@BertrandRussell "like a character in a period drama" yes spot on.

BertrandRussell · 10/11/2019 14:10

I’d love to know what Kate and Meghan’s bottom halves looked like.

I think Meghan is either lucky or put lots of practice in to looking lovely while her face is in repose. Most people don’t.

peridito · 10/11/2019 14:27

I would just like to say that I would like to see Kate in something which isn't so fitted .Something which doesn't always show off her tiny waist .

And ,for heavens sake ,men have it so much easier when it comes to clothing for events like this ,couldn't this pair have polished their shoes ? And had their trousers tailored to a better length ?

TSSDNCOP · 10/11/2019 14:36

Bertrand I’m thinking now of a Morecombe and Wise sketch about the 70’s newsreaders Grin

BertrandRussell · 10/11/2019 15:09

TSSDNCOP I suspect Meghan’s would be jeans and Kate’s gym kit!

beanaseireann · 10/11/2019 15:18

Doesn't the Queen always get it right sartorially, particularly in recent decades and when she was young. There were middle decades where her style wasn't great.
I think Angela Kelly and Stuart Parvin should take a bow.
Megan looks, as always so pretty.
I know you all rave about Kate's "up dos" but I'm not always a fan. Sometimes they are a little severe on her.

I thought Sophie looked great last night with her hair down.
I'd say Boris wasnt too happy with being seated beside Andrew - I know there was a divider between them but it's not the best image during election time.

SunsetBoulevard3 · 10/11/2019 15:19

Boris and Corbyn look a right state.

AdaColeman · 10/11/2019 15:21

I liked the shape of Meg's hat (it's not a Fedora) but I thought the brim was too deep, and swamped her small face. I'm pleased that she wore her hair up, long floppy hair wouldn't have worked at all.

I liked Kate's Tolstoy look, she's got a couple of outfits with that style of frogging, so she must like it, and I think she looks lovely in it. I liked her hat with the veil... who can resist a veil?

I loved Camilla's hat, those curved feathers reminded me of her gold wedding hat. I hope she's tucked up in bed now with a hot whiskey!

@peridito at least Jerry isn't wearing an anorak!

N0tfinished · 10/11/2019 15:34

I think Kate's updo is stunning. Like everyone's outfits.

A good portion of those middle years were the 1980s, which was not a good style decade for many of us.

alliwantisagoodnightssleep · 10/11/2019 16:10

According to the Daily Fail Meghan’s earrings from last night cost over £25,000. That has to be a typo hasn’t it?

Rhubarbisevil · 10/11/2019 16:11

Kate is saying “It’s alright, Boris has left the Cenautaph. You can open your eyes now.”

SunsetBoulevard3 · 10/11/2019 16:18

Poor HM looks frail and emotional. Love Kate's hair. I do think she's looking very gaunt and not too well. I'm not a fan of her outfits these days - too severe and they age her.

SunsetBoulevard3 · 10/11/2019 16:18

@alliwantisagoodnightssleep

I thought the same thing!

SunsetBoulevard3 · 10/11/2019 16:24

I do love Kete's coat and hat today though!! I find it a bit odd Meghan is wearing false eyelashes at a memorial event.

tinyteece01 · 10/11/2019 16:30

I disagree that Kate looks “gaunt”. If you think she looks gaunt, you are in for a shock when you see what gaunt really looks like. Hmm

tinyteece01 · 10/11/2019 16:31

Meghans’s false lashes are a step too much in the make up stakes.

tinyteece01 · 10/11/2019 16:32

The Queen might have been scratching her eye. She was not necessarily tearful.

RomaineCalm · 10/11/2019 16:37

I really like Kate's hair in that twisted 'up do'. I wish I had a hairdresser who could pop round each morning and do mine.

I particularly like Kate's poppy broach - apparently it's specifically to recognise the code breakers.

beanaseireann · 10/11/2019 16:40

Seneca I was thinking the1970's too - i've seen photos and she looked very frumpy for her age.
Rhubarbisevil brilliant. Grin

beanaseireann · 10/11/2019 16:43

"The Queen moght have been scratching her eye. She was not necessarily tearful."

I agree tinyteece01

Grinchly · 10/11/2019 16:49

Another to say I think Meghan is very pretty, with gorgeous skin and eyes, but I wouldn't say she was a classic beauty.

Eye of the beholder and all that.

Agree re Kate's hair, gorgeous, and loved the coat.

Of the next generation, I suspect George will be the stunner.

Disfordarkchocolate · 10/11/2019 16:49

I though the Queen looked emotional, she must have known many people who died in WWII.

Grinchly · 10/11/2019 16:50

HMQ looked tiny didn't she. What a shock it will be when she dies.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 10/11/2019 16:57

According to the Daily Fail Meghan’s earrings from last night cost over £25,000. That has to be a typo hasn’t it?

Jessica McCormack does a similar diamond version that costs £25,700. I'm not sure the DM have correctly identified these and anyway they are rubies. Lazy journalism.
