I think she does wear extensions, nothing wrong with that at all, I have them myself.

I can absolutely believe that Kate doesn't use extensions.
But her own hair dresser said she did use them! I doubt she has them all the time though.

QueenOfTheAndals · 27/02/2020 18:20

I just assumed that the days we see her with her hair looking flatter are days when she does it herself and when it's voluminous it's when her hairdresser has done it. A professional blow dry works wonders on even the thinnest of hair!

Coat twinning!

My hair is quite like Kate's. It's not particular thick from an each strand perspective, but I have A LOT of hair.
I think Kate has the opposite type, each individual hair is thick but it's a medium amount of hair overall.

I agree that she has amazing blow drys though!

her own hair dresser said she did use them
Her hairdresser was fired when he said that she had extensions.

I cannot find a single article or reference to this online.

I can find that her hairdresser was fired when he used too many photos of DoC to promote his business.

I can find that her current hairdresser had to close her instagram when she posted a photo of the products DoC uses.

Can't find a thing about any hairdresser confirming she uses extensions and/or being fired for doing so.

Can you link please?

The stories were on the Internet at the time, but they may have been scrubbed and moved as low down as possible on search engines (even more effective on phone browsers) after the Palace issued a denial.

I remember all the articles when she gasp sported a grey patch once. We haven't seen any grey since.
Article excerpt: She booked an emergency appointment at the most expensive hairdresser in the country, then spent a marathon six hours being coiffed, coloured and blow-dried to ensure she was restored to her status as yummy mummy in chief. Kate spent more than half a day at the luxurious Rossano Ferretti hair spa in central London where a haircut with Italian-born Mr Ferretti costs £600.

If anyone is interested, here's an article on the products that another one of Kate's hairdressers has used on her here:

I think Kate has the opposite type, each individual hair is thick but it's a medium amount of hair overall.

What makes you say that? Just curious.

MotherofPearl · 27/02/2020 19:10

I wonder if maybe her hair thickness increased with pregnancy and stayed that way? Mine has changed a lot since having children. It used to be quite fine and very straight, but now it's much thicker and wavier, with an annoying tendency to frizz unless I really go for it with product, blow dry and either straighteners or large tongs.

thisenglishlife · 27/02/2020 20:08

My favourite Kate hair - rich dark hair colour, gloss, short length, thickness, smooth with a bit of wave.

I bought the M&S Kate trainers, the white ones were sold out in store and online. I had to buy the navy version instead, more useful for me anyway. I love them. I had to go half a size up though, my normal size I could not really get into.

I also have the green Barbour coat and a black mock croc Aspinal bag 😂

The pictures above that BettyBoo with her big hair vs the flatter hair are interesting. I assume the flatter hair one is from when she was younger, but she still has the one raised eyebrow which lots of people say is indicative of her having Botox.

mistermagpie · 27/02/2020 20:10

this I agree, that is the perfect colour for her.

queenofarles · 27/02/2020 20:23

we used to do our hair differently back in the noughties, always used straighteners and serums not to mention the layered cut that can make any thick hair look flat.

I believe Kate doesn’t wear extensions but probably uses some to add volume for formal updos. ?

AdaColeman · 27/02/2020 20:33

I liked Sophie’s outfit for her trip to the Central Ballet School today. I don’t usually like the tie belt coats, but she suited the dusky pink, and her dress was flattering and pretty too. I liked her simple hair style too.

Selfcarequeereyestyle · 27/02/2020 20:35

The royal family Instagram account has followed Sophie around today. She changed outfit about 3 times I think - a pink dress this morning, black this afternoon and then a green dress for this evening. I can’t figure out how to add the photos so hopefully more technological can do that!

thisenglishlife · 27/02/2020 21:23

The Sophie looks from today (as requested)

I enjoyed the instagram story today of Sophie. She looked fab, and it really highlighted how long she's been patron, and enjoying it. The dusky pink is a gorgeous colour on her, but the fit is dreadful - she's being drowned by it!

QueenOfTheAndals · 27/02/2020 21:49

Sophie looks like that exercise guru called the Green Goddess who was big in the 80s!

OP posts:
BigGreenOlives · 27/02/2020 22:08

I really don’t like that coat on Sophie, it doesn’t do anything for her at all. Quite a tricky day as it started off with sleet and ended up sunny.

I wonder how far in advance they plan their wardrobes.

eggandonion · 27/02/2020 22:25

I have a similar coat which is very warm, but is basically a dressing gown for outdoor use. It's warm but not flattering!

Nduja · 27/02/2020 22:27

That coat is a size too big for her - or two!

MotherofPearl · 27/02/2020 22:41

I agree that the pink coat is far too big on Sophie. I like that colour green on her a lot, but fear that the high neck does not flatter her because she is quite busty.

Can I just say how much love and adore this outfit of CPM's? The dress is Prada. I really like the shoes with it - much better than the obvious black.

Pupsiecola · 27/02/2020 22:51

I think Kate's hair looks fabulous here. My hairdresser can get mine that flat but it takes ages. People will perhaps say that it proves she wears extensions, but this is the difference between a regular blow dry and the use of rollers etc.

QueenOfTheAndals · 27/02/2020 22:53

@MotherofPearl I thought the woman at the front in that photo was CPV! It seems the sort of thing she'd wear.

OP posts:
MotherofPearl · 27/02/2020 22:55

I see what you mean @QueenOfTheAndals - definitely has a CPV vibe. Grin

Better quality Sophie photos, dress is by Galvan
