@TeatimeAtCloppa - I was working for the company that imported Valentino fragrances into Aus when I was a student when Very Valentino came into being. I feel ancient now that it’s considered to be “Vintage”. It’s marvellous, though!!!

Justilou that is so interesting. I loved it the very second I smelled it at a friend's house many years ago. I had never smelled anything like it. I keep my bottle in the dark and cold as I want to preserve it for as long as possible. Haha and yes I know exactly what you mean!!😂 I feel so old too when I think of how I used to wear Body Shop White Cotton and Gucci Envy. Nowhere to be seen now. So many of the scents I love end up discontinued.

I loved Gucci Envy :( never found anything that smells quite like it :(

A few empties to start the week!

Ralph Lauren Romance - really glad I've finished this. Not my sort of perfume at all, but bought for me as a gift. Hope that person doesn't buy me more this Christmas!

Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask - I liked this more than the day moisturiser. It was a bit heavy but for nighttime that felt okay, and a little went a long way. Would repurchase if I didn't have loads of other night moisturisers to use up first!

Zitsticka - part of a GWP and not sure it did anything. How can I be in my 40s, spend a fortune on skincare and still get the odd giant spot?! Life is very unfair.

I cheated this morning well sort of I binned 3 yes 3 lush lip scrubs as I found they laden my lips sore the mint julips sugar plum fairy and galaxy ones tho I loved the smell of them all so no more re purchase of them for me. Also started to take stick of what I have and so far I've managed to sort 33 hand creams I mean who has that many? And approx 50 full size perfumes from body shop white musk and next just pink 2 of my cheapy faves to lady million Prada candy and everything in between. I feel like I'm literally drowning in cosmetics of all description

They are my ‘thing’. I have them everywhere. I was given at least 4 for birthday. I’ve probably got more than 33!

I managed to run down my whole stash of handcreams the last year, and am now using smaller size tubes of body lotion up instead for my hands.

Hoping for some proper handcream for Christmas :)

@DeciduousPerennial lip balms are apparently my thing. i have so many. usually keep one in each handbag, and then one on my desk at work, one in my desk drawer, one in nightstand... all in varying states of using up.

@justilou1 all my favourite fragrances become extinct too...

• Agua de naranjos (think that is the name) - so hard to get hold of

I have two empties:
-Umberto Giannini Grow Mask: not a fan of the smell and cannot say I noticed more speedy growth

• The Pure Scent lime basil and mandarin candle: this is a complete dupe for Jo Malone, which I adore

I have - having just rummaged through my kitchen drawer and ‘surface tidy/holder thing’ - 6 in immediate reach alone. If went through both handbags that are down here, plus the coats in the cupboard that would be another (?) 5.

I think I need an intervention....

Ok. I need to use up at least 3 of those ASAP. I’m putting those on my list to get gone as well as the Lumene minis.

I have one in every coat pocket and handbag already! And THREE on ym dressing table!

The Vaseline one will be gone by the morning. I have a hatred of throwing things away until they are completely and totally empty - my husband thinks I’m bonkers.

@Experiment627 - I feel that way about all my favourite fragrances. (Trussardi Skin - omg, how I miss you!!! Also Christian Lacroix in the beautiful seashell bottle. Love!!! Heartbroken that they are gone!) Meanwhile I can still smell Gucci Envy in my mind. The company I worked for launched that one too. Lush! Loved Envy for men also.
I’m a lip balm addict. They’re everywhere. Every handbag, beside the bed, kitchen, both cars, lounge room, bathroom, and if my husband even thinks about digging his giant paws in my Laneige lip masks, I will cut them off! (He does not understand the concept of a “very fine film”.)

I've thrown out a Soap and Glory Thick and Fast mascara that was opened before lockdown, was going a bit manky. Could really do with a waterproof one but several others to use, moving onto an Elizabeth Arden one.

@DeciduousPerennial that was me with the 3e hand creams 🙈🙈🙈 its utterly ridiculous they were literally everywhere but largely in bedside cabinet drawer and I've millions of body lotions and potions ontop of that. Whoever It was that said they need intervention i think i may have to join u

I have some Ins today not outs. I needed a new moisturiser as am almost out of my Clinique one. Went to local dept store and tried some - long cotton buds handed out with a smidge of the product on it. Selected one but no full size left.

The sales lady suggested I bought a gift set. Containing full size moisturiser full size mascara travel mini charcoal scrub, take the day off balm, lip balm and an eye gel. Set cost £85. Moisturiser alone is usually £35. I had a gift voucher to use up. So only actually paid £30. Wahooo.

@DeciduousPerennial thank you for checking the scent of the Origins toner 🙏 and I am the same with regard to finishing products – I even cut the product tubes! 😳

Meanwhile, I’ve used up another foil sachet – Nivea Complete Care Sea Buckthorn & Vitamin E hand cream (2 ml) received as a gift ages ago, buried and forgotten at the bottom of a drawer, and expired in December 2015 🙈

Surprisingly, it smelt very nice. Thank you, everlasting parabens! 😬 The cream was very nourishing and absorbed incredibly fast which I really appreciated – I almost never find time/motivation to apply hand and foot creams because they usually take hours to fully sink in to my skin, and I hate when they transfer onto my clothes/items/bed sheets/carpets etc.

A total number of products left in the hand cream category: 3 deluxe samples and 1 full-size product, i.e. 5 years’ worth of use 😅

Finally an empty - 15ml le labo another 13 perfume from 2018 Liberty advent calendar. Only took about a month to use up, I should have started earlier. I wasn’t too keen on this until someone stopped me in Waitrose to ask what perfume I was wearing as she liked it! And then I started appreciating it more.

I don’t hoard perfume - it is one of the new beauty products that I don’t hoard. I have a 100ml Vera wang (original) to start and no other perfume in the stash. But 100ml will take me about a year to get through I reckon.

Bare essentials primer. Nothing exciting. Think I got it in a beauty box.

A Ren hand and body moisturiser, which I used as a hand cream. It was fine, nothing wrong with it, but just felt functional rather than pampering.

Clarins booster serum energise gone. I’ve had this for ages (as well as the other two - detox and repair). Not entirely sure if they do anything. But I like to think they do...!

Costa I love Bum Bum Cream. The smell is so gorgeous...like caramel.

I have a couple of empties...a serum I have no idea what it is meant to do and a Dennis Geoss Neck tightening serum. I have become obsessed with my neck this past year since noticing signs of ageing there. But, I'm not really impressed with this one. It didn't do anything at all. There was no scent to it and felt very plain and boring to use. I think I will go back to StriVectin which at least has a nice thick texture.
