Beauty Advent Calendars 2020

After a weird year, who is thinking about treating themselves? Can’t believe how quickly this has come round!

Nothing is out yet but some places are keeping waiting lists for notifications e.g. Cult Beauty. The John Lewis sneak peak looks promising. And I believe Body Shop is out the end of this month.

Any you will be looking out for? I’m thinking of splurging on a decent one this year — I had serious envy over Cult Beauty last year. I’ve also become a huge SpaceNK fan this year so I’ll have my eye out to see what they’re producing.

My big surprise hit last year was Holland and Barrett — super cheap and some brilliant items. If it’s as good this year I might end up with that as a bonus.

So stupid of M&S not to do one. They are so popular and it must be a growing market this advent thing. I don’t think they want to make money...

@RozHuntleysStump you're right about M&S not wanting to make money.... I think their calendar needed a bit of creative thinking as it had become samey but they were crazy not to do one at all

H&B was really impressive last year @BunnyLovesBananas - lots of really good brands and products I wasn't aware of some of which I've repurchased. There was quite a few full sized products rather than just samples meaning I could gift the ones I didn't want/need and the ones I liked have lasted me a while. Really hoping it's as good this year (trying not to see any spoilers )

I've order H&B. The DEALs code didn't work for me so I think they must have disabled it for the calendar. I did watch an unboxing a week or so ago but I've forgotten everything now. But I know it looked good so I'm excited for December. Still gutted about M&S though.

I've been logging on each morning to H&B checking for that bloody calendar and they release mid day?? Sold out now but already on ebay for double the price. Grrrr!!!!

It is infuriating and so unfair, I've emailed H&B about it but I guess there's little they can do.

I put my email details into the H&B site a few weeks ago , but heard absolutley nought .

I saw on some wesites it was the 9th then the 14th. I asked DH order it .......... HE got an email this morning to say it was in stock , even though the website still said "Coming Soon"

Managed to order one but what a bloody faff for something that's mean to make your life more enjoyable

Did they release more H+B calendars last year, or is it just a single release and I’ve missed it?

It's worth going into Holland & Barrett. Last year I bought mine in the shop when they were out of stock online.

I’ve bought the Look Fantastic one which I’ve had in the past and found really good. I’m going to use it to stock up my stash though rather than waiting til December as I need moisturizer and cleanser and other bits. The Elemis cream alone makes it worth buying.

I’m still undecided what to get for my actual advent calendar - Fortnum or Liberty which I’ve had before, or maybe Cult Beauty. I’m telling myself I should treat myself as I’ve barely bought any beauty products this year (as last year’s calendars have kept me going!) Anybody Else mulling over these 3?

Just signed up to the waitlist for Charlotte Tillbury. I know I've got Rituals and H&B, but it looks sooooo pretty

CT stuff always looks so pretty! I am going to see if they do a mystery box again for black Friday, it was pretty good last year. I've got Glossybox this year, probably won't get anymore but could be tempted....

I’ve ordered Fortnums and look fantastic, I’ve had liberty before but felt like a change this year. Might get one more for jadvent 😄

The Fortnums one looks beautiful. I would love to try the skincare in it. There's not much in it I wouldn't use tbh. The CT one looks extremely pretty. I would use the box for a jewellery box afterwards if I bought that one.

I think I’m swaying towards Fortnums now. I had it last year and really enjoyed it. There’s only a couple of things in there that I’m not keen on, but I would use them. Other calendars have stuff in that I know I won’t use. I’ve had Liberty a couple of times in the past but this year it contains items that are exact repeats of what I’ve had from them in the past. I’ve toyed with John Lewis and Fenwicks- like the sound of both, but the sizes are generally small. So I think H&B, which I’ve already ordered, then F&M for my ‘luxuary’. I might just keep an eye on John Lewis and Fenwicks in case there are any price reductions later.............

I love the look of the F&M one, so gorgeous. It's so much money but worth it as the products are worth so much!

What I can't believe is that people are selling it on ebay for £400+ Who would buy it for that when it's available at the actual price??

I had Liberty and Cult Beauty last year and I’m going to get Cult Beauty this year again. Liberty looked too similar. I buy one myself and get one as a birthday present from DH so I’m asking for Space NK this year.

Those who have bought Cult Beauty before, it says out of stock. Does it go in and out of stock?

Focus it hasn't gone on sale as of yet so I think that's just another way of saying it's not for sale right now. I believe it is mid October when Cult Beauty goes live.
