Beauty Advent Calendars 2020

After a weird year, who is thinking about treating themselves? Can’t believe how quickly this has come round!

Nothing is out yet but some places are keeping waiting lists for notifications e.g. Cult Beauty. The John Lewis sneak peak looks promising. And I believe Body Shop is out the end of this month.

Any you will be looking out for? I’m thinking of splurging on a decent one this year — I had serious envy over Cult Beauty last year. I’ve also become a huge SpaceNK fan this year so I’ll have my eye out to see what they’re producing.

My big surprise hit last year was Holland and Barrett — super cheap and some brilliant items. If it’s as good this year I might end up with that as a bonus.

I actually got mini versions of Fir and Winter to compare! I like Fir, if I light both that's the dominant ame.

On another note, I've just started a beautiful candle subscription called Iggy and you get a box each month. It's so so nice!!!

That sounds pretty cool! I'm tired of the beauty boxes (never thought I'd see the day) so would like a new subscription for something lovely but different.

space nk has sold out? Arghh - I dithered over ordering this morning!

The "After the Rain" EDP in the Arran advent sounds beautiful. Space NK advent has sold out on pre order but they will have more in - there's an update on the Really Ree blog.

Bloody hell H&B are hopeless. Customer services on email giving me a tracking number for delivery today and then it says its been delivered at 1330. No it hasn't I've been in all day. Then phone customer services and its not being dispatched until tonight. WTF! It will be a Christmas miracle if I receive it in time for 1st December.

I've emailed H&B. I want mine now.

I was thinking that yesterday when someone mentioned the Elle calendar, and I went scurrying off for a look. Couldn’t find any real detail - not been disclosed yet? - which was somewhat of a relief.

I’m still set on the Net a Porter. I’m not really into candles or body creams, like one of each no more, and live a good range of type. I really love hair products and Net A Porter seem to have a great range of these. As does Liberty’s, which I also want. I can’t choose between the two and may get both...

Sorry to hear people are having problems with Holland & Barrett. I ordered mine yesterday and it came today, which was a (good) surprise as I’d chosen for it to be delivered tomorrow!

I'm waiting for espa as I use a lot of their products.

I've looked at white company and Rituals but I know those brands so well I have my particular products I like.

I don't wear a lot of make up these days so I prefer skincare focused ones.

I've also been making a big effort to support smaller beauty brands lately.

I've found that this YouTuber is the best for Advent contents. She shows all the products grouped into sample, discovery and full sizes and her videos are under five minutes. Much quicker informative than watching a full unboxing. www.youtube.com/c/PlanningwithCrystal

M & S have a beer AC, a gin one, a L'Occitane one and very importantly a Percy Pigs and Santa chocolates one . Hopefully better than nothing for some.

I had Harrods one year, maybe last year? I wasn’t overly impressed for the price, lots of the items were tiny

I ordered spaceNK this morning using the discount and the referral bonus from a previous poster so only £140, makes me now feel less guilty about ordering the H&B one yesterday

Quick update on the Juliette Has a Gun discovery set. I wore Not A Perfume today and nobody said anything. I loved it though. I’m a bit disappointed as I work with lots of women and they generally will notice a new scent.

I ordered H&B yesterday and got an email confirmation but no despatch note yet

I'm now interested in Cult Beauty, Elle, Look Fantastic / Feel Unique (I mix them up) as well
