Beauty Advent Calendars 2020

After a weird year, who is thinking about treating themselves? Can’t believe how quickly this has come round!

Nothing is out yet but some places are keeping waiting lists for notifications e.g. Cult Beauty. The John Lewis sneak peak looks promising. And I believe Body Shop is out the end of this month.

Any you will be looking out for? I’m thinking of splurging on a decent one this year — I had serious envy over Cult Beauty last year. I’ve also become a huge SpaceNK fan this year so I’ll have my eye out to see what they’re producing.

My big surprise hit last year was Holland and Barrett — super cheap and some brilliant items. If it’s as good this year I might end up with that as a bonus.

The Clarins 24 Day Hanging Calendar hasn't been realised yet (as far as I know

@BeaLola
There's also a Selfridges exclusive Clarins advent calendar coming out in October.

Oh no Grin I joined this thread a while ago and have been lurking. So far I've bought the white company ( waiting for it to arrive ) and the Lumene advent calendars ...

Waiting for the 16th of October when I can buy the Diptyque one too. I don't NEED three advent calendars but I do think I'll use them.

I bought the liberty one a couple of years ago and loved it, not last year or this one though as it's quite samey.

Housewife2010 · 26/09/2020 17:11

I'd definitely recommend the Lumene advent. I've had it for the last two years and loved it, but it's too samey for me to get it for a third year. I've had a fantastic eyeshadow stick, mascara and tinted eyebrow wax from it. The skincare is lovely.

cupboardmonster · 26/09/2020 17:11

My F&M calendar has just arrived. I unpacked it to admire it, a beautiful solid thing, pulled a drawer or two in and out to admire the glide. I didn't peek and have boxed it back up to forget about until December. It will be reused for years as it's so well built.

Doilooklikeatourist · 26/09/2020 17:20

My white company calendar arrived today , very well packaged and protected
Very heavy and smells lovely !
Told DH it's a pre advent calendar and I need to start opening on 1st October 😀

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 26/09/2020 17:55

My two Rituals calendars came yesterday. They came very well packaged, possibly over packaged, each calendar is in a box and the two boxes are in another box. However, I have been searching online for just the right sized boxes to fold all my fabric into so that I can see it all more easily. It was looking a bit expensive, but the two Rituals outer boxes are almost exactly the right size. So I have spent a happy few hours watching Amazon Prime and folding. Grin

I've just ordered that Rodial from TKMaxx, so thanks to LoveEatYoga. I really like their dragon's blood and pink diamond products and there are several in there so it's really good value even if don't use the other stuff.

Dailyhandtowelwash · 26/09/2020 18:39

Any know where I’d be able to buy the Diptyque calendar when it’s released? I can see unavailable ones on John Lewis - are they usually stockists? I have my fingers crossed as they deliver to me in the Channel Islands and deduct the VAT with no quibbling.

TheQuietWoman · 26/09/2020 18:44

Has anyone tried the Origins range? I just had a look at their 12 day calendar and it looks perfect for me, skin and body care. I have never tried the products so not sure if I should go for that one.

covidmonkey · 26/09/2020 18:55

@TheQuietWoman I use mainly Origins products. They smell lovely and are very good. I got the calendar straight away. If you order it you can get all the "if you spend £x you get this' gifts. They usually accepts only one code but I managed to get three of them.

TheQuietWoman · 26/09/2020 19:05

Covidmonkey thank you so much! That is perfect - all I needed to know. You have convinced me!🥰

Nearlyadoctor · 26/09/2020 19:09

Just ordered the Arran one - using the discount code got the calendar and a £15 hand lotion As a free gift for £40 with free delivery.
I’ve never tried their products before and was procrastinating between Molton Brown and White Company when someone mentioned Arran upthread. I’m very fixed in which skincare products I use so this one seems ideal mainly bath, shampoo etc.
I’m actually quite excited to try something new so let’s hope it looks as nice when it arrives as it does online - love the Stag on the packaging.

TheQuietWoman · 26/09/2020 19:16

I had Arran last year and used everything. Such gorgeous scents. I especially loved the soaps.....they proved to come in very handy this year!

CountryCob · 26/09/2020 19:20

Might get the Lumene one next year or if it gets more discounted, looks lovely. So far have ASOS and H&B and when I got 3 full advents last year felt a bit much, still using up mini sizes...

Nearlyadoctor · 26/09/2020 19:42

@TheQuietWoman - I’m so pleased, the reviews from last year looked good and I know I’ll use everything.

LoveEatYoga · 26/09/2020 20:39

No problem @BlackAmericanoNoSugar Unable to decide whether to order it myself. I haven't used much Rodial but thinking its worth I just for the masks

chloechloe · 26/09/2020 22:50

Argh! I’ve dithered about whether to go for F&M this year over Liberty or CB and now it’s sold out! Liberty it is then - can’t be bothered with the whole secrecy over the CB release date.

To console myself for having missed out I may have bought the Lumene calendar after having been enabled by a certain thread Grin. I’d never heard of the brand before but it sounds lovely and if Salli Hughes raves about it, that’s good enough for me!

Pomegranatepompom · 26/09/2020 22:55

I was having same F&M or liberty debate - liberty it is ..

Babysharkdoodoodood · 26/09/2020 23:15

I love the look of the Liberty Men's calendar.

Housewife2010 · 27/09/2020 08:45

For anyone thinking of The White Company, they sent me a code today for 15% off so the calendar would be £136. It's worth being signed up to their emails if you're interested.

Dailyhandtowelwash · 27/09/2020 10:07

CB is 12 October I think someone said upthread?

Tanaqui · 27/09/2020 10:21

I was disappointed with the Clarins one the year I had it- it had some random things like Christmas gift tags that said Clarins on- who would use those on a gift to someone?! And I think a L'occitaine one I had once did similar- but maybe they have upped their game now it is such a big thing.

AsPerMyLastEmail · 27/09/2020 13:18

Lol at Clarins Christmas gift tags being a calendar treat Grin

I was going to not get Liberty's this year as I’ve had it several years in the past, but I have a soft spot for their calendars. Always beautifully packaged and thoughtful. What swings it for me though is that 19 out of 25 products are full-size, they have a good variety of hair, makeup & skin care, and there’s little to no repeat of last year’s products.

LoveEatYoga · 27/09/2020 13:28

Now I have H&B, i am now tempted by a GWP such as Harvey Nicholls as I feel I'd get the calendar type products plus the £195 spend for a similar price
