Beauty Advent Calendars 2020

After a weird year, who is thinking about treating themselves? Can’t believe how quickly this has come round!

Nothing is out yet but some places are keeping waiting lists for notifications e.g. Cult Beauty. The John Lewis sneak peak looks promising. And I believe Body Shop is out the end of this month.

Any you will be looking out for? I’m thinking of splurging on a decent one this year — I had serious envy over Cult Beauty last year. I’ve also become a huge SpaceNK fan this year so I’ll have my eye out to see what they’re producing.

My big surprise hit last year was Holland and Barrett — super cheap and some brilliant items. If it’s as good this year I might end up with that as a bonus.

Getting lots of info here, so thank you everyone! Ok, so Lush is now off my list. Waiting impatiently for the Liberty GWP so that I can pick up some bits. I think then I’ll go for the Liberty advent calendar together with the Holland and Barrett one as it got such great reviews last year. If the Space NK one is still around and coincides with another Christmas cracker freeby or similar, then I might treat myself to that as well. So that’s me sorted - for this morning anyway. I suspect I’ll have changed my mind again by tomorrow, but I honestly find all the looking, reading and planning what to buy, more exciting than the goods themselves haha...........

When does the GWP usually start?

Hello everyone, some great ideas here. I have had the Charlotte Tilbory world of beauty, boots, m&s, Glossybox and Debenhams after a recommendation on here in the last two years. Have had some great products and Glossybox last year was so lovely and glamorous. Thing is I have hardly worn make up this year and my good stuff is locked away as 4/5 year old daughter at home constantly raising it, not going into work etc. Want the Holland and Barrett one as bit different and people seem happy with it, thinking have enough make up and certainly don’t need another gold nail varnish or red lipstick, I do like a red lip but I have about 5 now and hardly wear them. In all honesty I still have make up I have barely used from the last ones and still working through skin care, much as I like the look of this year’s Glossybox.......

I’ve ordered the Fortnum one, haven’t had it before. Have had liberty which I loved, and Harrods which was disappointing. I always have M&S it’s just tradition! Plus one more, either look fantastic, as that’s been good the last few years, or space nk or cult beauty

Usually the Liberty GWP is around the middle of the first week of September. I would be surprised if it was today because they have lots of beauty items on sale now. However they also did a Spring GWP this year for the first time and everything is very different this year. Two years ago there seemed to be a huge upsurge in Beauty Advent Calendars. There were suddenly so many and lots ended up being half price. I prophesied that that was the peak and there would be fewer the next year. I was wrong.

Liberty GWP: I had an email from them saying it would be online from midnight tonight.

No details as to what is in it, though.

Space NK GWP not great this time. I am going to give it a miss

So this year's Liberty GWP is 1st September and Space NK's is 2nd September. Liberty didn't email me. It's very odd since I've bought lots of Advents & GWPs from them before. I always loved Liberty's GWP but was underwhelmed with it last year so had a year off. I'm hoping I don't like tomorrow's too to stop me spending.

I had a look at liberty online and couldn't see enough stuff I wanted to get the GWP.

I can’t find any information on the Liberty GWP either. I am going to assume that it will be around £175 spend and they will probably make it full price items only. Not sure when the beauty sale ends online.

This will be my 3rd or 4th Liberty GWP. I missed the spring one but I still have some products left from last years Advent haul so I probably didn’t need it.

I am buying a bottle of my favourite perfume which is around £190! Last year I treated myself to some Mason Pearson brushes along with some Davines hair products which I use anyway.

I love the GWP because if you buy products that you do actually need/use it really feels like a genuine free treat, whereas the Advent Calendars can be expensive for what they are.

I may stay up to midnight to see what it’s like. How sad that this is the most excitement I’ve had in a while.

I've ordered the Fortnum's one, it will be my Christmas present. I enjoyed the M&S one so much last year and this year definitely needs some joy sprinkled over the end of it.

Mum is going to make me a DIY Lush one soooo I’ll be on the look out for another one

anyone changed their minds after seeing the line up? I thought i would love glossybox but i dont, waiting for the contents of look fantastic to be revealed now.

Just wondering which one to buy? I had a Cowshed one for Xmas 2018 just finished using up all the bits. Might get that again or try something else

Hmmm. Torn as I haven’t used make up much this year but I do love the calendars. I had Cult Beauty, Liberty and M&S last year. M&S has got very samey I think but I’m a sucker for the price. I am going to think hard about whether I can go for it this year but marking my place on here while I ponder.

Basically, you lot are a bad influence. I got the M&S one a few years ago. It was a bit samey the following year so I got the lookfantastic one and thought I was really splashing out. Last year I got Glossybox and then was persuaded by posts on here to get the debenhams one too (really glad as it was great). And this year ye have me going for the Cult Beauty one!

The Liberty GWP is now live if anyone is interested! Sadly, it can't be shipped outside the UK so I will have to live vicariously through others who buy it

Lavender I just came on to say the same thing. I buy it every year and use the contents to make Christmas stockings for my mother and sisters. I keep a couple of things for myself, of course, I’m not a saint! 😀

Have I missed anyone mentioning the Jo Malone calendar? I had it two years ago and loved it. I could use everything as it's candles, body creams and perfumes. You really got to layer the smells (as opposed to trying them briefly together in the shop) and I could add the tiny bottles to all my rooms, car, gym bag etc. I'd love another one!

I'm thinking of buying two as presents. I missed some friends birthday DS over lockdown so may do these for gifts before Christmas. Never bought any of these before.
