15 out, 3 in!

Diptyque Do Son Shower oil mini. This scent hold memories for me, so i love it in any form.. i found it didnt go from oil to milk well though! Rather splurge on the Perfume rather than a shower oil..

111Skin Rose gold sheet mask. Prefer these over any other sheet mask, not soggy or slippy on your face. Leave's a glow on the skin. Have 2 left in stash, which expire this year.

ESPA Replenshing treatment face oil. This has made me realise i want an oil back in my routine. My skin plays so well with an oil in the mix, why did i take one out?! Skin was hydrated and plump in the morning.

Not buying anything hasnt gone well.. Purchased Sunday Riley ICE. Think its becoming my HG, but it's £60🥲 Got it got for £45 though, so i have one in back up!

Dr Dennis Gross gift set, i wanted to RP the peel pads at some point, but rather pricey at £90 for 30. £67 for 21 pads, a fullsize vit C (which i like anyway!) and then a mini moisturiser. No more purchases now..

Experiment627 · 11/01/2021 10:15

Hello ladies! I have quite a few empties to report:

  • Radox Original bath soak: definitely my preferred smell from Radox but still not quite the smell I recall from my childhood (probably was not Radox though)
  • Fruity be Superdrug Cherry & Almod shower gel: ok but not that great a smell. My son enjoyed the bubbles - LOL
  • Dr Organic organic guava replenishing gel moisturiser: I did not like this at all - smell very sweet (too much), not a gel at all, took ages to sink in, used on body to get through it fast
  • Bioderma Atoderm Intensive ultra-soothing balm: I bought this for my son's eczema but not the best. At least it did not irritate it further.
  • Naturally Radiant by Superdrug glycolic sheet mask: really liked this, even though I am not a big sheet mask fan. Got two uses out of it.
-AHC Essential Real eye cream for the face: I really liked this until I looked up the ingredients. This contains a cyclic silicone so not great at all. I thought they were banning them from skincare????? -Nivea in-shower moisturiser: this is HOLY GRAIL for me. I am currently trying out on my son's eczema. -Essence Lash Princess false lash effect mascara waterproof: cheap as chips and absolutely fine to use -Foreo play for face (black): battery has finally run out. I liked using this although not sure if it performed any miracles -No7 Beautiful Skin nourishing hand & nail cream: not a fan of the scent, ok as a hand cream but not HG

I took stock (which took quite a while) and have given myself a Good Talking To Grin

Got rid of:
Garnier Banana Hair Mask - nice smell. Makes my hair softer, but probably far better (pricier) masks out there.
Imperial Leather Foamburst Unicorn shower gel. I thought I would really like this product but it was meh.

I had a few urges to buy but ordered some Aveda conditioner to send direct to adult DD instead of adding to my own stash.

I feel this is some kind of geographical displacement of my beauty hoarding disorder though!!!

ememem84 · 11/01/2021 10:55

i've started a new hand cream. body shop shea butter 100ml tube.

i have a pump bottle on the go too but this one will be kept in my work bag so close to hand at all times.

I tried a dark fish red/pink lipstick yesterday wasn't sure whether it suited but dh said it looked ok but wasn't sure it was the right colour for me. will persevere a bit on this one, but may ditch.

BlueSussex · 11/01/2021 11:06

Oh I love that hand cream @ememem84

I currently have three on the go - upstairs/downstairs/handbag!

CherryMargo · 11/01/2021 22:40

Here goes my first body care empty of 2021 📦 🚮 ✅ SVR XERIAL 50 Extreme Feet Cream (3 ml; GWP).

The products from the XERIAL range have various concentrations of urea (between 5% and 50%). This cream has a 50% concentration, hence 50 in its name. The cream is fragrance- and paraben-free, and can also be used on hands and elbows. I used it only two-three times a month and my feet were baby smooth! It does crystallise a bit in the tube after a few weeks but still works. It stays sticky for a while so I used it before going to bed, and put on the Oriflame moisturising cotton socks immediately after application.

A total number of products left in the leg and foot cream category: 1 foil sachet and 2 deluxe samples.

P. S. Has anyone tried Aveda Foot Relief Cream? I’ve heard so many good things about it, and I’m thinking to give it a try before deciding which one of these two (Aveda or SVR) will become my new HG.

Empty no 1 for 2021 is the mini NARS Multiple Stick in South Beach. I have been squooshing all the little dodgy bits down to the bottom and scraping them out with a brush. It’s ALL GONE!!! The mini was 4g and I thought it had lasted me over a year. On closer inspection of receipts, it was actually nearly two years. I couldn’t live without it, so I decided the full-size was worth the price. It’s 22g and will probably last until I shuffle off my mortal coil.

Pomegranatespompom · 12/01/2021 09:16

@CherryMargo I don't think the Aveda foot cream is that good. Not as good as Flexitol.

BookShark · 13/01/2021 09:26

A few sample sizes from me.

Verso hydrating serum - not sure this really did anything.

MediK8 3% retinol serum - I was a bit disappointed with this one as I'd never used a retinol before, so expected great things. To be fair, with a small sample it may not have had enough time to really make an impact, but I couldn't see any obvious benefits.

Sol de Janeiro Coco Cabana Cream - loved this. The scent might not be for everyone as it's very coconutty, but I really liked it, and the texture was great too. Definitely something I'd repurchase full size.

164 items to go. But I'm making progress!

And my go-to foot cream is the Scholl cracked heel repair cream - it's not at all glamorous, but it does work!

justilou1 · 13/01/2021 11:03

Because I can’t get Flexitol here I’m going to order the SVR XERIAL 50 mentioned by @CherryMargo for my hooves. The only footcream I can find here has very low percentage urea or acid, or I can get those awful Korean foot peeling bootie things that you soak in and then a couple of weeks later your feet peel like mandarines.

WellTidy · 13/01/2021 14:41

Recording my bodycare e,pties, as my face is now taken care of!

Empty - Roger et Gallet Fleur de Figuier hand cream. Loved the scent, as I like all things figgy. Did a decent job of moisturising, but left sort of a powder residue (maybe I put too much on). I wouldn't RP, as I like Body Shop argan oil and shea butter hand creams, and also occitane hand creams too (have five or so in the stash), and this was a similar price point to occitane.

BlueSussex · 14/01/2021 09:08

A couple more empties:
Beauty advent calendar shower gel Occitane Verbena. Smells divine but doesn't lather up as much as I like. I think I have a bigger one somewhere. I have about 10/12 shower gels left in the stash including minis.

Skyn Berry Lip Fix. This was pretty rubbish as is the minty one I also have on the go. I don't know why I continue to use products when I am not that keen. I think I must be frugal,

Doing this has made me realise just how disordered my hoarding and use of beauty products is. I have three lip balms on the go in the house and probably another two in handbags and another 3 in the stash. Same goes for lots of products.

This thread is good for holding me to account on my behaviour, as well as being so interesting finding out what everyone else uses and likes.

justilou1 · 14/01/2021 14:14

When your DD2 drops your barely used Natasha Denona mini glam eyeshadow palette on the floor and it basically turns into the herpes of the arts and crafts world, does that count as an empty? (She’s still alive, don’t worry....)

Caggie09 · 14/01/2021 18:45

17 out, 5 in.

A mitchum roll on has gone. HG for me. I dont whiff at the end of the day or get soggy pitts. What more could you ask for?!

Le Labo The Noir 29. This was from 2017 Liberty Advent. Beautiful scent, not found a scent similar to this at all. I loved wearing it. Sad it's gone, i probably wont buy though.

BookShark · 14/01/2021 23:47

I have to share my irritation with DH. Earlier this week, he decided he had patches of dry skin. Fine, I gave him a Clinique Moisture Surge sample size, he went quiet, and I thought nothing of it (other than congratulating myself for another product out of the stash).

But then today, what should come through the post, but a full size Elemis moisturiser that he's ordered. Does he not realise I have enough moisturiser to keep us both going for a year? And if he must order something, why order something I want to try, when there are plenty of men's options available?!

And the worst of it is that he didn't even order unnecessary extra items to get the free postage. I feel divorce may be the only option right now...

BookShark · 14/01/2021 23:51

@justilou1 maybe DH could adopt your DD2? Feels like they deserve each other for their lack of understanding.

justilou1 · 15/01/2021 04:01

How does your DH even know about Elemis, @BookShark? Mine would chew off his own leg before shelling out for that!!! (Yours has taste at least!)

Caggie09 · 15/01/2021 05:03

Ohhh Bookshark, it's the not orderimg extra bits that would really get to me! The waiting game now will be does he use it up in to its entirety? Or will it migrate over and add to your stash👀

BookShark · 15/01/2021 08:33

Apparently it was recommended on the GQ website - surprised me too, but there you go. I don't think it's the start of a full-on pampering regime, but we'll see how long the novelty lasts, or if it ends up being half-used and then coming my way!

justilou1 · 15/01/2021 10:13

I would nick it anyway!!!

Deathraystare · 15/01/2021 11:34

I have a feeling when I eventually move and unpack, I will be joining you. Mind you I got rid of a load - in our hospital, a lady was collecting beauty stuff for the patients. A large box was filled by me!!!

Deathraystare · 15/01/2021 11:55

Experiment627

I must admit I found the Nivea shower in stuff weird! Like you'd mistaken body lotion for shower cream! Did not get on with it.

Love the Wilco Princess Mascara though. I get the waterproof one.

Costacoffeeplease · 15/01/2021 12:28

More empties, a few full size bit mostly from calendars. Not sure about micellar water, I have another in the stash but can’t say I love it. Did like the Fresh cleanser and bumbum hand cream, also the Vita Skin vit c Eye cream, so much so that I’ve bought the day and night cream too (with Holland & Barrett Boucher) and really like the night cream. Haven’t started the day cream yet but hope it will be as good

BlueSussex · 15/01/2021 18:57

@Costacoffeeplease how did you get on with the Aveda Botanical repair? I can't see if it is a leave in or conditioner or something else? I have the damage remedy leave in but haven' t used it yet as I am making myself use all my sample/calendar sizes up firstso I have quite a wait!

I am also toying with the idea of buying some of the almond and cherry products as allegedly they smell like the old Vidal Sassoon stuff did (shows age)

CherryMargo · 15/01/2021 22:07

@Pomegranatespompom and @Bookshark thank you for the foot cream recommendations! 🙏

@BlueSussex I am also struggling with using just one item from a category at a time. I get bored quickly, and end up with several shampoos / lip balms / body lotions etc. on the go, and not many empties as a result!

Speaking of Elemis, I’ve used up three samples of Elemis Pro-Collagen Eye Renewal (0.5 ml each). It dehydrates skin after application which is counterproductive because dehydration is the first cause of fine lines. Also, it tingles quite a bit, and I’ve seen several reviews where people complained about swelling up, itchiness and even crustiness which resulted from the usage of this cream. On the other hand, there are many extremely positive reviews out there, so I’d highly recommend trying a sample first.

A total number of products left in the eye cream category: 1 deluxe sample and 2 full-size products.
