Hah true! Anyway we digress.

Here's Letizia looking like business in a Zara cape over a Boss blouse. I like her red shoes.

That's a bold look on Leti! The red shoes are fabulous, plenty of glam and simple hair with it.

TheOliphantintheRoom · 11/11/2019 07:50

Diane Abbot was no Naomi Campbell

Confused

No, the former is a politician the latter is a model.

Kate looks like she adores being a duchess and will relish being Princess of Wales then Queen Catherine one day. I hope Meghan can make a role for herself that she finds equally fulfilling.

BertrandRussell · 11/11/2019 07:58

“ then Queen Catherine one day.”
She’ll never be that, will she?

StCharlotte · 11/11/2019 08:06

Why wouldn't she be Queen Catherine? Queen Mary, Queen Alexandra, even the QM was Queen Elizabeth.

Rhubarbisevil · 11/11/2019 08:11

Beetrand is clearly expecting an imminent revolution.

TheOliphantintheRoom · 11/11/2019 08:40

Bert - I believe the consort of a king is styled Queen Oliphant but without a number. Consorts of queens don't get to be called King. The sexism of that keeps me awake some nights Smile

BigGreenOlives · 11/11/2019 08:50

I love that outfit of Leti’s. If only it was practical for dog walking, gardening or doing admin.

Princess Alexandra is unwell at the moment, she couldn’t attend the event she was expected at on Friday. She has fibromyalgia and turns 83 on Christmas Day.

QueenOfTheAndals · 11/11/2019 08:53

Bert is right, Kate will just be HM The Queen and only HM Queen Catherine if she outlives William. The QM was only styled that way because her daughter had the same name as her and her MiL was still living too.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 11/11/2019 09:04

I though Kate’s official title will be Queen Consort.
( bit of a grey area as to whether Camilla will be Queen or Princess Consort)

QueenOfTheAndals · 11/11/2019 09:05

No, that's what she'll be but the official title is always HM The Queen, not HM The Queen Consort.

OP posts:
QueenOfTheAndals · 11/11/2019 09:07

I think the Princess Consort thing was just a sop to the public so they wouldn't kick up a fuss when Charles decided to marry Camilla. She's redeemed herself now so I don't see why she wouldn't have the title of Queen.

OP posts:
PinkSun9 · 11/11/2019 09:34

It looks like Camilla is worried sick at the thought of her role as the Queen Consort. I dont think she relishes all the formal duties, maybe due to her health problems, but the impending responsibilities as the top female and all the attention on her must be stressful for her. Especially at an age when most people retire, she n Charles will be getting their new jobs.

SunsetBoulevard3 · 11/11/2019 09:51

I honestly don't see the point of Charles becoming king in his mid seventies. It's ridiculous. It should be passed to William. I imagine most of the duties will fall to William and Kate anyway as they won't be up to overseas tours and endless meet and greet in five to ten years.

Rhubarbisevil · 11/11/2019 09:57

Kenneth Rose’s diary entries are particularly viscous this morning in The Times. I might buy the book.

QueenOfTheAndals · 11/11/2019 09:59

@SunsetBoulevard3 I don't think either of them would want that. Charles has been waiting all his life for the top job, William would probably prefer a few more years of relative freedom.

OP posts:
ElspethFlashman · 11/11/2019 10:07

I think Charles is effectively doing the job already. The only thing he doesn't do is receive Ambassadors and the PM, as far as I can see.

But the rest of it will be a pretty seamless transition I imagine. I know he doesn't want to live in BP, and I can see that being the biggest upheaval of all at that age.

But the actual dqy to day job? It's wierd that people don't see that it's not gonna be all that different to now.

alliwantisagoodnightssleep · 11/11/2019 10:08

The hat Meghan wore yesterday reminded me of the one she wore to Anzac Day last year. Although yesterday’s was nicer I think.

PinkSun9 · 11/11/2019 10:28

I think Charles is the only person who is looking forward to the job. Camilla looked so uncomfortable being at the Queen's Speech at the parliament. She is also not very well and may want to do the barest minimum of royal duties.
William seems resigned to his fate, knowing how times are changing and the scrutiny his position brings. More responsibility, more serious work, less freedom and less number of family members' support must be preying on his mind. Charles' idea of a slimmed down Monarchy has its consequences. The Queen has had the support of lots of royal family members to share the responsibility. William and Kate will have to shoulder most of it until their children are ready. Kate will enjoy being the top girl.

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 11/11/2019 10:28

Dianne Abbott was really good looking when she was young.

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 11/11/2019 10:29

Thread’s moves on, sorry.

Not keen on Meghan’s hat, makes her look like a mushroom.

SunsetBoulevard3 · 11/11/2019 10:37

I agree that Camilla doesn't enjoy the duties, but she puts her best foot forward.
Is that it then for H and M until after Christmas?

BertrandRussell · 11/11/2019 10:47

“ I agree that Camilla doesn't enjoy the duties, but she puts her best foot forward.”
I expect there are compensations.

JosephineDeBeauharnais · 11/11/2019 11:02

I wonder if Camilla will take even more of a back seat when Charles accedes. She seems to be in poor health and not keen on foreign tours especially to hot places so I can't see her wanting to do a dash round the Commonwealth following the coronation. HMQ could live another ten years, which would mean C&C coming to the throne in their 80s!

paradyning · 11/11/2019 11:08

She was supposed to be Princess Consort as a sop to the public upon their marriage as Queen says. But now I'm sure I read she will be Queen consort (as Joe Public have forgotten/forgiven/don't give a monkey's)

The more I see MM's hat the more I love it! It really suits her. I wish I could see the lace top/dress she had on under her coat. I'm such a sucker for lace.
