Finished a Lumene salt body scrub (20 ml) from an old advent calendar.
The scent was nice, it was quite moisturising, but the salt dissolved really quickly and it didn't do a whole lot.
It contains peat, so the shower needed a rinse after using this to avoid leaving little brown bits.

Those of you looking for acids look at Victoria Health garden of wisdom range. Apparently much better ingredients than most and great value for money.

I am striving to use things up. We have new furniture and my “daily” box looks scruffy. So need to use up what I have pare ot down and then buy nice things.

Finished a Kevyn Aucoin liquid contour wand.

I really like this one - it seems to have been discontinued and was getting some bad reviews, but it works really well for me.

Only issue is the price vs how much product you get - £38 for 5ml is frankly obscene. I bought it on sale for a much lower price, but I would not pay full price.

I have a few more in my stash, thankfully.

Another empty - I'm on a roll here (but that also means I've just started lots of new items so could be a while after that!).

Bought this after trying some of the other Caudalie products. Generally, it's a brand I like, but this one didn't feel particularly special - I'd have preferred something slightly creamier.

Empties for this week.

Body Shop Banana hair mask🍌. I had high hopes for this, smells delicious, but really didnt do much. My hair seemed dry after using itBlush, would like to try the Garnier one and compare.

Chantecaille bio lift creme. Oh wow, i loved everything about this. I looked glowy and looked foward to shoving it on my face and it was a pleasure to use. The £300 price tag though means i will not be ever buying this!

Generation Clay Purple mask. Just does what any other clay mask does. Used it once a week, and didnt dry my face out. Prefer BS clay mask.

Bath&Body works Eucalyptus body butter. Anything that smells like Eucalyptus ill take. The overall product was abut meh..

Revlon colourstay foundation. HG🧡

Superdrug Cherry Almond shower gel. I really didnt like it😬

An empty: Elemis Peptide 4 day cream 15ml - liked this, nice and light and did the job. But my HG is Estee Lauder Day Wear, and they're pretty much the same price, so I wouldn't swap.

Can't decide whether to move onto my HG Day Wear (a very welcome part of the GWP in Boots last week) or try the full size Elemis PCMC that I keep putting off for some reason.

Used up a Sunday Riley Good Genes. I enjoyed using this. I find the difference in my skin when using it. Looks smooth, glowy, plumped and healthy. Used to just using a glycolic toner, rather than serum. Not sure id repurchase though, but if it came into my life id wouldnt turn my nose up!

Estee Lauder day wear moisturiser finished. it was ok. it was a gift, so not something i'd buy myself.

My stash is small (funds and a v sensitive skin don’t allow for a large one), however I’m making a concerted effort to work through samples/minis.

To that end: Darphin Intral Soothing Serum - it’s alright. Wouldn’t purchase though, and definitely not for the RRP of £59 for a 30ml bottle.

Another day, another empty! I didn't mind this, but I found it a bit odd that you apply it before shampoo - felt like I was just washing it out. I think it came in an advent calendar last year, and while I wouldn't be upset if I got one this year, I don't think I'd go out and buy one.

An empty: Elemis pro collagen eye cream 5ml sample. Had a reaction to this about a week after I started using it every day, which I found really strange. But the skin below my eyes is now red and sore and covered in sudacreme to try and heal it. I used the eye cream up on my neck!

Using another Estée Lauder advanced night repair eye cream next.

Another little group of empties. The REN has a strange smell but everything else is things I’ve used before, mostly from calendars or GWP

That's a shame about the Elemis WellTidy - I've just started their peptide 4 eye cream and really liking it so far.

Had another empty this morning - a Clinique exfoliating scrub. No idea if this was meant to be face or body (suspect I threw away the instructions), but it felt so scrubby that I decided to use it as a body one, and it was quite good (albeit functional) for that.

I know Book and I’m really surprised. I’ve used quite a few Elemis hits but I’ve also developed a reaction to their day and night recovery oil capsules. I very very rarely react to anything so it’s a surprise. My neck is benefiting from the extra attention though!

Finished an Olaplex no 3.
I think it's doing something. Maybe.
I'm not good at using hair masks/treatments regularly.

I also think I have one more in my stash. But I have another open hair mask (Maria Nila Heal) I need to get through first.

I'm really not good with hair masks. Leave-in conditioners are just about okay (and my hair feels very silky afterwards!) but anything that requires me to effectively shower twice ends up at the bottom of the pile.

The other one where I need to make a concerted effort is face masks. In theory, I'm returning from home so have time. In reality, I get random video calls during the day, and only just have time to tell Alexa to shut up, definitely wouldn't be able to clean my face before answering!

Another empty: the Elemis day and night recovery oil capsules (seven of each) that I had a reaction to. All used up on my neck, chest and elbows (of all things). A bit of a waste but not as wasteful as them just sitting there, which they had been for a while!

I am useless at using hair treatments too. I had a massive tube of Espa pink clay hair mask and it took me tears just to use up half. I have a k-pac joico leave in conditioner than I’m doing a bit better with but that’s a hard work too.

Face masks I am better with. I put them on whilst the bath is running and then wash them off when I get out of the bath. When the DC were smaller, I’d put them on when I was running their bath, and wash them off when they came out. Ditto shaping nails and putting nail varnish on (I only wear clear, so no need for precision).

Babysharkdoodoodood · 10/10/2020 15:42

I hate hair treatments. I wash my hair separately over the bath as it's a faff in our shower (long, thick hair), so anything that involves bending over the bath for even longer is a no.

I used to do my nails regularly but haven't done a thing since lockdown so they're now a mess as well.

I'm currently testing gradual tan moisturisers face & body, so using them instead of my regular stuff. I do like doing the testing but it does mean I don't make any inroads into my stash.

YSL purple mascara finished. I love this. But only buy it as a treat for myself on occasion. I have a sample size Clinique one to use next. Then a smashbox one.

Empty no. 47 🚮 Bepanthen Baby Moisturiser for extra sensitive skin (100 ml; £4.50) which expired on August 31st, 2018 🤢

No artificial fragrance was used in its formula, so the scent was a bit off putting (even before it expired). I also didn’t like how it felt on my skin, but the cream was extremely efficient at moisturising and dealing with dry patches on my skin.

P. S. I’d also like to express my hatred towards hair treatments 🤚 We have quite a few new members, so I’ll quote myself from a previous thread: I hate sitting with my hair soaked in a mask, I hate rubbing ampoules into my scalp, and I absolutely hate styling my hair. That being said, I have 44 hair products in my stash, one half is GWPs, and the other half is me trying to become my fantasy self and failing miserably 😞

I like the idea of hair treatments but not the execution.

I hate dye so developed my own grey disguising method which consists of a colour shampoo mixed with hair mask and applied dry. It needs to be used at least once a fortnight to keep up the coverage so this is helping me to use up the many, many hair products I’ve got.
