Beauty Advent Calendars 2020

After a weird year, who is thinking about treating themselves? Can’t believe how quickly this has come round!

Nothing is out yet but some places are keeping waiting lists for notifications e.g. Cult Beauty. The John Lewis sneak peak looks promising. And I believe Body Shop is out the end of this month.

Any you will be looking out for? I’m thinking of splurging on a decent one this year — I had serious envy over Cult Beauty last year. I’ve also become a huge SpaceNK fan this year so I’ll have my eye out to see what they’re producing.

My big surprise hit last year was Holland and Barrett — super cheap and some brilliant items. If it’s as good this year I might end up with that as a bonus.

@Butterymuffin, out of interest I've just looked on ebay (mainly to see if scalpers are already selling this years!) and there are a number of last years empty calenders for sale, same box design just slightly different illustration.

For those receiving damaged H&B calendars, their twitter feed has lots of complaints about damaged orders generally so a flimsy calendar probably doesn't stand up well to their packing department! Still no sign of my own being despatched though, they took the payment immediately but my order is showing as out of stock so goodness knows what is going on.

So, apparently my first H&B calendar is with the courier and will be delivered this evening. I am worried about the state it's going to arrive in now, although my local Hermes couriers seem to be better than some.
I think I will assess the state of this calendar and then maybe try to cancel order number 2, although their customer service seems a bit shit so that may be a mission!

My H&B calendar weirdly arrived not long after posting about it on here! It was all in one piece and not damaged at all. I do wonder how much is down to the courier and how much is down to the packaging itself, it seems fairly sturdy to be honest.

Only read last few posts buy my H and B calendar arrived in perfect condition so I suspect its the couriers damaging them.

My H&B arrived - in fairly good condition. Its got an odd aroma about it - like sterile, chemisty and clinical.

My L'Occitane calendar arrived this morning, the first beauty one I have ever had so I am going to hide it until December as I have already been asked three times by my 7 year old son about the size of the chocolates.

It looks very nice and I haven't used L'Occitane for years so looked forward to opening it.

I love the l’Occitaine calendars I always get one. People complain that they are samey but I love all the stuff so I don’t mind at all. Keeps me in hand creams for months. My Rituals calendar arrived today the temptation to open it is strong!

So work has been quiet this afternoon and have read this thread. Sad about M&S as that has been my personal treat.

Ordered the Arran one with free hand cream, my daughter may like this and the Birchbox one. Can't believe so many are sold out already. Would have got the Lumene one, missed it last year too.

I wouldn't mind if my H&B calendar was a bit battered, it's having a product (and corresponding advent door) completely missing that I'm unhappy about.

I’m not sure that many are sold out. They tend to launch in October mostly. I think websites say unavailable meaning they are yet to go on sale, or you find links to last year’s calendar.

Does the Harvey Nicks GWP sell well on ebay, brand new and unopened? Thinking I could have some lovely goodies then flog the gift to cover the cost? Or is there millions of them on there.

I bought the Lumene one twice last year! It was that good. The face creams are all 15ml, compared to 30ml full sized. It's beautiful stuff and frankly amazing value! The moomin lip gloss is sooooo cute too :)

I’d never heard of Lumene until this thread. What would you say is great about their products?

But, on the bright side, I wonder what was behind that door that made it so irresistible? It bodes well for Day 8!

Well, mine has arrived. When I opened the box, I initially thought I had a free gift, but no, it was one of the products, come out of an open door Some of the other doors were almost open too so I've stuck them back down with tape.
Not ideal but I am glad to finally have it. I think I will definitely try to cancel the 2nd one now as if it turns up in that state, its going to be hard to sell on.

I've looked at Lumene before, simply because it's a Scandinavian brand and I'm a bit obsessed with Scandinavia Tell us about the products Morris!

Lumene is from Finland. I worked one summer in their factory. Dm has used their products long time. I find them too greasy well at least what my mum uses.
