Beauty Advent Calendars 2020

After a weird year, who is thinking about treating themselves? Can’t believe how quickly this has come round!

Nothing is out yet but some places are keeping waiting lists for notifications e.g. Cult Beauty. The John Lewis sneak peak looks promising. And I believe Body Shop is out the end of this month.

Any you will be looking out for? I’m thinking of splurging on a decent one this year — I had serious envy over Cult Beauty last year. I’ve also become a huge SpaceNK fan this year so I’ll have my eye out to see what they’re producing.

My big surprise hit last year was Holland and Barrett — super cheap and some brilliant items. If it’s as good this year I might end up with that as a bonus.

I panicked and bought another one. The one I bought on Friday was supposed to arrive yesterday but didn't turn up and I was worried about missing out completely so grabbed another one this morning. If I end up with two, I'll sell the other one or give it to my sister if I'm feeling generous!

I got a H&B one too to console myself for the Rituals fiasco!

I've ordered one too - fingers crossed now it turns up and in one piece! I was so disappointed when they sold out so quickly online as I had been checking regularly but wonder now if they pulled temporarily based on the free next day delivery offer, with the numbers they must selling they dont really need to add that sort of enticement.

I downloaded Holland&Barret app yesterday because the webpage was so slow. The code welcome15 showed up in app and I tried it successfully this morning.

Thanks for that. I couldn't really justify getting another one for myself since I have the Rituals one, but I bought a H&B one for my 12 yr old DD (so that I can nab anything she doesn't want).

You people are baaaaad! I've ordered the H&B one "for DD" hmmm. yes she is 19 so in no great need of skincare and doesn't wear makeup.

Definitely. I had been getting a single advent calendar for about 4 years. Last year I came across this thread. I somehow ended up with 2 advent calendars (Glossybox and Debenhams) and a LookFantastic christmas stocking.

Speaking of which - does anyone know if Debenhams are doing one this year. It was really good value last year.

Yes this thread definitely is a bad influence - I only found it yesterday and already I’ve bought three calendars, only one of which (Looks Fantastic) I intended on buying

The PLT is a Christmas present for DD though, and I bought the H&B as it sounds good value and is highly recommended.

My luxury one is going to be either and Cult Beauty, Liberty’s or Net a Porter.

Beauty advent calendars are my Christmas crack.

The funny thing is I really have no idea what to expect from the H&B calendar. I don't recognise any of the brands except a couple but I am trusting you all! It is also a good price point for a little treat...

New to this thread ...my H and B one arrived yesterday, it's massive! Packaging was a bit underwhelming and also a bit battered but hopefully contents are safe. I'm a bit gutted I didn't get a code that worked but hey ho.

I'm also coveting the CB one ... I checked out the contents to make sure it wouldn't be a frivolous waste of money and the first item I googled (a super seed face oil) is priced £70. I'll be thoroughly disappointed if I'm not transformed into a goddess by 31 December!

I'm on the fence about no M & S one this year. I've enjoyed it in the past and while it was getting a little samey they pissed me off last year with their policy to allow any Tom, Dick and Harry (quite literally) into the ladies dressing rooms. I realise I'm possibly in the minority with this annoyance !

I really like sukin and weleda plus the up circle brand looks good

When I missed out on the H & B one last year I treated myself instead to their Beauty Box and put it by to open on Christmas Day. It was pretty good value and I got x 2 on a buy one, get one half price deal.
clary there was a Sukin face exfoliator which I loved, definitely a nice brand.

Those looking for treats for teen or young DDs .. the last few Black Fridays Birchbox have done a good deal of x 2 past beauty boxes delivered for £8 which have been quite good. A bit of a gamble as you don't know the contents and it's new customers only do you might need to faff about setting up a new email.

The boxes themselves are also very pretty and nice to store bits stuff I hoard in.

I was saying on the other thread about the H&B packaging - mine was damaged when it arrived (even though it was inside a humongous box ) and some of the doors were already open. Last year's design was better as the contents were tucked away inside. Hope others fare better than mine did in transit!

My wish list for this year is the Holland and Barrett and Boots no7 calendars. Just ordered the H and B, and have signed up for the early access for the no7 calendar. That’s £85 on calendars this year. Last year I went overboard on advent calendars and it was definitely too much, took some of the enjoyment out of opening them as there were so many. It became a chore. I’ve still got trays and trays of the contents that I haven’t even really looked at from last year.

Although, my husband did say he would buy me one if I wanted as an anniversary present, so we will see. I’ll keep an eye out for cult beauty but, it had sold out last year by the time I looked at my emails.

Thanks for the tip on downloading the app. It was still showing out of stock when I googled it otherwise. H&B all ordered with 15% off. I wasn't meant to buy that as I'm planning on Cult Beauty!

Does anyone know if Debenhams and Grazia are doing calendars? I had both last year and liked the different products.

My Rituals calendar arrived today. I also had issues ordering, it wouldn't deliver to my postcode for some reason? Had to order it to my mum's house half an hour away. Also if anyone's a student the Unidays 20% off code worked for me even though it says calendars are excluded.

I just received an alert re the H & B calendar but I couldn't see a box to use a discount code so a little disappointed. Bought it out of money I save monthly to pay for Christmas and it is my gift to myself for doing 98% of Christmas work.

@PrincessWatermelon I was supposed not to get H&B either but I decided that if the code works I will get it. £34 for a Xmas calendar is good.

I don't understand the terminology. Is a trans man a person born with a vagina who now lives as a man with or without surgery or the other way around?

Hey all! Loving catching up reading how excited everyone is about the calendar releases. My H&B came just now and it looks great. It had some stellar products last year. I’ve also ordered the Look Fantastic one because I got it really cheap, not that it’s shipped yet. Hubby ordered the Lush one for me for Christmas and I’ll then open it in January. Exciting times.

I was tempted by Elemis and I use their products daily but I have so much stored up it seemed a waste. I’m now trying to decide between Cult Beauty and SpaceNk for my big one. Cult seems to have more but I have the palette and other bits and bobs. Plus on Space, I have £10 NDulge I can out towards it, and the spend will take me to Deluxe tier for next year.

Anyone any idea if the gwp will time with the calendar?
