@CherryMargo you have identical hair to me. Same concerns & curl type. Are you blonde by any chance?

I just looked up the price of the Oribe masque Shock Thank god you're paring it with a L'Oréal conditioner Grin

Today I will be trying Osmo Intensive Deep Repair Mask for the first time. Bought it from Luxplus recently. I was shocked at the gigantic tub.

Re: the face, I get TERRIBLE hormonal acne on my jawline which the doc prescribed topical cream for. It's helping a great deal along with the A313.

Has anyone tried Aztec Secret face mask? I'm waiting for it to arrive. Very excited by the reviews.

Caggie09 · 29/01/2021 11:00

25 out, 21 in😳

Used up some other bits and pieces.

-Sunday Riley Blue Moon balm. I enjoyed using it, but its not like the usually balm. Has a slight grainy texture to it, which i know some wont like. I didnt mind that, but found as i got to the bottom of the product the grainy parts didnt dissolve aswell when emulsfying it. It didnt last me very long, but only has a 3 month shelf life when opening, also cost £46. Its nice, but it's but worth the price tag imo.

  • Mario Badescu Glycolic acid. (Gwp) A nice Glycolic product, i know this brand isnt everyones favourite, but persobally i noticed the difference when using this. Gave a nice glow, and wasnt too tingly on the skin. I probably wouldnt RP though..

-Revlon foundation. HG. Want to try something more lightweight than this, but i always find trying new foundations risky, and covid is happening so no testers to explore..

PusheenLove · 29/01/2021 11:53

I probably wouldnt RP though..

Why? Do you have a HG?

For foundation testers, go on eBay. Quite a selection if you search "samples" in the beauty category.

Caggie09 · 29/01/2021 12:22

I wouldnt RP as i have a few acid toner products to get through atm! If i was going to repurchase any it would be TO Glycolic 7% toner. Cheap and cheerful! Also didnt think of good ole' Ebay, will take a look!

PusheenLove · 29/01/2021 12:47

I have TO Glycolic 7% toner, but haven't used it yet Blush Is it decent?

Caggie09 · 29/01/2021 13:17

I really liked it! I had quite bad eczema flare ups on my forehead and when i started using it ive never seen it again since! (Obvs not recommended that you put glycolic on eczema patches, but im a risk taker👀!) It will tingle your face for a few days, well in my case it did. But after so long your skin just gradually gets used to it! Ill be trying out Deviant Resurfacing liquid this eve, which doesnt have Glycolic in so ill see how my skin reacts to a different acid!

PusheenLove · 29/01/2021 14:12

@Caggie09 I have psoriasis, so this could get interesting..

I think Deviant Resurfacing liquid does indeed contain Glycolic?

Caggie09 · 29/01/2021 14:28

Ah yes it does, i didnt realise! Go carefully with TO though!

Babysharkdoodoodood · 29/01/2021 17:08

Some empties and partial chucked.
Caudalie. Large sample. Won't repurchase as it was too greasy.
Korres face wash. Was a sample in a box. Liked it so much that I bought a full size. Smells gorgeous and leaves my skin soft.
Clarins. Useless. Didn't do a thing and had gone a weird brown so in the bin.
Skin Sense. Brought me out in zits almost immediately. Was in the Cohorted box and definitely won't ever touch. Had a night mask as well but that reeked so I chucked it.

CherryMargo · 29/01/2021 19:08

@PusheenLove I am blonde, by choice not by nature! 😄 The Oribe hair mask is a newly discovered HG, so I’m yet to repurchase it, and I’ll wait for a sale/discount. Currently, I am using up other hair masks I have in my stash.

justilou1 · 29/01/2021 23:24

So much for my no-buy year. Decided to take my midlife crisis out on my hair. It’s now white blonde, and hairdresser has sent me home with L’Oreal Smartbond to keep it attached to my head and kerastase purple treatment mask to keep it white and a serum because it’s sauna-like humidity where I live and I don’t want to spend my life flat-ironing it. Millions of AUD. (We have terrible water here too.)

Babysharkdoodoodood · 30/01/2021 00:09

I have a small stash coming tomorrow. Ooops. SpaceNK doing a buy £100 and save £20 , so got some Aveda shampoo & conditioner , Chantecaille blusher, a couple of Nars lip pencils and a Kevyn Aucoin highlighter palette. Some were in the sale, got 2 small bottles of aveda free, used some points and so it came to £76.

BookShark · 30/01/2021 00:14

I've also failed on the no buy year. But in my defence, Space NK were doing a £20 off £100 spend, plus I had a £30 voucher. And I was on my last full size exfoliator, body lotion and shower gel. Or some other reason to justify it...

Had a few empties recently - a small Clarins body lotion (30ml?) and now onto the bigger one (100ml) which is fine, but not inspiring. Generally I find Clarins a bit functional appearance-wise, so I have to really like the product to go back to it.

Malin & Goetz facial scrub (full size). Another one that fell into the "functional but not pretty" category. I know it's superficial, but I want my beauty products to look nice in the shower, rather than clinical.

I think that's it, but I've made the rookie mistake of saving my spreadsheet to my laptop rather than the cloud. Must rectify that on Monday! Hair weekend everyone...

BookShark · 30/01/2021 00:15

That was meant to say happy weekend. But I suppose hair works in the context of the thread.

Experiment627 · 30/01/2021 05:39

@BookShark 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was thinking about applying a hair mask today.

I have some empties which I will report later but one, while I remembe, that I will mention now lest I forget:

  • Lush Full of Grace facial oil: love this stuff! No packaging (so I keep in a tin), warm in your hands then apply like you would an oil. Smells great and is very nourishing. Will repurchase as HG but have so many oils to use up first.

I shopped my stash yesterday - I have a lot of products to try out but I see this as an investment in my channel and Etsy shop that is my story and I am sticking to ut!

Few empties from the week:

  • Champneys intensive overnight hand butter. I like a richer hand cream overnight and this is lovely, sinks in well and not too scented. I don't use the gloves that come with it. Already have another on the go.
  • Revolution niacinamide & zinc serum. Meh, probably didn't use this regularly enough to see if any benefits, I know niacinamide is supposed to be very good for you but this didn't wow.
  • The Ordinary Alpha arbutin serum, got this to help with pigmentation but prefer the Medik8, just used this up more as a hyaluronic acid. Wouldn't repurchase.
  • Sisley black rose cream mask. From a gwp, small tube but lasted a good few uses. I used it as an overnight moisturiser not a mask, really liked it but won't repurchase due to price.
Experiment627 · 30/01/2021 10:00

@CherryMargo thanks for the info on recycling old make-up containers - I saw the box in a Tesco Extra and wondered about it at the time then completely forgot 🙈

Nice. Sounds like you had quite a good time Grin

Let us know what you think of the Aucoin highlighter palette. I bought his contour palette and was deeply disappointed. Nothing special for the price Sad

What Nars colours did you get?

@PusheenLove
Nars pencils are NeverSayNever. A sort of lilac pink , and Endangered Red. Both were a fiver each.
The Kevyn palette was only £12. I have 2 of his contour 'books' and I love them. Got them in the sale a few years back, as well. I use the really dark shades on my brows.

The chantecaille blusher is soooo sweet with an elephant on. I keep meaning to depot my eyeshadow pebbles into a palette as I have about 12 of them.

QueenPawPaws · 30/01/2021 20:37

Actually wore makeup today! Was a really nice look too, inspired by katie Jane hughes insta tutorial
