I always love threads where people recommend things. I love exploring new stuff: ideas.
On the back of a thread a short time back I invested in some hourglass ambient lighting powder and blush and they’re game changers for me as I basically can’t go wrong and they make a huge difference to my face.
Face exercises too- suddenly my hollow under eye area is plumping up and I look loads better even though I shouldn’t ( thick with cold and menopausal lack of sleep)

Hmm- if no 5 o’clock shadow I might give it a go!

Ladies I’m after a new foundation and primer for 35yr old skin. I like a full coverage but very dewy, basically I want Charlotte tilbury’s flows gorgeousness on all her models. Worth the money? I’m thinking a new primer, foundation and setting powder as my trusty ones I’ve used for the past 5 years don’t cut it anymore I’m getting a bit older any recommendations

Rosehip oil and Aldi's miracle cream my skin definitely feels softer 😘

Bohemond · 03/02/2020 18:16

Very cheekily place marking so I can read this thread tomorrow. Grin

Shookethtothecore · 04/02/2020 21:44

Where did you get tretinoin From please?

Cakeweek · 04/02/2020 22:35

Cleanser,: Beauty pie Japanfusion
Hydrating serum: Superdrig Pure
Moisturiser - The ordinary NMoistirising Factor, with a couple of drops of rosehip oil in
The ordinary granactive retinoid in squalane
Beauty pie SPF and eye cream

Make up wise I swear by IT cosmetic cc cream
And a Bobbi brown tinted lip balm that I'd love a dupe for.

Sarcelle · 05/02/2020 10:18

@Cakeweek - what is the BB lip balm (shade etc). I am always after one of these.

MurrayTheMonk · 05/02/2020 11:50

Egg remedy hair oil from cult beauty. I recently had my hair balayage'd for the first time and its left my hair quite dry. This has sorted it right out.

BigButtons · 05/02/2020 13:47

I wish I could find something to help with my straight, shoulder length hair.
It is very fine but there is lots of it. If I use nothing it is all puffy and frizzy, if I use even conditioner it feels really weighed down and lank. I can't find a happy medium.

Caudalie Vinopure range has changed my life!

BigButtons · 05/02/2020 14:09

@Shookethtothecore I have always got my tret from pharmacy geoff- been getting it for years with no issues.Smile

The Ordinary Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic) Powder has COMPLETELY transformed my skin! I have tried all the vitamin c serums and even more expensive ones, and the burn or oxidize (La Roche Posay made me go Trump orange!). This stuff comes in a pot with a tiny spoon. You start with about a quarter of a spoon in the palm of your hand, add a full squirt of their hyaluronic acid serum (it dissolves completely) and it will cover all the real estate from your boobs up over your face & neck if applied to dampened skin. (Spray toner.) My red, sun-damaged, 47y/o Aussie decolleté hasn’t looked this good in years, and the plucked chicken neck is tightening up too.
Also shout out to Andalou Naturals Anti-Aging Daily Moisturiser that I bought on a whim. It’s an accidental pretty damn good dupe for the Drunk Elephant Protini Cream, but I prefer the texture of this one, tbh!!!
I live in Aus, so put this link here for UK... not sure how old the deal is.

@BigButtons I recommend Coco and Eve hair mask. My hair needs conditioning for smooth texture and to depuff. But my hair is fine and gets weighed down. The mask was recommended on here and I bought a travel size. I will be buying the full pot. Its pricey though. It smells lovely. The first time I used it I didn't understand why it got so many raves but after using it for a while, I do.

JillAmanda · 05/02/2020 15:25

Well I ordered the little dermaplaning tools... they seem sort of serrated and scratchy! Is that usual?

BigButtons · 05/02/2020 15:32

@justilou1 I have just ordered some of the ordinary vit c. I do have powder already that I have been mixing in a HA serum but I can't get it to dissolve properly. Hopefully the ordinary one is more finely milled.

@Sarcelle- I'll try some of that, thanks Smile

It’s great, I promise! Start with 1/4 of a scoop 1xday, for a week, then increase to 2xday. Don’t forget sunscreen on those areas. Very important as this area will become more sun-sensitive.

BigButtons · 05/02/2020 15:59

@justilou1 thanks
I use tretinoin and other acids regularly so have worn spf 50 all year round for years now. My treatments are all evening ones so it will be good to have an effective AM one too!

justilou1 · 05/02/2020 16:46

Definitely use in the morning then, under your sunscreen. I wouldn’t use it after tret. (I have just added tret back into my routine, slowly reintroducing it!) Vitamin C will help the efficacy of your sunscreen anyway.

Shookethtothecore · 05/02/2020 19:56

@BigButtons thank you. Right- I’ve messaged the ordinary customer service with my concerns and some photos and they haven’t gotten back to me. I need a full new routine- I’m 35 with 3 small children (baby is 4 months) and my knackered. I have Botox and I’m considering filler (tear trough and cheek) as I just look so saggy. But I’m going to give a good routine a go. Any help welcome. I currently use all hyrdraquecnch range from Clarins and wash my face with a Clarisonic and the Clarisonic clenser it cane from. It’s not cutting it anymore. I look tired (I am) and saggy and dull and lacking luminosity. I’m also seeing pores through my foundation that I didn’t used to. Please help me, So- this is what I figured I needed, from the ordinary

Squarlane cleanser

Aha 30% + bha 2% peeling solution (twice a week)

100% organic cold pressed rosehip oil (am serum)

Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmiate solution 20% in vitamin F (pm)

But it’s all a bit baffling to me tbh- which one would I take out and use tret instead? Do I need tret? And what’s the vit c serum called where does that go? Eye cream? Moisture?

I worked on cosmetic counters for 10 years but I feel so out of it and I have nowhere to go to talk to about it as I’m not lugging my 3 children under 6 into the local department store!

Shookethtothecore · 05/02/2020 19:57

I don’t have wrinkles as such because the Botox sorts that but it is absolutly more saggy and my under eyes are hollow and black and I just look yuck

Shookethtothecore · 05/02/2020 20:03

Retino-A (Tretinoin Cream) - 0.05% (20g Tube)
Retino-A is tretinoin cream. Tretinoin cream is a popular treatment for acne and other skin conditions. It is applied directly to the affected areas of skin and can be very effective when over-the-counter treatments have been unsuccessful.

Is this the tret you get? It’s the blurb from the Geoff website I can’t post a screen grab

BigButtons · 05/02/2020 20:18

@Shookethtothecore I get the stronger gel.1% I think. Not for beginners at all. It is ironically cheaper than the ones of lower strength.

OP posts:
Shookethtothecore · 05/02/2020 20:26

It’s still mega cheap mind! So that 0.05 is probably a decent starting point for me then?

DukeOfEarlGrey · 05/02/2020 20:45

Last night I stayed in a hotel for work and dropped a free sachet of Sunday Riley Good Genes that I was given into my overnight bag. I had about 3 hrs sleep and got up at 5am to start work, feeling a bit sick from lack of sleep and stress - but by crikey my skin looked good this morning. Totally unwarranted, had to be the Sunday Riley.

Connie5858 · 06/02/2020 07:57

Buying tret from pharmacy Geoff, is there a problem when you try to pay.
If it is a foreign website? Do you have to ring through with your card details?
I’m a bit scared of using foreign sites .
