@Sooverthemill that dress is really lovely. I am not a belt fan, but I agree you could nip it in it it feels too smock-y. I think it looks great as it is, though.

Another cold day here. I’m wearing Topshop cords, Bella Freud jumper, and Veja trainers.

Hello! May I join? I’ve been in a bit of a style rut and am losing the plot. Weather is all over the place, too, so I am stuck with woolly jumpers that look a bit autumnal and goodness knows what else! Need inspiration...for nice transitional outfits that will cheer me up. Also need to wear my jewellery/accessories a bit more....

Will you have me, oh stylish ones?

Shannith · 13/05/2020 18:56

@theonlymrsw - nice top!

I like your cords @Judystilldreamsofhorses, I never think of cords - I’m stuck in a leggings/jeans/jodhpurs rut. How thick are they? I used to love my cords but for some reason equate them with wearing heels.

My new running trainers are here and they are ummm... bright! I will have to up my game considerably from a slow shuffle to match the impression the trainers give.

Shannith · 13/05/2020 19:03

I never remember to attach photos

@happytobemrsg how disappointing about your delivery. It’s always annoying and even more so now when you get really excited about stuff arriving (or is that just me?) I was deeply disappointed over some lightbulbs that were the wrong sort yesterday. Not quite the same but... solidarity Smile

@fascinated welcome! Few style tips from me but there are some fantastically stylish people on this thread. You may end up coveting clothes you don’t technically “need” though...

Welcome @fascinated! Feel free to post pics - no judgement here.

Yes @Shannith! Clothes are getting me through this time right now so it’s even worse now when I’m not happy with what I’ve ordered. The way I see it I now have £140 to spend from the refund so I can at least enjoy researching that!

To buy or not to buy? I've been wanting this coat since last year, and love the colour, I just can't decide if it'll date really quickly and by the time we get to winter this year (if we're allowed out of the house by then!) if I'll have gone off it. Also, anyone know what Ted Baker are like for sizing?

happytobemrsg · 13/05/2020 20:51

That’s a pretty classic cut so I don’t think it’ll date at all

OP posts:
Softpebbles · 13/05/2020 21:36

That style of ted baker has been around for a few years so I don’t think it will date. My mum has it in the bright blue colour. Check out brand alley as they have had them on there before.

Nice coat. I’ve hovered over the buy button before. 😊

OublietteBravo · 14/05/2020 08:01

Welcome to the thread @fascinated

Another chilly morning here. I’m actually wearing a thermal top underneath today’s jumpsuit.

Jumpsuit: Boden
Travel: Boden

I’ve noticed I wear my Boden stuff more often when I’m WFH. I’m really not bothering with my formal workwear at all right now.

cravingthelook · 14/05/2020 08:55

@Shannith great trainers

@fascinated hi 👋

I'm lazing in bed reading this, so no picture yet today! Love a day off work, even if it's just WFH

Sooverthemill · 14/05/2020 08:58

I must win the most boring outfit of the day ( week?) as I woke at 5 am and am just getting through on autopilot. I can't wait for this week to be over! Especially as it's raining!

Tee: tesco eons old as we haven't lived near a tesco that sold clothes since 2007
Jeans: hush
Trainers: air and grace

happytobemrsg · 14/05/2020 09:11

At least you’re wearing seriously awesome trainers @Sooverthemill!

Today I’m wearing an eBay find. It’s a bit snug so I’m trying to stretch it out 😂

Jumper: Only
Dungarees: Lucy & Yak
Necklace: H&M

toastfiend · 14/05/2020 10:18

Thanks everyone. I'm ok, we've had a bit of rubbish news lately, minor in the grand scheme of everything that's going on in the wider world currently, it just got to me yesterday. Walk and dungas definitely helped!

Dungarees again today (when is it not, to be fair!) 😂

Dungarees - Lucy & Yak
Top - Boden

Quite cold here today.

toastfiend · 14/05/2020 10:20

Helps if I attach a picture... 🤦‍♀️

Also featuring my extremely fashionable fluffy socks... 😂

Glad you are felling a bit better @toastfiend
Whoops lost final bit of my post.
Dress is from Gooseland never heard of them.its from a shop near my work.

crazyspaniellady · 14/05/2020 11:22

@Sooverthemill I love that dress, so much so it’s currently in my basket on ASOS!

@toastfiend glad you’re feeling better today!

I went for a happy outfit today after a somewhat wobbly day yesterday, might be hormones, might be lockdown, I can’t tell anymore!
I was on a conference call yesterday afternoon with my area manager and it’s left me feeling much more confident about the security of my job but no back to work date yet, it was the news I was needing as I’ve been quite stressed about not having a job to go back to after all of this...

Shirt - Schoffel (currently £27 on their site!)
Jeans - Topshop
Boat shoes - Timberland

Chucked on my trusty Ariat fleece to walk the dogs, hope everyone’s having a lovely Thursday!

Sooverthemill · 14/05/2020 12:13

I'm sorry that so many of us are feeling down, it's really not surprising given how uncertain everything is. No one has ever been in this situation before so it's bound to make everyone feel strange. Try to be kind to yourself!

Thank you for all the dress lobe but I'm sending it back! It just doesn't feel me and a,though inexpensive I'm trying very hard ( and failing) not to keep things I may only end up wearing once ( looking at you hush dress).

Take care all x

onestepat · 14/05/2020 12:41

I'm finding it really hard to make a effort these days.
I've got that useless mentality of thinking
"Your going nowhere, seeing nobody don't bother"
It's not helpful

Sooverthemill · 14/05/2020 13:05

@onestepat I know that feeling! But I dress to please myself not others and even without the current crisis I rarely leave the house anyway ( I have a sick DD) so I always try to wear nice things to cheer myself up

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 14/05/2020 14:10

@Shannith those Topshop cords are quite thin - they were quite cheap - but I have a few pairs from Cos which are more culotte style, and a much heavier weight. I wore them a lot in winter with knee-high socks underneath, and my DM boots, for work. I love Cos trousers and am sad about the two pairs of beautiful wool culottes waiting to go to the (closed) dry cleaners!

I'm wearing Whistles jumper and dungarees, and my DM monkey boots. The jumper is a leopard print, and I love the colour.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 14/05/2020 14:14

@onestepat join me for #dressUPfriday tomorrow! I know if I spend more than a couple of days knocking about in house clothes with no makeup my mood massively slumps, so I don't care if I look faintly ridiculous on my daily walk or weekly supermarket trip. I'm still teaching live via Teams, so that helps keeps me accountable - my students do not need to see my velour sweatpants or unwashed hair!

happytobemrsg · 14/05/2020 14:19

I’m happy to do a #dressupFriday with you tomorrow @Judystilldreamsofhorses

OP posts:
Judystilldreamsofhorses · 14/05/2020 14:44

Excellent, @happytobemrsg - I have a big old leopard print dress lined up! I hope the weather warms up soon, as I am almost out of dresses I can wear with opaque tights now. I could go one more week after this one and that would be it.
