more punch..

Pantene Foam conditioner- I think im abit trigger happy with these sort of things, probably used way too much! I do like it, did the job.

Kate Somerville exfolikate daily foam wash. I do like it, but wouldnt RP in a hurry.

Also a Sarah Chapman sheet mask thing.

Im having a skin crisis, i squeezed my face and now i look really spotty. All this skincare and helps. Arggh

Empty no. 48 🚮 Emma Hardie Lift & Sculpt Firming Neck Treatment (5 ml; GWP) which I acquired in June 2019. It is a thick and greasy white cream with an intense unpleasant herbal scent, although some reviewers praise the scent for how delicate and minty it is. Who knows why mine smelled bad, maybe the sample I received was expired 🤷 I saw no improvement to my rings of Venus but my skin felt incredibly soft to the touch as a result.

Empty no. 49 🚮 Vichy Neovadiol Phytosculpt Face and Neck Cream (1.5 ml; GWP) manufactured in November 2018. It is a thick and semi-matt white cream with a classic Vichy scent. An ingredient to be wary of is adenosine which is a central nervous system depressant, and is used in skincare products to reduce the depth of wrinkles. I usually avoid this ingredient in the neck and bust care products, because prolonged use may result in overrelaxation and subsequent sagginess of skin which no woman needs in this area 🙅

A total number of products left in the neck and bust care category: 1 unopened but most probably expired full-size product.

soap and glory hand food 50ml hand cream with "sugar crush" scent. whilst nice and moisturising, i hated the scent. yuk.

am moving on to using up hand cream. i have a sanctuary one (also 50ml) on the go now. hoping i can get rid by this time next week.)

clarins 12 days calendar arrived yesterday together with free samples. but pretty sure that everything in here will be used up. so not a problem really.

was trying hard to use up a clinique hydrating jelly but struggling as really don't like it. its too runny. so that's been ditched. i gave it a good go but it was only a 20ml travel size anyway...

WellTidy · 22/10/2020 14:52

An empty: REN ready steady glow aha tonic 50ml. I think I’ve used another one of these up this year. I was nonplussed, as I am with pretty much all REN products I’ve tried (received in GWP or calendars).

Might try the Pixi glycolic glow tonic next unless anyone has a glycolic recommendation please?
