Beauty Advent Calendars 2020

After a weird year, who is thinking about treating themselves? Can’t believe how quickly this has come round!

Nothing is out yet but some places are keeping waiting lists for notifications e.g. Cult Beauty. The John Lewis sneak peak looks promising. And I believe Body Shop is out the end of this month.

Any you will be looking out for? I’m thinking of splurging on a decent one this year — I had serious envy over Cult Beauty last year. I’ve also become a huge SpaceNK fan this year so I’ll have my eye out to see what they’re producing.

My big surprise hit last year was Holland and Barrett — super cheap and some brilliant items. If it’s as good this year I might end up with that as a bonus.

And I think a L'occitaine one I had once did similar- but maybe they have upped their game now it is such a big thing.

I had that L'Occitaine one, must been about 5 years ago I think. It had little gold star confetti and name cards for the dining table I think. No way would they get away with that these days!

I'm still holding out for the CB one (ignoring the H&B that's been ordered, as it was simply such good value!). How quickly does CB sell out? I'm not generally quick off the mark with these things. I'm signed up to their emails now, so hoping I get advance notice. Just wondering if I need to be prepared to be disappointed...

Last year I happened to look at my emails during a boring meeting, saw the Cult Beauty one appear and thought 'why not?' as I'd heard good things about it on here, so bought it. It had sold out by the end of that day IIRC, with posters who hadn't spotted the email cursing themselves.

I don't know if it goes live at midnight on release day or when emails go out.

Has SpaceNK totally sold out, does anyone know, or just on pre-order?

@PrincessWatermelon - I believe that last year was the first for the Cult Beauty advent and they only released a limited number (?500). As it was so successful, I imagine they will produced a lot more this year....... that said, keep an eye on the site and look out for email notification and buy immediately if you can....

I’m a bit disappointed that Boots don’t carry many beauty advent calendars. I’ve amassed quite a lot of Advantage points over the year and was thinking of using them for a calendar. I was interested in Soap and Glory or Benefit, but after watching YouTube unboxings I’m a little underwhelmed. I’m now holding out for the No7 calendar. I’m on the wait list, hope it’s a good one!

The No 7 is usually good. I'm thinking of getting it for my Mum and MIL. The Boots ones used to be on 3 for 2 but I believe they're not this year.

I love Benefit but I find the sets and calendar a bit samey. Then again that could be because I have tried many of their products. Same with Soap & Glory.

I think I have seen a Boots one that has a mix of stuff in including Soap & Glory.

What does anyone think of the Net-a-Porter calendar? I can't decide between that and the Liberty one...

@HesSpartacus - I think that the Net-a-Porter calendar looks lovely but it does seem to contain a lot of skincare. Personally I’m more drawn to Liberty one as it has a couple of fragrances and a candle, just looks like wider range of stuff generally + I do like trying a new fragrance. They both look like beautiful calendars and I suppose it just comes down to what sort of stuff you like/feel you would get most use and enjoyment from......

For the first year ever, I've succumbed to the temptation and parted with £120.
All based on recommendations from this thread! 2 H&B which have arrived, one for me and one for a friend's Christmas present. Window number 6 arrived open on one so what was in there is already out on mine! And i think I like it!

Final £40 on an Arran one along with the free handcream and 20% off. Both will be perfect for me I hope as I'm not very into make up.
Will watch carefully when those from F&M and Liberty etc are unboxed.....maybe next year!

If your looking for a new brand to try i highly recommend Lumene, really good products and there is an unboxing on youtube just now if its up,your street

What would you compare Lumene products to? I realise now where I know it from. I received a product in either a beauty box or a GWP but can't remember what it was and honestly hadnt thought much of it until I saw you all posting about it.

It could be H&B all over again (which I ordered purely because of this thread)!

I really want to treat myself to a calendar this year but I don't wear make up or use any other products other than clique for skin care (and I've got enough).

Was thinking about Molton Brown?

My Origins 12 day calendar arrived. I got three gifts as well.

I am done now. I have bodyshop calendar, which I will share with dd. H&B as a main and Origins after Xmas day.

My H & B calendar has arrived, and as anticipated, Box No. 6 is open!

@LoveEatYoga I don't see any Harvey nicholls GWP? Would definitely go for another GWP if there was one. I've bought some neom oils & lotion to add to my advent treats!

Dd's H&B arrived fully intact and absolutely enormous.

My White COmpany and Loccitane came today. The WC one is gorgeous! And so heavy!

not overly impressed by HN this time. I prefer 15 off 60 at Space NK.

I have received my Holland & Barrett calendar today and all seems to be intact. Haven't looked closely just took it out to get tho the rest of the order that was underneath.

I’ve cancelled my Space NK order. Had a proper look at the contents and realise I already own or have tried most of them.

Still hoping for Cult Beauty and might get the HN GWP if I can work sone Christmas gifting into the qualifying spend
