I'm still using a lip balm I got in last year's Holland and Barrett advent calendar 😊, they're another thing that takes aeons to finish.

justilou1 · 12/12/2020 10:26

@Experiment627 You can put it off for now. You have the other two. (But Laneige is better, IMO.) Meanwhile, I look like I need a liver transplant without blush on. My skin is so yellow-based. (Although recent trip to over-zealous hairdresser has left me with white-blonde hair, so I suddenly appear paler than usual.) Basicaly, I don’t leave the house without sunscreen, blush and mascara! (And a hat and sunglasses - such a sun-dodger)

Experiment627 · 12/12/2020 12:10

@justilou1 oopsie 🙈🙈🙈I actually mention in one of my GRWM videos that I keep SPF free for 15 mins a day to get my vitamin d in... 😬😬😬 I often leave the house with pyjamas on to when taking Kwicklet to nursery.....

Body shop Shea butter hand cream gone. This was just a 30ml one. I have a full size in the stash. But also have some more 30ml tubes to get through. Using pumpkin next.

I am determined not to buy any beauty products in 2021. Unless absolutely necessary. I’m not even going to peek at the sales on Boxing Day/January. Oh no.

justilou1 · 12/12/2020 14:10

If I lived in UK, I would too! I think we get enough incidental sun exposure just schlepping in and out to the washing line or the letter box (it’s not in our door, it’s at the front gate here.) I leave forearms and legs sans SPF unless at beach (almost never) or forced to be somewhere in full sun (I try and avoid that whenever possible - and have a parasol designed to embarrass my teenagers, so I don’t get forced into too many weekend sporting activities.)

BookShark · 12/12/2020 23:31

I've revised my no-buy policy sightly. I'm not going to buy anything I've already got e.g. moisturisers. But a night moisturiser is fine, because bizarrely, I don't seem to stockpile those.

BUT, the flip side of my plan is that I'm going to try and buy those things when there's a GWP going on, and then save the extra for an advent. Liking my Net A Porter calendar this year, but I've got so many samples stocked up, I could easily refill it - possibly several times over. So that's the plan - we'll see!

Costacoffeeplease · 13/12/2020 11:37

I’ve held off on posting these as most are from the lumene calendar, if you’re still opening it don’t look too close 😊

It’s an age since I had a empty, and now that I have one it is only a 30ml Elemis dynamic resurfacing cleanser. I love this - I have a full size replacement in the stash. I use it every other day and you only need a little.

I never have make up empties unless it is foundation or mascara (which just dries out rather than is empty). I use quite a variety of lipsticks, blushers, lip pencils and eyeshadows so I seem to barely make a dent in any one.

WellTidy · 13/12/2020 11:46

Wow Costa I am always amazed at your empties! I need to put more effort in!

WellTidy · 13/12/2020 11:48

My no buy policy for last year was only to buy a stash replacement. So I could have one on the go and one in the stash. If I have more than one in the stash, I won’t buy. I still have an enormous stash (due to previous build up), but it is definitely smaller than it has been in the past.

Carve-out for sheet masks. Just because.

justilou1 · 13/12/2020 12:37

Wow Costa! You’re doing so well!!! I gave away so many of my minis, and I still have half a Sephora’s worth, I think. I’m going away in a couple of weeks and contemplating just taking minis (but then, what if my skin craps itself...?) Why do I even keep them anyway? Maybe I should just pop them in with Christmas gifts...

ememem84 · 13/12/2020 12:56

welltidy I’ve had to make a concentrated effort to only have one “long life” thing out - a mascara a eyeliner etc. And focus on that one otherwise I’m like you they all get used and none finished.

Costacoffeeplease · 13/12/2020 13:14

I am heavy handed and so a full cleanse and moisturise morning and evening so the minis don’t last long. There’s a few things I really liked from the lumene calendar and may re purchase in future but for the moment I’m well stocked up in case brexit causes shipment delays 🙁

Experiment627 · 13/12/2020 19:57

Fab photo @Costacoffeeplease !!!

Boots lavendar bath bubbles gone. This was the dcs but I’m counting it.

Experiment627 · 14/12/2020 14:01

Everything counts!!!!

Two empties today:

  • Garnier micellar cleansing water: ok but I prefer the Bioderma one, I only use this type of product when I am feeling lazy
  • Cerave eye repair cream: really liked this - no idea if it helped keep the signs of ageing at bay

decided i don't like the smell really of the vanilla pumpkin hand cream i'm using. but it's a 30ml one, and i'm taking it everywhere with me and moisturising frequently as my hands are in an absolute state so it'll be gone by the time the weeks out.

also with me at all times is my lip oil. i am loving it. smells good. not too sticky. nice and hydrating.

PusheenLove · 14/12/2020 16:53

I just finished Pixi rose tonic. It was okay but I think there are better toners.

Ladies, do you think there will be some decent beauty sales on boxing day? I'm anticipating THE MOTHER of all sales. A Dyson airwrap will finally be purchased! Very exciting.

CherryMargo · 14/12/2020 19:10

@justilou allegedly, we use 0.0008 oz of blush per use. I have a product usage calculator in Excel, and it shows that I have 2.09 years of blush left in my stash.

As for KVD Vegan Beauty, I stopped buying from them a few years ago but I will use up everything I own from that brand.

@PusheenLove I sure hope so! 🤞 I am eyeing a certain coat which I cannot afford to pay a full price for, and I also need to place a Sephora France order before the Brexit end of 2020.

CherryMargo · 14/12/2020 19:13

Empty no. 66 🚮 STARSKIN Sunset Strips 3-Step Advanced Blackhead Expert System (8.7 g (4 g + 0.7 g + 4 g); £6.30).

I’ve never used nose strips before so don’t know how these ones compare to others. The pack contained two treatments. The 3-step process took 35 minutes. It was a bit of overkill to be honest, but sitting at home not doing much I didn’t mind. And I purchased five more packs during Black Friday.

PusheenLove · 14/12/2020 19:18

@10CherryMargo why don't we have a Sephora? Booo

justilou1 · 14/12/2020 22:05

Wow! @CherryMargo! I have about a billion years to go. It’s ridiculous! (Especially now the Hourglass Holiday lippies followed me home to replace the one I lost 😬😬😬)

QueenPaws · 15/12/2020 00:48

I bought a nars lip balm set. Oops BlushGrin

Caggie09 · 15/12/2020 12:06

I dont need anything, but i too, am looking foward to the sales! Ill have to reign the spending in next year though..

Empties.

BubbleT Gingerbread shower gel. I usually love the festive gingery winter scents. But this straight up smelled like a stinky candle. I used it as a bubble bath. Hated it.

Briogeo scalp revival shampoo. I liked this, a charcoal shampoo. It didnt leave my hair feeling striped or dry. But it also didnt help with my greasy hair.. I only wash my hair twice a week and it still gets super greasy quickly!

Essie nail polish. I have another in the same shade, so not sure it really counts!

justilou1 · 15/12/2020 23:22

How did that Hourglass lip duo find it’s way back to my house? (It’s sooooooo the At Dawn colour is the MLBB colour I have been looking for my whole life.)
