Hello! This is week FIVE of the EIGHTH WWW 10year younger boot camp of 2007

Anyone can join, we promise it works and you will feel and look better - and maybe younger - if you follow these rules.

This is about being healthy and feeling and looking better as a result. It's not a diet (although weight loss does seem to occur fairly frequently)

THE RULES ARE:

  • Sunscreen at all times, even thought it's Oct
  • No or little booze in the week. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can. Many of us have an Omron pedometer
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream/foot cream too, we recommend Flexitol, which is fantastic stuff
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage

Happy Monday everyone!

oh goodness, so much has happened with everyone I've not got time to catch up right now so I've printed the thread off (all 53 pages ) and I will read and hopefully reply tomorrow.

Belated Happy Birthday WWW

I lost 3lbs last week and seem to be fluctuating between blissful contentment (love this time of year) and complete despair. Ho hum ... am generally keeping to bootcamp (mostly)

I miss you all

Winnie - you'll be 10 years older if you read all of that! Well done on your very good weight-loss and boot-campery.

I know I should be in bed and I will be on my way shortly but we are having a mini-Halloween party tomorrow so I have been frantically trying to clean the house, then decorate it, and then panic that I don't have enough games/activities. Avoiding eating all the party food is also not one of my strong points as is thinking like a thin person. I have also done my back in, ironically just I started to up my activity (or because of??). That should be my big warning that, at my advanced years, ahem, it cannot take the extra weight as much as when I was a younger gal. Stil, the house has never been cleaner - pity it seems to last about 5 seconds....Good night all.

ROFL at Thin Person (TM).

I think that the thing about REAL thin people is that they don't think about it. They don't gratify themselves with it or stress about it or make conscious decisions. They all say "but I eat sooooo much" and get off on salads and one piece of chocolate.

I have to wrestle daily with the urge to eat chicken schnitzel in mushroom sauce on a bed of smashed potatoes washed down with a chablis or 8. Because it's nice. And it makes me happy.

At the moment the little voice in my head says "Do you want to feel nice on Christmas Day? Won't you feel happy if you can wear something that makes you looked toned and healthy?". Because last year I felt a bit really rubbish, and refused to go swimming and felt ugly at new years eve and I don't want to do that this year. Obviously I felt better once we were on to the second bottle of champagne, so it wasn't all bad .

Rightio. I'm going to do some work and then dig out the 'calories per day without slowing metabolism' paperwork.

And please send vibes to my poor cat who's had an accident and is having surgery right now [sob]

bamaHamaHorror · 25/10/2007 06:14

what is it with the cat's on this thread?! I hope yours is on the road to recovery arfishy.

Not much to report bootcamp wise. Ate a huge summer pudding this morning. Don't really know why. It's raining so wont be able to walk it off. Ho hum.

Winnie - that's a lot of "I've been baaad but will do better" to read! (well done on the weight loss btw).
