Oh I do love Leti's style! I think she is my best dressed royal. And nobody else comes close when it comes to carrying off bright red.

She looks amazing and yes, really suits red.

She is smokin' in red! Apparently she isn't very popular in Spain though. Do we have any Spanish lurkers on the thread who can enlighten us about this?

The QM is definitely giving him the eye in that shot @Tootreeticki! Hard to believe she's the same age there as Princess Anne is now - she looked like an old lady from the time she was young!

The lady behind the king going 😮 is princess Sibylla of Sweden, another young widow and the grandmother of CP Victoria.

According to the grandchildren interviewed in that TV programme queen Elizabeths shoes were straight from Daisy Duck's wardrobe (Duck as in Disney, not Daisy Duke) and they have never seen anything like them before or since. Also her clothes and hats were embroidered with her monogram and crown in gold thread on the inside. There was a page in the room who didn't quite dare stop their fashion show...

Oh and the palace in Oslo had forgotten about her wanting afternoon tea so all they had to serve was dry hard Marie bisquits (because everyone else was busy preparing a big banquet dinner for the evening).

Queen I've asked Spanish colleagues why they don't like Leti - it was something about a money or spending scandal back in the day (can't remember details), and also she is seen as more glam than substance.

Fab for this thread, not so much for the people of Spain.

The QMum never stinted herself on the tiaras! I love the photo of them all at the theatre, possibly a Royal Variety Show, which the QM regularly patronised. Charles has dropped his ice cream, Tony Armstrong-Jones is try to sneak away for a fag, the old boy far right looks as if he’s about to pinch Anne’s bum, and the QM is saying “ We've got good seats”!

I'm a little embarrassed - Leti is one of the European royals whose style I'm most familiar with but I just realised I don't pay any attention to what she is DOING whenever we're looking at her outfit. I was thinking about why people hate her and that she's out and about a lot. But then I realised I'm not sure what she's out and about doing but I don't think she's visiting schools, opening police stations or doing conservation stuff? Am I missing something?

But she is gorgeous, and dresses beautifully. She's got Kate's ability to ensure everything fits perfectly with Meghan's style.

Perhaps that isn't what Spanish royals have traditionally done @BlingLoving?

Oh @QueenOfTheAndals I don't really care what she does. I'm just embarrassed that I've never paid attention. I just have a sense of what it's NOT because I can't remember any pics of her hugging babies of whatever. My point is that I have no sense of her as a person because apparently I've only been interested in her in the context of her clothes. Which makes me a bit cross with myself.

Leti is (mostly) flawless! She looks fab in red

I think Leti is quite smart. She was a former journalist and news anchor. She seems to spend time giving out literature and writing awards among other things.

As much as I love Max, I think Letizia is my overall favorite from a fashion point of view. She rarely gets it wrong. She shows that it's possible to be fashionable and appropriately royal at the same time.

motherofpearl i loved those pics of Leti. She looks so glam. Few casual pics of her in there though, just the odd holiday pic. Maybe less farms/ gardens/ boats etc than kate?!

My favourite was this dress. And i barely recognised her from the pic from 2005

I think she had her nose done at some point in the late 00s.
