Beauty Advent Calendars 2020

After a weird year, who is thinking about treating themselves? Can’t believe how quickly this has come round!

Nothing is out yet but some places are keeping waiting lists for notifications e.g. Cult Beauty. The John Lewis sneak peak looks promising. And I believe Body Shop is out the end of this month.

Any you will be looking out for? I’m thinking of splurging on a decent one this year — I had serious envy over Cult Beauty last year. I’ve also become a huge SpaceNK fan this year so I’ll have my eye out to see what they’re producing.

My big surprise hit last year was Holland and Barrett — super cheap and some brilliant items. If it’s as good this year I might end up with that as a bonus.

Yes I end up with a box of stuff from advent calendars, beauty boxes and GWPs. I gave loads to charity this year and my nieces and still have a lot. I have tried to put a stop to the beauty boxes and GWPs but I don't find it very enjoyable having a calendar to open hence I wanted a relatively inexpensive one and have gone for the H&B. I might also treat myself to some Lush goodies too at Christmas time. Their calendar is too expensive considering the other ones at the same price point.

Babyshark it was from Perfume Society £25 I think. The ‘Not A Perfume’ is bigger than the others. I’ve just sprayed ‘Another Oud’ and I don’t think that’s me, I’m getting a definite hint of menthol.

The Perfume Society have some great sets. If anyone wants a more reasonable priced perfume advent calendar which contains various brands, they could buy a couple of their boxes and ask a friend or family member to fill an empty advent calendar with it.

I'm a Perfume Society member & have had quite a few boxes some from as little as £15 plus around £3 delivery & sometimes with free delivery.
Although you don't have to be a member to buy the sample boxes, it's just cheaper if you are.

I’ve had the loccitane in my basket all day but I’ve resisted. I’ve literally spent about £300-400 on beauty products in the last few days. Probably more. Ffs!

Can't quite believe anyone would take issue with people buying advent calendars, but it takes all sorts I suppose.
Nobody should have to justify why they are treating themselves!

Yeah maybe just the cheaper one.... but then you qualify for the little cherry bag for £12... god. I love the cherry blossom products.

I don't hoard I use everything! I have a beautiful facial, use lush body creams and candles every night. I've got chronic pain and life is pretty hard at the moment. My beauty moments are sacred and keep me sane and upbeat.

I do love Rituals so I think I'll get that plus space nk.

Have people gone big Rituals or small Rituals calendar?

I saw asos also have a good little guys kit if you have any sons / partners in need of a pamper!!

I went for big Rituals. I won't put spoilers but the contents of both are similar with a few exceptions and I preferred the variety in the bigger one. I'm not sure it's worth the extra £30 tbf but I justified it cos I had the 20% off code.

I love it! I've bought it twice after having it in my M&S calendar last year.

F&M this year for me, anyone being miserable about other people's advent calendar joy can go and lick yellow snow.

One of the things I enjoy about the advent calendars is looking at all the contents lists and trying to decide which one to get ... the decision changes daily . I think the No7 one will be best for me as I love No7 and it seems very reasonable. But some of the others sound great , especially Space NK , Elle and Rituals. Current favourite imaginary purchase is Lumene 😊.

I've had Lumene for the last two years and it has been excellent. I am still using the mascara and tinted brow gel from last year's calendar. Feelunique give customers who have signed up to their loyalty programme 20% off for their birthday so both years I bought it during my birthday week. I'm not getting it this year because it has two many repeats for me.

I also enjoy the research and watching youtube unboxings to see what is in all of the calendars and then once I buy one I hope to forget!

I love the research, checking these threads then the unboxing threads. The M&S thread has always been great, the other calendars are a bit quieter so this year I’m hoping they will all get a bit more traffic

Just to let you SpaceNK account holders know there’s £15 off a £60 spend at SpaceNK. I had a text and when I went to look the Advent was on pre-order, and the offer reduced it to £150 saving £45! I had another £10 off with NDuldge points making it a LJ absolute bargain!

Has anyone else NOT received a dispatch email for the H&B calendar yet? I ordered it when it came on sale last week, received an order confirmation then nothing since.

I am torn over Cult Beauty. It was so good last year but as a PP said, there are lots of similarities. I might go more perfume or candles for the price if I'm getting SpaceNK too. One of them will be my birthday present from DP and one will be a present to myself!

Dairy milk I'm still waiting for my H&B dispatch note . I ordered it as soon as I got the email last week that it had been released. I wish I'd noticed that I could have chosen the delivery date.

I'd decided that I wanted the CB calendar this year. I wasn't initially impressed with the Space NK and preferred the lipstick in the CB. But Space NK is now £49 cheaper. I could buy the CB lipstick and the Space NK palette is nicer than the CB one. What a decision!
