I think Kate's got into watching I'm a Celebrity and doesn't want to miss it. Using kids as an excuse to stay in and watch tv in her pjs good enough for me

AdaColeman · 21/11/2019 20:25

If I were a Duchess I'd be a bit miffed that I didn't have an orangery, poor Megs must feel as though she's slumming it!

paradyning · 21/11/2019 20:28

This is an intersecting titbit (to me anyway) from @heavenqrf on Twitter

Crown Princess Mary will act as Regent from the first time from December 6th to December 8th meaning both Queen Margrethe and Crown Prince Frederik are out of Denmark at the time. Frederik will be Regent from Dec 2 - Dec 5 as Queen Margrethe will be in London

My guess is 24 hour D&V.

Going back on the discussion a bit, Diana did have her hair slightly longer for a spell - about the time of Harry's birth, you can see it in the newborn and christening pics.

If I remember rightly, it was roundly panned (press, commentators etc) and quickly lopped back shorter again. Probably lasted three months 🤔 - and wasn't even that long, but hinted at maybe where she was planning to go with it.

(Teenage me thought she was sooooo glam in the christening pic 😂)

That is interesting @paradyning. Three cheers for our Mary!

megletthesecond · 21/11/2019 20:43

Was Diana using ALL the Elnett in those photos? Shock

fate I wonder about terrorist threats too. IIRC there's a lot that we don't know and a fair few plots that are stopped in time. If not then I just hope it's family illness and nothing sinister.

mathanxiety · 21/11/2019 20:49

Diana's hair led a double life.

I thought Diana's longer hairdos looked like something from 'Dallas'.

AdaColeman · 21/11/2019 21:00

Grin Grin Just brilliant math!

Northernlurker · 21/11/2019 21:10

I think in order of most likely to least:

  1. kids upset re Andrew awfulness
  2. nanny emergency meaning no babysitter, yes they could gel somebody but Kate probably thought sod that, I'll do what normal parents do and stay at home pleading no sitter
  3. early pregnancy, she's not been too sick so they're trying not to announce but she couldn't hack the evening out
  4. some family emergency with Middletons and she can't face it
  5. row with William - no way. She would be out in her best gown to show him how fortunate he is
BertrandRussell · 21/11/2019 21:15

“ Was Diana using ALL the Elnett in those photos?”
Yep. It was us started the whole climate change thing with our 80s hair....

AdaColeman · 21/11/2019 21:15

Margrethe must be coming to London to attend the celebrations for the 70th anniversary of the founding of NATO, as Denmark was a founding member.

frugalkitty · 21/11/2019 21:34

Bertrand your comment reminds me that we used to use a hairspray in a pump top bottle....I can't remember the name of it, but when the ozone and CFC stuff hit mid eighties, this was going to be the way forward......

BlingLoving · 21/11/2019 21:55

I dont think they would say it was children unless it really is. Feels like tempting fate otherwise. I tend to agree that the andrew thing could be it. Words at school, possiblynlots of internal tension etc. Eugenie is supposed to be close to kate/William so possibly shes also been round?

I imagine that the whole thing has been very hardcore internally. And with Charles in New Zealand possibly William has been deputising? Adding to stress at home kids may be picking up on?

FaithHowellsYellowCoat · 21/11/2019 22:07

In the interview Andrew said the family had been very supportive - do you think he just meant Fergie and E/B or Charles, Anne, William, Harry etc? Or another example of his arrogance/misreading of situations?

TrixIrl · 21/11/2019 22:11

I definitely think it's Andrew related; which is very sad for the kids.

I've got to say I feel very sad for Bea as well, it's going to cast such a shadow on her wedding.

Neither are the real victims here but there's something really really tough for the younger family members about the collateral damage of it all.

itswinetime · 21/11/2019 22:13

Didn't he say something like immediate family? We will probably drive ourselves crazy before we find out what really went on.

Here is the only frock we are getting for a while though.

I don't think unless I have missed it KP have announced anymore engagements coming up?

I think we've seen that green dress before. Emilia Wickstead?

WineOrGinOrBoth · 21/11/2019 22:18

That christening photo of Diana is very Dynasty!

I feel for the rest of the family - it’s tough on them. His poor daughters.

QueenOfTheAndals · 21/11/2019 22:19

Next week is the Diana Awards - could we see a joint Wales Bros appearance?

Also, who knew there was a Diana award??

OP posts:
itswinetime · 21/11/2019 22:21

justasking111 · 21/11/2019 22:25

Re: the Diana awards I hope both of her sons attend. At times like the ones they are going through now families need to stick together.

itswinetime · 21/11/2019 22:26

It would have to be a joint Wales appearance for the Diana awards surely? Surely Harry will break sabbatical for that I'm guessing no duchesses though.

Today's dress she first wore when visiting family action this year it's by Beulah London who donates a percentage of its profits to help victims of sex trafficking.

Looks like the Queen isn't alone in sending a message through clothes!

justasking111 · 21/11/2019 22:35

God that dress is a horrid colour school uniform green bleugh...
