Gosh £50 @BookShark I don't think I could justify. What calendar did you get?

It was the Net A Porter advent calendar - a bit extravagant, but I've justified it to myself on the basis that I won't get anything big for Christmas. And it's a fun way to try things I wouldn't normally buy!

@BookShark lovely to get a different calendar. £50 for conditioner - hmm I get the aveda 1 litres and they last over 6 months but are also ££ please tell us about the products.
I’ve the Liberty calendar, I think I might get Fortnums next year for a change.

Guerlain Aqua Allegoria - Orange Solleia.
This was a joy. I am so sad to finish it. It’s hard to find a citrus fragrance with spillage, but this is my jam. It’s bright and fresh and never gets sticky. I will buy another one, but I have several unopened bottles of fragrance to use up first. (Unfortunately none are weather appropriate like this one, so perhaps I will hit DH up for a bottle for Christmas...)

@BookShark I’ve tried some Oribe products for the first time recently, and I quite like them, too!

@Pomegranatespompom the oil is currently sold out but I’m sure they’ll restock it soon. It is a brand-new Medik8 product designed to be used as a first cleanse, and is capable of melting heavy makeup. The main ingredient is safflower oil, 70% of which is linoleic acid which is friendly to oily and combination skin.

Empty no. 61 🚮 Grown Alchemist Age-Repair Moisturiser Phyto-Peptide & White Tea Extract (1.5 ml; feelunique’s Pick & Mix).

Tried to find something better than DE Protini cream but failed. This cream had really good ingredients but its texture and scent didn’t work for me: it was too thick and hard to spread evenly, it never fully absorbed, and it smelled like some sort of an old-fashioned medicinal ointment 🤢

@CherryMargo - try Andalou Naturals Hyaluronic DMAE Lift & Firm Cream. It’s a very similar airy, whipped, cooling, fluffy cream. (Tbh, I prefer it.) It’s so light and hydrating. MUCH cheaper.

Empty no. 62 🚮 Oribe Moisture and Control deep treatment masque (15 ml; Space NK birthday gift 2019).

The best smelling hair mask I’ve ever had 🥰 It is thick but easy to distribute across hair. It’s vegan, cruelty-free and safe for colour- and keratin-treated hair. Keep it on your hair wrapped in a warm towel for 10-15 minutes, and your ends will be feather-soft! I will purchase the full size if I don’t find anything better in the meantime.

@justilou1 I wish I could enjoy the Andalou cream but… anything with shea butter breaks me out really bad 😢

I used to think so to, @CherryMargo... This formulation is light and almost watery. But I can understand why you don’t want to risk it. Pity we live too far apart for me to depot some!

@CherryMargo - I’m taking my midlife crisis out on my hair, being inspired by this Canadian fashion vlogger (really intelligent thing to do when you’re on a no-buy agenda.... not!). Her name is Liv Judd. Dangerous! I’ve been eyeballing that very same mask as a Christmas present and wondering which of my three kids I’m going to have to sell to afford it. (Beauty & hair products are VERY expensive here in Aus. We call it the pink tax. Bloody ridiculous. It’s $92.00! Omg!)

@justilou1 would it be possible for you to get hold of a sample first? I really don't want you to spend so much and end up disliking it! I will try and get a sample of the Andalou cream, too! 😉

I have the clarins 12 days calender. So far so good. Although today’s was the beauty flash balm. Will use it but won’t enjoy the smell!

A couple of empties to report here finished a,roll on aptly named pit stick from actilabs bought from a mlm friend although i have to say i do find there products decent and am currently using their day moisturiser opened just yesterday to replace the body shop vitamin e day and night creams I finished and have not thrown out. I have a cath kidston advent calendar tho and therefore have so far added a body wash 2 hand creams body lotion and lip balm to my ever increasing stock of toiletries ha and dreading the incoming of more for Christmas. Does it ever end???

I’m doing a clear-out! So many lovelies, but I just don’t use them! Heaps of lipsticks that don’t get enough love, the Nars Afterglow Palette (everything’s orange on me - or super patchy. It just doesn’t work, which is such a pity as it held so much potential.) Almost all of my lip liners. They’ve just degraded. Bin! Lots of waaaay-past it mascaras. Gone. I still have far too much. I have discovered that my favourite Hourglass lipstick is missing though. 😢
