After a weird year, who is thinking about treating themselves? Can’t believe how quickly this has come round!

Nothing is out yet but some places are keeping waiting lists for notifications e.g. Cult Beauty. The John Lewis sneak peak looks promising. And I believe Body Shop is out the end of this month.

Any you will be looking out for? I’m thinking of splurging on a decent one this year — I had serious envy over Cult Beauty last year. I’ve also become a huge SpaceNK fan this year so I’ll have my eye out to see what they’re producing.

My big surprise hit last year was Holland and Barrett — super cheap and some brilliant items. If it’s as good this year I might end up with that as a bonus.

Liberty have decided to cancel my gwp order! Bastards. No idea why, waiting for a response

Hi lovely ladies, I got the Grazia one last year and really liked it...just found out I have won £50 on premium bonds so I'm going to,get the look fantastic one...am I right in thinking that I can get the £15 discount just be joining the LF monthly box for one month (£15) - so basically that box is free?

I love skincare rather than makeup so the CB one is not for me...and the F&M one looks so good but so ££££

Costacoffeeplease - that’s not on! Have a Liberty explained why yet? The GWP was still available when I checked a little while ago, so stock levels can’t be able issue. I’ve had an email to say that mine is on the way........

No, no response to my email. Very disappointed in liberty. I’ve had their calendar a few times and bought Christmas presents from them, but not this year. Selfridges and Fortnums, here I come

My bodyshop calendar arrived. I would have liked beauty calendar but I have so much stuff left from last year. I have my favourite brand and prefer their products over testing new ones. Shower gels etc will be used anyway and dd can get some of the products.

My Liberty order says completed so I’m hoping it’s on its way and will be here in the next couple of days

@clary, Look Fantastic are onto us! I thought I'd try the advent calendar plus beauty box for 1 month and get the discount. Think the discount only applies if you subscribe for a minimum of 3 months. What puts me off doing that is the reviews say you get either skincare or makeup boxes and I'd just want skincare I think.

oooh, actually I have done it since listing and it worked! I need to remember to cancel it once only first one has come tho.

But basically the box is free - it includes a moisturiser I like so I can regift the rest.

Liberty have replied and apparently had a few issues with PayPal payments - but didn’t bother to contact me, or explain, but just cancel the order. Not good enough Liberty

I have the Lookfantastic one plus a one month subscription in my basket. I'm wondering whether to hold off a bit as the box this month looks a bit crap. Who on earth uses a jade roller and what would you use it for?

I'm sure folks swear by the jade rollers, but I got one in the Holland&Barrett calendar last year and periodically look at it bemusedly.
I might have another look then at the LF calendar, thanks.

I just asked my dd who got the H&B one last year does she use it. She says she does occasionaly as it feels nice. Not exactly an overwhelming recommendation.....

I think I'll go for it. I've been looking at previous boxes and there's at least one item in all of them that I'd never use and I'm afraid the advent calendar will sell out.

I've just ordered the LookFantastic one. Can I cancel the subscription for the beauty box immediately or do I have to wait until I receive the box?

I was just looking at my orders in Look Fantastic and remembered I got a christmas stocking there last year too. It was really good value. Hopefully they will do one again this year.

Ochon I think you did the right thing in not waiting. LF will sell out pretty fast IMO. I think Glossybox and LF boxes haven't been as good as they had been, for some time now. They were brilliant a couple of years ago but lately there have been a lot of replacement items and repeats and pretty much every box has been meh. I cancelled my subscriptions which was another hassle.

I don't intend getting the box beyond the first one so will be cancelling as soon as possible. I did the same with glossybox last year. The box I got from them was very disappointing. There were 2 options, one of which would have worked for me colourwise, while the other one, which of course I got, was really not suitable for anyone over the age of about 35. Dd was delighted though as she got most of it 😁

Liberty GWP arrived. A bit disappointing really.

The bag is lovely and I am pleased with the candle, perfume, mascara and T McEvoy eyeliner, but don’t need two black eyeliners. A Nars lip liner would have been better.

Dont see the need for 2 hair conditioners, a shampoo or styling product please.

Happy with the 2 hand creams and body products, an oil and a gel. Personally I would have liked a bar of soap instead of a body wash.

Face cream and scrub ok but why include 6, yes 6 cleansers! No toners, lip balm, eye cream, face oil or masks.

I really needed (wanted) the perfume I bought so it really was a free gift for me but it was a bit rubbish compared to the last few years.

I ordered Bamford products (for myself, as you do) and they also added a free lip balm (rrp £14)
I’ll use my GWP products to fill the empty advent calendar for my DIL

Yes, Ochon as you are on a month by month you will have no bother cancelling. I was in a 12 month...you have to complete it and even when it was over money was still being taken from my account. I eventually had to go on Trustpilot to get it resolved as the customer service was abysmal. It was a nightmare. It's such a shame as LF and Glossybox were sooo good just a few years ago. Don't know what happened to them.

I think I might be getting advent calendar fatigue.

I've had one for the past three or four years and I'm now at the stage where I see the same things always repeated, that I won't use. Considering taking a year off now!!

But I may wait to see if ASOS do one again, or if any get discounted for Black Friday etc. Not particularly amazed by any unfortunately

Bum I know what you mean....if I even catch one glimpse of Sleep Works Pillow Spray, Nars Orgasm Blusher or Eyeliner, Eyeko Mascara, Eve Lom cleanser, Laura Mercier Setting Powder and something from Emma Hardie...I give a hard pass!

Yes!! It's the Pillow Spray that's the straw that breaks the camel's back this time.

But I do enjoy seeing what's in them all and what people like etc. Just might have to have a year off.
