You mean Kate doesn't get the Marigolds out to do it herself???

“ Where have we ever heard that Kate has 2-3 nannies etc? ”
Because that’s what families of their wealth and class do. Why wouldn’t you? I certainly would!

ajandjjmum · 22/11/2019 10:39

Bet George has overheard something, or had something said to him, in the playground. Hope Kate let him sleep in her bed last night.

gingercat02 · 22/11/2019 10:42

Lovely outfit from Princess Anne awarding medals to the 2014 Bobsleigh team last night. Tried and failed to up load a photo all morning 😪

latedecember1963 · 22/11/2019 10:49

I watched the 1st 2 episodes of the new series of The crown last night and Olivia Coleman grew on me. She's got the Queen's disapproving stare off to a tee.
I wasn't sure about the casting of Helena Bonham Carter as Margaret at first but, again, I think she will grow into the role.
The scene where the Queen was being told about Margaret's behaviour at a dinner was hilarious! (Deliberately not been more specific as I don't want to be accused of a spoiler.)

DevonUkelele · 22/11/2019 11:16

@Pootiepie ooh ... Chch right? Jelly as - lucky you!

queenofarles · 22/11/2019 11:22

actually there were two reported crying Kate incidents, flower girls fittings and Archie’s christening, the point is dismissing one story and not the other opens a window of more "evil Meghan " perception.
I actually laughed at the "no we do not have a £6000k bathtub" it gives an illusion of frugality and thrift, but then hires a famous interior designer to do the work. they have a good renovation budget ofcourse they will buy the best appliances, fixtures, furniture, highly doubt they will go to HB and buy their en-suite .

For the record I have nothing against any of this , our ensuite fixtures cost more than the price of the reported bathtub.as so many people do! It’s not unusual to splurge on bathrooms

I just wish they stop going down this route. It won’t end well.

Kate and Will spent a fortune on their homes ,and why not? Kate seems to have an expensive taste in interiors from the pictures we’ve seen, and hired a famous architect to help with Amner Hall renovations . And Ben Pentreath for KP.

They are royals and are used to the finer things.

itswinetime · 22/11/2019 11:36

I can't comment on how many nannies William and Kate have but I know someone who nannied at Eugenie wedding and she was employed by Robbie Williams so there were lots of nannies there employed by the various families involved so you can't read too much into how many nannies were there.

As I said last night I think Kate wearing a dress from a company that Is all about supporting women who have been trafficked is as close to her opinion on Andrew as we will ever get.

As for H&M last week the press were saying from sources that the queen pops to Frogmore all the time to check in, this week and it's a different source saying no one can even be bothered to texts few weeks before that a source said Kate had been reaching out to Meghan. The press have sources to back up all of those stories but they can't all be true. Unless it's has come from an official source or someone willing to be named I view all anonymous sources as completely made up and the truth is probably somewhere in the
Middle of all those stories.

QueenOfTheAndals · 22/11/2019 12:00

The second Kate crying story was courtesy of New Idea, an Australian tabloid known for just making shit up.

I can't think of Imelda Staunton as anything other than Doloris Umbridge

If she does get the role as Queen in The Crown, I hope they don't give her an all pink outfit to wear. Some sort of Queen-Umbridge hybrid might blow my mind!

itswinetime · 22/11/2019 12:05

Fate that was my first thought to 😂

QueenOfTheAndals · 22/11/2019 12:12

Is it not confirmed that Imelda has been cast then? Baz Bamigboye is usually pretty on the ball with showbiz scoops.

The story I read was that she had been approached...it probably is true but I don't think it has officially been announced.

banivani · 22/11/2019 12:30

@paradyning If you adjust your pronunciation of Danish, Norwegian and Swedish and avoid words that look the same but mean different things (example: rolig means calm in Norwegian and Danish, but it's means funny, amusing in Swedish) you end up with a sort of general Scandinavian we can all understand, slanted towards our mother tongues. PML:s was so good it was almost Swedish Scandinavian and not Norwegian ditto. V impressed by her language skills. I could not do the same for Norwegian, not even after watching all of Skam.

There is a nice collection of photos from Monaco's National Day on Svensk Damtidning here if you scroll down a little - I've added a pic of someone I don't know in a FABULOUS coat. www.svenskdam.se/kungligt/17-magiska-bilder-fran-monacos-firande/

CPV has visited the police to discuss Sweden's current problems with gang violence - this is a bit unusual, it wasn't planned long in advance but is a response to the sitation. Pic attached. Quite dull and businesslike, trousers don't look like they fit tremendously well. If anyone in the UK RF wore that you'd rip her to shreds - but we don't care here and I'm feeling a little smug over that. Let me.

QS had some sort of event, pic attached. Now I have to work!

That Beatrice Borromeo in the striped coat @banivani. She's married to one of Princess Caroline's sons and is very chic.

I like the photo of CPV, she looks like she's in Law & Order: Stockholm!

I can't help thinking about anyone working for PA who presumably will also lose their jobs now that he effectively doesn't have a portfolio of official duties to be managed. I would hope they would be "restructured" but it must be unsettling for them and their families too.

banivani · 22/11/2019 13:06

Beatrice is it. She looks fantastic. They have some great styles in Monaco all the same.

hopeishere · 22/11/2019 13:31

If I was Charles I would take this as an opportunity to completely restructure. There needs to be a single comms director overseeing everyone with each family/person having its own support but with one point of control.

ajandjjmum · 22/11/2019 14:15

I understood that was what the Queen's Private Secretary, Christopher Geidt, was trying to do, but Charles objected, and he was pushed out. It's been said that she could do with someone of his experience to advise her now!

Spudlet · 22/11/2019 14:17

I like that pic of CPV. No, it’s not the most stylish of numbers, but she’s there to work and she looks like it. Job first, clothes second - as it should be!

You’d hope Andrew’s staff would be looked after, but I’m not too hopeful... I was quite shocked, reading Ma’am Darling, at how easily people were chucked aside when their usefulness was done. I’d hope things have moved on from then (it was a long time ago), but it wouldn’t surprise me if they hadn’t, given how we know they underpay.

queenofarles · 22/11/2019 14:23

This made me GrinGrin

paradyning · 22/11/2019 14:24

Thanks Bani.
CPV does look like she should be on a tv show there. Line of Duty.

itswinetime · 22/11/2019 15:02

Re the crown Netflix response its a no on any future casting

'We are currently filming Season 4 of The Crown but have not commissioned any further seasons as yet. Therefore any news on casting remains pure speculation.'

Spudlet · 22/11/2019 15:40

Well, apparently Andrew's private secretary is now CEO of his 'Pitch at the Palace' project, although it won't be at the palace any more. So she's alright. She was instrumental in getting that car crash interview set up, so I think she's lucky - although given that her role in that was widely reported, I guess leaving her jobless would be seen as an admission that it was indeed a disaster.

Andrew was off riding with the Queen on Friday so clearly Mummy is still onside, as you'd expect.

Lunde · 22/11/2019 16:22

CPV and Prince Daniel at a Generation Pep event last night (Daniel's child health and activity charity). CPV's outfit is a bit of a miss for me - like a 1980s aerobics outfit. Although a + for wearing her sustainable development brooch again.
