I got this dress from whistles which I love until DH said it was a touch too short. I'm 39 years old and don't want to look mutton!

What do you think?

Absolutely nothing to do with age, but I think it's too short. Not exactly fashionable.

ljbrad · 27/11/2019 22:00

Love the dress, and don't think it looks too short, especially with tights, I would probably go for different shoes though!

Alrighteo · 27/11/2019 22:08

Outfit fine, shoes make you look like you've forgotten your broomstick.

Greenglassteacup · 27/11/2019 22:20

You look great. What’s he on about?!!

Jarw · 27/11/2019 22:27

Nope looks great with black tights but I wouldn't wear it without them, just personal preference I have when wearing shorter dresses.

Wheredidigowrongggggg · 27/11/2019 22:29

You have great legs - if mine looked like that I would wear that dress!

Jedimastermama · 27/11/2019 22:30

The dress is fine and you look great!
If you like it (which you obviously do) and feel comfortable then wear it. 👍🏼

RumpoleoftheBaileys · 27/11/2019 22:36

You (And the two other posters who have added pictures) look amazing.

Not too short #gavel.

Yours reminds me of something Kate Middleton would wear if she was allowed to...

Groovinpeanut · 27/11/2019 22:41

It's clear not many are familiar with Whistles... OP you look fantastic in that dress. Great figure, lovely hair and the boots look lovely with it too.
I wear Whistles dresses lots, they are fantastic dressed up, or down.
Pay no mind to it being too short. We've moved on from the Victorian era Grin

MerryDeath · 27/11/2019 22:47

No, you look great..go for it!

icelollies · 27/11/2019 22:49

Looks lovely too me! I don’t think its too short at all.

Sarahjems · 27/11/2019 22:50

begging for compliments.....

Goodjo19 · 27/11/2019 22:52

No it's not too short. Live life to the full. You've got a great figure so show it. Wear tights. Shoe boots or heels. 😀

SpiderCharlotte · 27/11/2019 22:57

Absolutely nothing to do with age, but I think it's too short. Not exactly fashionable.

There are a million short skirts and dresses in the shops just now so I'm not sure what your 'not exactly fashionable' comment means.

SpiderCharlotte · 27/11/2019 22:58

begging for compliments

That's just a bitchy comment and not really necessary.

SunshineAngel · 27/11/2019 23:02

Hell no, you look great, flaunt it :).

Daffodil55 · 27/11/2019 23:13

Some lovely dresses on the Whistles site but those prices are not in my range.

I am older than the OP and wear skirts and dresses above the knee but only with darkish or thickish tights. Summer dresses are longer so I can go bare legged. Advancing years are not usually kind to knees. Rolls eyes.

redbushtea · 27/11/2019 23:15

Its too short in my opinion. Nothing to do with your age though.

scubadive · 27/11/2019 23:17

Too short I’m afraid, not flattering. Something long and flowing would suit your figure.

TatianaLarina · 27/11/2019 23:18

Offs.

RubyViolet · 27/11/2019 23:22

Nothing is too short for a 39 year old. Wear exactly what you want.

TurquoiseDress · 27/11/2019 23:25

I think it looks great with the tights and ankle boots!

Olsfreeandsingle · 27/11/2019 23:28

Hey ! I got well into trouble on here for using the phrase “mutton dressed as lamb “ Wink

MargotB7 · 27/11/2019 23:30

It's not too short with thick tights. You look lovely and have a nice figure. I don't understand why some women on here think different. It's not as though your vagina in on show.

MargotB7 · 27/11/2019 23:34

In Summer but in Winter I think in Summer with tights and boots it looks nice..
