Whenever Harry & Meghan come back, there will be a flurry of press about them.
They’re launching their Sussex “brand “ next year.
Let’s hope it’s a low key launch.

QueenOfTheAndals · 21/12/2019 09:08

Good luck to them with keeping it low key! The moment the press get a sniff of it they'll be rooting around trying to look for a way to put a negative spin on it.

@Wildorchidz
??

I’ve much preferred seeing William and Kate.
Since Andrew has stepped back, and H&M have been absent the RF stories Have been so much calmer.
They can run their charities from Canada. It’s still the commonwealth.

queenofarles · 21/12/2019 09:10

I too don’t think they are missed that much either, Media are so busy hinting that Kate is furious with Will based on the marry Berry programme and the two separate cars to BP.

QueenOfTheAndals · 21/12/2019 09:11

I don't think that's anything to do with H&M themselves though @CurlyWurlyTwirly, it's more the ridiculous attitude of the press. They turn any molehill into a mountain - look at the nonsense over the now-infamous shrug!

OP posts:
Ocomeocomeimaginaryfleas · 21/12/2019 09:13

To be honest, they haven’t even been missed.

I think I read somewhere that Meghan is very much in work mode and is concentrating on the new foundation so her energies are still being directed towards her passions, just not in the full glare of publicity. It feels like a much better approach. I suppose all that will change when it's launched.

QueenOfTheAndals · 21/12/2019 09:13

Rebecca English has written a very sycophantic piece about the Cambridges in today's DM. I think the press office at KP has had a word as the tone has completely changed from earlier in the week when it was all about the shrug and separate cars.

Meghan is an activist and a feminist.
She will want to continue her work, no doubt about it. Many be with less fanfare, but as you say, the press will pick over every single thing. Again.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 21/12/2019 09:20

Just looked on the DM. There’s a flurry of royal stories.
No time to read them all but the RE one seems to be last and the non story about H&M in Canada is top billing.
As long as the Sussexes sell papers, or are click bait there will be spun stories about them.
For their own sanity, I would stay abroad.

itswinetime · 21/12/2019 09:29

If Harry and Meghan were to retire from public life then the tabloids would turn all their attention to William and Kate, it's the fault of the tabloids not any individual that the twist everything.

Obviously I'm excluding Andrew from this he is a completely different issue.

I hope H&M have taken this time to really consider what they want and when they come back they can put that plan into action.

I also hope the press will calm down and give them a chance but I agree with all the recent drama about 5 adults (William, Kate, the nanny and 2 bodyguards) and 3 children not travelling in one car I doubt that. Even though they all left together and no one has questioned Edward and Sophie or Charles and Camilla arriving separately, it doesn't seem likely. Something about the old 'fab' four is catnip for 'journalists' to go wild on.

BorisForPM · 21/12/2019 09:39

@QueenOfTheAndals Not quite, but there was a KP briefing earlier this week so they have been fed some information to write up this weekend, as well with the new photos that are going to be published any minute now then it makes sense for these to come out against a backdrop of ‘well wishing’ articles - it’s just how the PR-journalist relationship works!

I was coming on to say the same Lunde

I’m looking forward to all the Christmas Day outfits Smile

Wildorchidz

Lol. Stop pretending.

They actually haven’t.

Please could we keep the thread positive. Lots of other threads to make sniping posts or snide comments about H&M.

My feminist Republican heart likes sparkles and the occasional gossip. People putting the boot in spoils my reason for lurking since the very first thread.

As you were - CPV looking resplendent in that shade. Anyone else think the royals need to embrace underrated velvet for giving a sumptuous elegance in winter?

DontFearTheReaper · 21/12/2019 12:57

DM says Andrew not joining the E, B and F when they go skiing over Christmas. Also Charles’ biographer suggesting that with Andrew stepped down, H&M might be more free to do their own thing.

Lunde · 21/12/2019 13:10

Looking forward to the church walk outfits - usually some good coats and hats

Hoping for George and possibly Charlotte this year

QueenOfTheAndals · 21/12/2019 13:47

I think support for the royal family is at a considerable low after Andrew's interview so they may pull out the big guns and have George and Charlotte walk to church.

OP posts:
itswinetime · 21/12/2019 14:09

In fairness I was expecting George to be on the walk to church this year anyway. But yes I think with the recent negativity around Andrew and what I'm sure will be several point comments from the press about Harry and Meghan skipping Christmas 🙄 It's almost definite we will see George this year probably Charlotte too. That's my expectation anyway. I hope that if George is walking his allowed to walk with the Tindall/Phillips kids he always seems much more comfortable and natural with the other kids understandably so.

I agree about keeping the thread light and positive but I don't think people are sniping at H&M - far from it. Just commenting that they haven't been missed, which is a good thing, surely?
