Finished Medik8 Advanced Night Eye cream. It was ok, didn't do much but also didn't sting when the skin round my eyes is sensitive. Unlikely to repurchase.

Experiment627 · 07/01/2021 06:51

@MackemLass79 me too!!! What dry shampoos have you found that are good? I have had so many HG fails it ain't funny!

ememem84 · 07/01/2021 06:53

@MackemLass79 @Experiment627 I’ve tried so many dry shampoos but keep gravitating back to batiste. There’s a reason it’s a best seller....

BookShark · 07/01/2021 09:38

Two more full size empties this morning which is quite satisfying!

Lancome HydraZen Night - I like this, and would definitely repurchase, I just wish the packaging were a bit more inspiring!

Elemis Sea Salt and Samphire Body Scrub - the opposite of the Lancome issue! The product was fine, but not noticeably different/better than other body exfoliators, but the packaging looked nice and sleek in my shower. Not sure I would repurchase as it was quite pricey, but I wouldn't be upset if someone bought it for me.

166 products to go. Sounds a lot, but a large number are sample sizes, so I'm hoping to start making some good progress over the next few months.

ememem84 · 07/01/2021 09:42

smashbox mascara has gone. this was ok - but did leave me feeling like i needed to pick it off my lashes (which isn't good as this then pulls the lashes off...).

probably won't repurchase.

DeciduousPerennial · 07/01/2021 14:59

L’Oréal lash paradise mascara finished and in the bin. Don’t like. Smudges like a badger in the rain, clumpy after only a couple of weeks, shape of brush is useless.

Need a replacement because I’ve also gone off Clinique high impact (but will revert until I can get a replacement and have used up some minis).

Any suggestions for a mascara that has some sort of ‘makes your eyelashes grow’ ingredient, but doesn’t have a stupidly shaped brush, or a brush the size of a bumblebee?

Experiment627 · 07/01/2021 16:13

@DeciduousPerennial 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 "smudges like a badger in the rain" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I like the Essence Lash Princess range but they have no magic ingredients in them

DeciduousPerennial · 07/01/2021 16:58

@Experiment627 honestly, it’s ridiculous. I have dry as a bone, peri menopausal face. I have paid heed to Katie Jane Hughes saying smudgey mascara is usually to do what you use near it. Still end up looking like my eyes are wearing a tuxedo by lunchtime. Thank god Zoom isn’t HD.

Experiment627 · 07/01/2021 17:55

@DeciduousPerennial you have such a turn of phrase 🤣🤣🤣🤣 have you tried waterproof mascara?

Makes my eyelashes hard and then they fall out when I try to get it off 🤷🏻‍♀️

12 products out, 1 in!

Purchased Sunday Riley Saturn face mask. Hoping it helps with the current spots🤞

Narciso perfume. No idea of the name, just in a light pink bottle. Im sad this is leaving my perfume collection💔 A lovely light powedery scent and ive had many compliments when wearing it. Bought on a whim in duty free, ill RP at some point.

John Frieda detox & repair hair masque. Feel abit meh about this product. Think there is better hair masks out there for a similar price..

Nivea clay fresh shower gel sachet. Freebie from a mag, find it abit drying for my skin. Using up a fullsize bottle atm too.

Kate Somerville Exfolikate. Used a sachet up and mini 7.5ml. Its one product i want in my kit forever. I had others in back up. Its pricey, but i love how my skin feels and looks afterwards. Im lucky my skin can tolerate the harsh-ness of the product!

justilou1 · 09/01/2021 02:48

@CherryMargo - I fell for the Orgasm hype too, but looked like Tinkerbell had attacked me with a glittery peach highlighter. Luckily it was a mini that came with the Orgasm lip balm which is fab. (Although I prefer the Laguna shade on me.) I ended up using the blush as an eyeshadow for a bit then donating it to one of my DDs who does the same. Meanwhile, the Orgasm Multiple Stick is a whole other ballgame! It’s my only Winter blush! (Also doubles as an eyeshadow/eyebase...) It’s not glittery and it doesn’t upset foundations like other cream sticks, and it stays on all day! I’m also going to throw out there that I wish that NARS would desist with the cheap and nasty wannabe pornstar names. That’s just not necessary and it cheapens the whole vibe of a quality brand IMO.

Pomegranatespompom · 09/01/2021 15:40

@ememem84 completely agree re batiste
@Caggie09 I have that perfume too - really like it. Think it is called Poudre or something like that !
Few empties from me - the Dior stuff was from a beauty box - don’t rate at all.
The rituals was a random purchase - really like the fragrance - very spa like.
The Aesop have cream - prefer the pink one.

I’m feeling like I need a treat. It’s all a bit dreary.

Today I’ve used up a full-size of LUSH Popcorn Lip Scrub (25 g; £6.50) which expired in December 2017 🤦‍♀️ This was the first time I tried a product from LUSH.

In August 2017 the Popcorn scrub was discontinued in the UK, so I am not able to re-purchase it. However, I doubt I would anyway. Even when this scrub was still new and fresh, it was too dry, and not finely milled, so it wasn’t really good at removing all the dry skin and sometimes the scrub’s larger bits were so sharp that they damaged my lips pretty badly. Maybe I just got a bad batch 🤷‍♀️ I found a way around its coarseness though (hate-panning makes me creative! 🤓) – I applied the scrub on top of a lip balm which made the experience less painful.

I have only one lip scrub left in my stash (woo-hoo!), and it is my HG! 🥳

@justilou1 haha “looked like Tinkerbell had attacked me” is the best ever description of this blusher's performance! 🙌

Thank you so much for the recommendation of the stick! 🙏 I’ll give it a try when I’m closer to running out of my winter blusher (I have two blushers left – one for winter and another one for summer).

And yes, I absolutely agree with you with regard to the NARS’ product naming policy!

BlueSussex · 09/01/2021 19:03

I really really need to get my stash under control this year - Lord knows what it is all worth Blush

I will go through it tomorrow and see if I can make head or tail of it.

ememem84 · 10/01/2021 09:13

Meant to count my stash yesterday. But forgot.

Today’s use up is a bar soap. A hotel freebie.

Gave my hair a wash with the purple shampoo today.

Experiment627 · 10/01/2021 11:51

I must say that I was not that impressed with the Nars orgasm either but then I am not really a user of blush anyhoo... so who am I to judge.

I have a whole load of empties - I will hopefully list them tomorrow- just at my mum's right now.

I am going to shop my stash tomorrow and do a GRWM with brand new make-up!!!!

Really do think we should lobby NARS about their usage of names such as Orgasm, Deep Throat (esp that one), Climax, etc. I know they’re being provocative in a trés Eurotrash kinda way, but the rest of the world actually recognizes and acknowledges about the abuse of women and children in the pornography world.

Costacoffeeplease · 10/01/2021 12:16

More empties. Still mostly advent calendars. Liked the Lucia Magnani and Ilapothecary creams. Although I like espa a lot I’m not keen on this overnight hydration therapy, it’s very sticky

DeciduousPerennial · 10/01/2021 12:43

I detest the Nars product names.

Experiment627 · 10/01/2021 13:06

@Costacoffeeplease what was the Bramley bodywash like? My mum got a load of their stuff for Christmas

OP posts:
Pomegranatespompom · 10/01/2021 13:19

Absolutely agree @justilou1

Costacoffeeplease · 10/01/2021 14:36

It’s fine, I can’t get overly excited about shower gels and the like though

ememem84 · 10/01/2021 18:53

Bottle of vosene kids shampoo done. I had to wash both dcs hair and endure the screams that happened. But it’s gone.

They scream because they don’t like hair washes. Why?!
