Not my taste but one of the most liberating aspects of being a middle aged woman is not giving a fly fuck what other people think so have at it OP, it you want them then have them.

EngagedAgain · 18/02/2020 16:31

@BiffKipper, had to look those two up as never heard of them. What a combination!

SpottyShoeBow · 18/02/2020 16:37

@BillywigSting

Please tell me where you get your dinosaur tights from!

DippingToes · 18/02/2020 16:42

No woman should wear these.

Lordfrontpaw · 18/02/2020 16:45

I recently watched university challenge and one of the female contestants had a dinosaur top (and I thought 'i want one of those').

Purplecatshopaholic · 18/02/2020 17:17

Could? Absolutely yes. Should? Hmmmm, well

Bluewavescrashing · 18/02/2020 18:39

I'm going to take the bows off. Mine arrive tomorrow! 🎉

BillywigSting · 18/02/2020 19:04

@SpottyShoeBow I got them from afflecks Palace in Manchester about five or six years ago, they're still going strong!

SpottyShoeBow · 18/02/2020 19:33

I'm dead jealous. Searching Google. Not much luck.

BillywigSting · 18/02/2020 20:17

I adore them Grin

I'd take a picture but they're currently in the washing machine

Also have a dinosaur dress that I got off amazon that while isn't the greatest quality, is absolutely my thing and if I'm not wearing the tights I'm usually wearing the dress.

Much to the delight of six year old ds and his friends, I very rarely tire of Dino talk, and have a ready answer to the question 'what's your favourite dinosaur' (archeopteryx or microraptor. I have a soft spot for the ornithicians).

Also a fan of Lego and pokemon.

Not a big lover of beige and you wouldn't see me dead in Chelsea boots.

BercowsFlamingoFlownTheNest · 18/02/2020 22:15

Ooooh I love a Mary Jane! Go for it! I'm not a fan of bows so I'd have to take them off but I think they are fab. I'm 43 and would wear them. Much more fun than all the ugly trainers I see recommended on here. It's like a footwear uniform of Stan smiths or whatever they are called.

DukeOfEarlGrey · 18/02/2020 22:48

I don’t like them but if you do, you should wear them and enjoy it!

LellyMcKelly · 18/02/2020 23:14

A middle age women can wear whatever the fuck she wants. If you like the shoes then enjoy them and wear the hell out of them. If people want to bitch about you then that’s five minutes they’re not bitching about somebody else. Meanwhile you’ll be floating around in shoes you love.

BustedDreams · 19/02/2020 00:10

@SpottyShoeBow oh I didn’t know they went into adult sizes. Have you tried yours on yet? How do they fit?

MiniGuinness · 19/02/2020 00:13

Female Colin Hunt.

Bouledeneige · 19/02/2020 00:17

I'm afraid I think they're horrible too. And as others have said just too Sue Pollard. And I'm in my 50s and not bothered about age appropriate considerations.

I wanted to get these boots but was worried they would be a bit clumpy on a dumpy fat bird like me! And I'm toying with getting some Nike Air Force 1s.

Haggisfish · 19/02/2020 00:35

I wear those in link without the bow. I love them. I don’t care what anyone else thinks although the vast majority of people say they like them.

dudsville · 19/02/2020 08:39

Op, you march proudly to the beat of your own drum! They will have made more than one pair of those shoes. Your tribe is out there if you just listen. Enjoy your shoes!

(But don't post about age appropriateness, that's tedious)

SpottyShoeBow · 19/02/2020 09:43

Female Colin Hunt? That's just plain nasty. You can't possibly know HOW I would wear these shoes, or who I am as a person. It's entirely possible to wear a conservative outfit with a slightly unusual pair of shoes you know... And they don't make me socially inept either.. Hmm

For the record yesterday I wore them with a pair of wide legged grey pinstripe trousers and a red Seasalt jumper with a black long sleeve top underneath.

It's hardly Grayson Perry /Su Pollard /Colin Hunt is it?!

OP posts:
ShirleyPhallus · 19/02/2020 10:04

OP why did you post for opinions when you don’t want them and have bought the shoes anyway?!

Happymum12345 · 19/02/2020 10:07

Of course you can wear them. Go for it!

SpottyShoeBow · 19/02/2020 10:13

Shirley, I've taken a fair amount of quite hurtful assumptions in a pretty good spirit I think and joked along with them.. But sometimes enough is enough. I might be an old bird in (in the majoritys opinion) dodgy shoes.. But I'm still a human being with a heart. I dress very conservatively apart from the odd pair of questionable shoes.. That doesn't make me an out there comedy show parody. Have fun with my awful shoes, but do it nicely Flowers

Are the proper comfy though? I used to wear DMs back in the day (1980s bought from my grandmas workman’s clothes catalogue) but when I see the modern ones they look a bit stiff.

Icecreamdiva · 19/02/2020 10:19

Any adult of any age can wear anything they like. I’m 58 and I wouldn’t have worn those at any stage of my life so far. Perhaps when I’m 78 I’ll feel differently.
