Beauty Advent Calendars 2020

After a weird year, who is thinking about treating themselves? Can’t believe how quickly this has come round!

Nothing is out yet but some places are keeping waiting lists for notifications e.g. Cult Beauty. The John Lewis sneak peak looks promising. And I believe Body Shop is out the end of this month.

Any you will be looking out for? I’m thinking of splurging on a decent one this year — I had serious envy over Cult Beauty last year. I’ve also become a huge SpaceNK fan this year so I’ll have my eye out to see what they’re producing.

My big surprise hit last year was Holland and Barrett — super cheap and some brilliant items. If it’s as good this year I might end up with that as a bonus.

Space NK GWP goes live tomorrow, contents on Really Ree. Looks good but I'm sitting on my hands as I really can't afford it at the moment.

I’m trying to think how I can justify the liberty advent calendar now I’ve ordered the GWP.

I just love this time of year and looking forward to all the beauty products GWP and calendars and Star gifts. Even though I don't buy much I love reading about them all.

I loved space nk last year. The Chantecaille cream was incredible. I found all the hair items less exciting (even though I've got waist length hair!)

It was so exciting I really stuck to the days!

Will it sell out? I don't want to buy it now, it's too soon to be sitting in my room 🤣

doadeer - Space nk advent calendar comes out at the beginning of a October I think and was around for a while last year. The GWP goes live tomorrow and will probably be gone within a couple of days.

I did indulge earlier today so that I could get the Liberty GWP. I love a Byredo handcream, the perfume and one of the cleansers. There’s another cleanser in there that I want to try too. Still undecided about which advent calendar to go for though......

If anyone got the Cult beauty gwp and got the Natasha Denona ‘12’ palette would swap for the ‘9’ palette I got (not swatched or opened the plastic) - I think it is too cool toned for me - gorgeous as it is - I need some warmth in my face!

Btw - thanks for starting the thread OP - I love this time of year - and the H&B recommendation looks good too...I buy my sister an M&S calendar every year which she loves but H&B looks way better I think...

I've just bought the liberty GWP. I've bought a few gifts to get my spend up and I'll be gifting the dyptique candle so I've only spent a lot less on myself but got loads.

I'm changing my mind now. I'm thinking of going for the Lookfantastic one instead of the Cult Beauty one. I'm struggling to justify €230, even though it's worth €1000. If I go for LookFantastic, I can get the Debenhams one as an extra if they do one like last year.

Look fantastic was pretty good last year, tempted to pre order it!

Does anyone else find the Space NK website massively annoying to use?

The actual space on screen to look at the products is tiny. So many freaking pop up windows with Cookies info and mailing list and blah blah... The division of the page really irritates me. I will buy products from anywhere else if I can!

Yes, horrible. I don't like using it either. The Liberty website is a nightmare for me too...for some reason it always really lags and takes ages for pages to load.

I just saw the contents of look fantastic and I’m quite disappointed. It’s very skincare heavy though so I can imagine lots of people are going to prefer that.
I like the look of glossybox which has a lot more make up!
Actually, they both have the same parent company so maybe it was intentional to make one make up heavy calendar and one skincare based one. Cover all bases.
I’m still tempted by Cult beauty but I have the palette already and it has a lot of brands I use but not the products I use from them! If that makes sense!

That's exactly what appeals to me about it . I had the Glossybox one last year and found it a bit too make-up oriented.

Me too. I have so much make up in my stash but can get through skin care much more quickly

Remember everyone to use topcashback or Quidco when buying the calendars to get some money back!!

Totally agree about the Space NK website. For some unknown reason the screen jumps around and keeps obscuring the basket, so it’s a total pain to try to check out! I’ve given up. Will only order from them if the advent calendar is still in stock to count towards the qualifying spend for the crackers later in the year. Plenty of other (properly functioning) sites to spend my money on ☹️

She is a heroine of mine...her humour, how she battled addiction and her strength, her passion for helping people and that she never changed with fame and never stopped being a wonderful person. She is also the most beautiful woman I think I have ever seen. I could rave about her all day. Her life has had a big impact on me, through her acting but also her personal life.

It's always so brilliant to 'e-meet' other people who are fond of Susan too.😃

What a life she has had. I hope she is peaceful and content since she retired from the entertainment industry.
David Cassidy was a bit of a cad to her, wasn’t he? I wish I could find The Partridge Family on a tv service somewhere!

I've never heard of her, I never watched The Partridge Family although it was my era, you learn something every day on MN.

I'm still undecided. Reluctantly I think I'll possibly give it a miss this year, I've got quite a stash from previous calendars and boxes, no one to swap unwanted bits with in real life and I know I won't get round to MN swaps.

Lol Starks she really does. I have the Partridge Family boxset on DVD. I watch an episode at least once a week. David Cassidy turned out to be such a douche...unforgivable that he kissed and told on Susan. Their relationship never got back on track. I went to see him in concert in 2005. He was absolutely hammered on stage. Poor guy...what a fall he had.

And yes sorry for the detail everyone!!😆 EasilyDeleted that's a shame...there might be one going pretty cheaply later on that you might like and that way it won't feel like spending money for nothing but still getting the fun of it. I remember last year both Birchbox and Debenhams had brilliant deals.

I'm a bit disappointed.. it seems Liberty are using the same box design ( on the outside ) as last year
I've kept mine from last Christmas and it's stuck on the wall in the bedroom , as a decoration . It looks really good there , and I don't want 2 the same
I'll just have to choose another with a pretty front , time for another look at Really Ree
PS , I loved The Partridge Family too , and LA Law , they don't make them like they used too ...

I have so wanted to get one of the GWP from Cult Beauty or Liberty. I've not done them before - tending to use the stuff from previous calendars and the odd extra skincare bit. I don't really spend much on myself and thought I'll find the money and justify the outlay. But although it would be lovely to have all those bits, I don't know what to buy for £175!! I don't NEED anything. And then I'll have loads of things I don't need!! I can't bring myself to do it. 😩. I know that sounds daft.

Planning on splurging the money on an expensive calendar instead, as I really enjoy a daily treat.

I’ve ordered the Liberty GWP
I’ll use most of the items to refill the calendar that I had a couple of years ago
Then I’ll decide who the lucky participant will be this year
I’ve ordered loads of Bamford items for myself
