Popping up - yes, I'm one of the PR people on this thread (although do banking and fintech and stuff so it is very different). Broadly, I think all the PR has had some serious flops at time. M&H handled Archie's birth very badly (not the decision to keep it private - I thought that was fine - but the mixed messages and, ultimately, what turned out to be a lie). They are also, I suspect, running their PR entirely separately to the Palace etc which has pros but means some obvious small fixes are missed when they do things - eg the statement should have said something like, "we've been discussing this with the queen and prince charles and are in the process of working ou the details." It's also entirely possible that they couldn't include that as the decision to make the statement was 100% their own against the wishes of the rest which means they can't speak for the rest. But a more collaborative approach might have mitigated that somewhat.
"I doubt any one in the royal palaces leaked." This literally had me burst out laughing at the naivety. BP and KP are, to all accounts, the leakiest places on the planet, filled with individuals who have their own opinions and who are actively acting against other members of the royal family (and it remains unclear to me if the principals are okay with this or not, but if they are, I can assure you they're the type of client I wouldn't touch with a barge pole - you need a consistent, appropriate message).
I suspect that BP and KP are filled with the same kind of people who work for and read the DM. They want things with the RF to stay the same as they always have and don't understand that the world is changing. That a black woman joining the RF, after a successful and independent career does not mean they get to treat her like the 21 year old Diana back in the early 80s (and frankly, even if the world hadn't changed, they still shouldn't as that didn't work out so well for them).
On a lighter note - I'd actually forgotten how HOT keanu is. Thanks for the reminders FrugalKitty et al!
