I usually like 'severe navy' and Kate's military style outfits but there's something a bit odd about this one. I think I agree with whoever said it was a bit 'Roald Dahl Baddie'. Even a hint of a softer colour - blouse or scarf - would have improved it.

I do wish she'd find a really lovely, smart pair of charcoal grey or even dark burgundy boots to wear instead of the black.

It's nice to see C&C and K&W our together for a change but they did look as if they were dressed for completely different events.

I've finally twigged what Kate's outfit yesterday reminded me of - the ceremonial uniforms worn by the doomed Russian Grand Duchesses Olga and Tatiana!

I am in the minority who loved Kate's navy look - but even I think it could have done with a splash of colour somewhere. But overall love the styling and the fit. Wish I had the height and figure to wear something as unforgiving as that!

Same outfit as November 2017 school visit, minus the jumper.

Today's jumper is better, the last one looked it was going to cover her mouth.

The jacket looks better too, as the wax isn't shiny now. I have this Barbour jacket, I didn't realise it was the one that Kate had.

The navy outfit was such a strange shape, the skirt looked homemade.

Barbours always look better after several years.

I bought my Barbour the other week and have worn it twice (it hasn't been warm enough for long walks). Does anyone know how long it takes not to look so shiny?

The skirt really is awful. Women in their 70s wear that kind of thing when performing in my church choir. Which is fine but probably not the look she was going for.

Whereas today she looks fantastic.

I agree the two outfits look like they belong to two different women- And only one of them is under 50.

I've never been fond of buttons and other fasteners as pure decoration. The same goes for random non-working zippers.

Your Barbour needs a few good soakings to start looking lived in.

Ideally, a Barbour should be shoved through the odd thorny hedge and sat on by a spaniel as well (other dog breeds may also be acceptable). Clean, shiny Barbours are an abomination unto Nuggan.

Probably just me that thinks this but Kate looks too casual! She still looks well put together but it’s too countryside for me. I think I’d have preferred a different jacket.

I think the bottoms are too casual, they look like leggings (or are they jeans?).

The Queen of Spain really does reign! These were released two days ago.

Agree on the jeans/leggings, but I don’t know what else she could’ve worn with those boots!
